[Q] Roaming with JHJP4 - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I installed JHJP4 last night and rooted no problem. I still have 3G data connection, but I have a little R over my signal strength indicator icon. I'm obviously in my home city and am not roaming, but since the phone thinks I'm roaming, I won't be charged for roaming by my carrier (Fido) will I?
Does anyone know how to resolve this modem issue?

Problem with Internet after returning from roaming

Hi. My problem is that every time I return from roaming, my Internet won't work. I don't mean WLAN but regular, mobile Internet (I don't know how to call it). After the restart of the phone (turn off and back on), Internet works again but only until I go to roaming and back again...
I know why Internet doesn't work when I'm in roaming - it's because I've disabled it while on roaming. I don't know why it won't work when I'm back on my provider's network...
Oh and I didn't do any modifications to the phone. The software is:

[Q] Network problems after Gingerbread update

After updating to Gingerbread, the signal bar goes from full to nothing.
I also cant access 3G speeds now.........
Mt network provider is AT&T
and I pay a monthly data plan for it too
can anybody help? :/
In settings, about device, wjat is your baseband? The last three characters should be JK3.
Did you flash the correct modem.bin?
Did you insert your sim correctly?
Did you check your apn setting ( settings, wireless settings, mobile network, apn)?

[Q] Nexus One losing 2g/3g signal

I have a problem with mobile signal on my nexus one. Sometimes it shows no signal but it gets some (one or two bars out of four) if I try to make a call. I can actually make a call in third attempt. Sometimes it show four bars and my number is unavailable.
If I try to change settings to 'use 2G only', it loses signal completely (with 'x' above signal bars) and I have to reboot or turn on airplane mode to get signal back.
Model: Nexus One not rooted
android version: 2.3.4
baseband v: 32.41.00.32U_5.08.00.04
Kernel v: 2.6.35.7-59463-g52630a3 android-build(at)apa28 #1
Build No: GRJ22
Any ideas what may cause the problem???
Lost 2G and 3G
I have the same problem, anyone knows how fix this signal lost???
Nexus One:
Android: 2.3.4
3G BAND: 850
Same Problem
I changed my chip from GSM to 3G and having some problems with data connection. I know I have Internet when the bars and 3G icons turns green, but I don't have when they become gray... And I don't know why this happens... I installed the app Network Signal Info and when I saw the results I realized that it's a section saying... "Phone Type = GSM". Is this the problem? and how can I change it? Thanks in advice

roaming on ATT 920 flashed to Rogers GDR2

I flashed my ATT 920 to the Rogers GDR2/Amber rom and now I'm noticing the Triangle icon a lot which means i roaming on another network. Before flashing I have never had this. I do have bad Att recepition in my area and would often get no cell reception. The phone tile shows that I'm on ATT. Is there any way to find out what network im actually connected to? My phone isn't unlocked and I have the AP and cellular setting pointed to Att 3G. I have data roaming turned off but im afraid im going to get hit with roaming talk/text charges if that exist with att.
You will not get roaming charges when you are physically on your home network, regardless what the phone tells you.
The reason why it shows roaming is probably because the firmware is set to use Rogers as home network and anything else is roaming.
Another reason why you may get bad reception maybe Rogers ROM does not have all the baseband for AT&T activated/optimized.
You can try to re flash to AT&T with dead phone flash and see if it makes a difference.

[Q] Mobile data issues, wrong baseband?

Hi Guys.
I'm having mobile data issues with my N7000 on CM11. I'm not totally sure when it started, but I changed network providers and also re-flashed the phone from OMNI to CM and used a modified PIT file all over 2 days.
My problem is that I have mobile data when connected on 3G and H+, but when ever connected on just plain old H I have no data throughput at all. The phone thinks it does, but I can assure you I don't. Annoyingly most of the cells around where I live are H and not H+ so it leaves me pretty screwed.
I currently have 2014/08/31 nightly CM 11 4.4.4
Baseband N7000XLT3
Is this the right baseband for a N7000 in the UK on the network Three?
cheers guys.
Bump
Baseband number looks fine to me, I think that's general Europe.
I too have had that problem but only when I have the "3g" icon. I haven't ever been able to solve it.
