milestone help...
Currently I'm not under contract with any carriers, was using my nexus one on local carrier and traded that for an iphone 4. Sold that and currently using a samsung vibrant which only cost $160.
I can get a milestone for free with a 2 year contract, but I ll probably just use the vibrant mainly. Would the milestone be a good backup android device? It seems out dated to me already, should I just stick with a blackberry bold (even more outdated)????
How is the milestone rooting? custom roms? read about bootloader being locked? Is it fairly simple to unlock? I have unlocked nexus one bootloaders, rooted, etc.... Vibrant rooted, unlocked carrier etc.... Any input on the use of this device? thanks
Milestone!
The Android OS is much better. RIMs Push-E-Mail Service is great but that's it.
But don't use a Milestone if you could have a Milestone 2 (Droid 2).

Blockbuster APk

anyone know where I can get a TMOUS Blockbuster apk at? It recently launched with the Cliq 2 and I have tried the verizon and sprint versions with no luck so hopefully using a tmobile version gives me no problems

How do I know which CDMA carrier this Milestone is?

Hi guys,
I have a brand new in box Motorola Milestone. It has never been activated. It is unbranded, etc.
It is the A854 CDMA version. I originally thought it was Alltell, I brought it in to a local store and they checked the ESN for me and said it was not associated with any accounts. They couldn't confirm if it was an Alltel phone or not?
How do I know which carrier the phone is too? Cellular South, Alltel etc?
Appropriate the help
Check out the firmware version in the phone.
^ Thanks for the tip.
I haven't even powered the phone on yet, it still has the plastic on the screen. What would be an obvious indicator of it's carrier? I know it is 2.1 eclair, it says on the UPC.
Power it on and check in Settings->About phone.
It should give you a idea about your phone. Just google the firmware version mentioned there.
thanks!
I powered the phone up and everything and it prompts you to active.
I pushed activate even though I have T-Mobile and it connected me straight to Verizon
This leads me to believe that the phone is Alltel as I had originally thought since Alltel was purchased by Verizon in my area.
Would that be an accurate assumption? Lol
No. Its the original Verizon droid 1.

I'm not quite sure it is. I'm sure it would be branded Verizon if it was? It does state A854 and the box is even marked as Motorola Milestone. A quick search comes up the A854 milestone is non-Verizon CDMA

[Q] XT860 vs Motorola Milestone 3

I was poking around on the Brazil's XT860 site this evening and found the Milestone 3 (that is the branding) has Motoblur on it.... Which probably explains why the XT860 isn't branded as a Milestone. My question is, what is the difference in model number? If they release an update before Bell does, can we use that instead of waiting for Bell to get off their butts?

Wait... So you're saying the Bell XT860 does or does not have MotoBlur..?

All D3 and Milestone 3 comes with motoblur, is just a nicer version of the old motoblur seen on the older models.
Even the D2g, upgraded to the latest FW has the same flavor of motoblur, way different than the original one.
I'm sure ther are pieces of motoblur on the Bell XT860, but if you review some of the features ofhe Milestone 3 (the brazil version) it mentions Motoblur in the literature. I was also snooping around different forum sites (including this one) and people have uncovered a motoblur launcher on the XT860 but the software isn't fully up to par so it doesn't really work well...

[Q] Unlock Droid Bionic to ATT

I know the law was passed, but I was curious if it's still possible to unlock a droid bionic to ATT, I'm looking at one for sale, and I was wondering if anyone here could help me out.
the law is for phones made this year and on. all older models are not affected by the law
