Does anyone know if the issue with forwarding emails had been corrected with the stock email client? Problem that I'm referring to was that anytime you forwarded an email, it would attach it as a .eml file, which a lot of corporate firewalls end up blocking that file type. Only thing that I've read is that the update addresses some of the security vulnerabilities that it had previously, but doesn't really go into specifics.
Thanks in advance!

emails still forward as .eml. I just hit reply then change the send to field. Been doing that for years because of the way the Fuze handled email.
That stinks... yeah i've tried doing the reply as well, but got frustrating when you're trying to forward something that included an attachment.
Thanks again for the response!
Also how to move email to other folders?
Mine still blocks forwarded mail.

Not sure... Never tried to move an email to another folder using the stock client. I gave up and decided to use touchdown for my exchange email... Works great.

Touchdown is good but I like the stock client as it integrates with the phone better.

Hi friends
My workplace requires me to sync with their mail exchange server to get all my e-mail & calendars pushed. I've set it all up great on stock but my issue is when I am sent a new meeting request, I have no ability to accept or reject it on the phone. Any ideas on how I can resolve this? I'd prefer to stay on stock until I make sure my phone works fine before venturing into a custom ROM. I am not aware of there being any really good 2.2 ROMs specifically for the Captivate but when I am ready, I just want 2.2 on a simple ROM similar to stock without the bloatware. Any help is greatly appreciated.
no need to use a custom rom to make your mail usable.
i use an app called touchdown on my phone. it is the most complete mail client i have found so far. only downside is that it costs $20. well worth it if you need nearly COMPLETE functionality out of your mail client
i hear good things about k-9 but i couldnt get it to connect to my exchange server so i gave up on it and went with touchdown
I am using the stock app and i am able to accept or reject invites in the email app. They have a calendar icon and i scroll down and hit accept. An email reply pops up and i hit send.

alphadog some reason it doesn't allow me to..just shows a blank e-mail. Can you also create meeting requests and send them to colleagues?

this wasnt working for me when i first got my phone. i just tried it again and it works now....an update or something i did? i dont know, its weird, because just after i got my phone, i was testing it out with some guys at work....
i still find touchdown to be better when it comes to actually reading the emails. full html email support is nice and looks more professional. the stock email client looks like a hack job when it breaks lines mid-word.

I can accept meetings on my phone, but when I go to my calendar and try to create new meetings and add participants, it does not send the invites... Any ideas?
I was wondering what people are using on their Nexus for a email client for Exchange.
I have tried Touchdown and it just seems to slow
Roadsync doesn't support html on exchange 2003
Moxier mail seems a good package and on the face it seems to support html on exchange 2003 but it doesn't have a trail and isn't cheap.
Any suggestions (must support html on exchange 2003)

In my eyes the most glaring is no "peak times", a schedule of when to sync and when not to

I have to say, I really like this feature in the HTC Sense email. Just wish it had a universal inbox like stock.

No inline forwarding, messages are sent as .eml files, which Android can't read.
No folder syncing, as well as the ability to move messages to specific Outlook folders.
Signatures only on initial messages.
does HTC Sense email have HTML supprot for exchange 2003?
Stock email can't search... huge issue for me.
I like Touchdown. I have not had any speed issues with it. I am running Exchange 2010.
Seems like Touchdown has had a recent upgrade, a lot better than what it was a few months ago.
Anyone found an APP that will work with Hotmail with a Captivate? Stock, tablet and even K-9 don't support it. There must be a decent one out there! Thanks!
No longer sent from my BlackBerry.
I just forward my live account to my gmail.

Stock email app works like a charm with hotmail. I got 2 accounts configured under it and my local provider email also. Never had issues getting hotmail.
If you want to fully managed your hotmail (delete mails on server) then your right default email app on the cappy cannot do it but it can fetch the mail.
EDIT: Tried delete on the server option and it works. Fluke bug probably.
Do a Google search on "Hotmail activesync android" and you should be on your way use stock email to do push Hotmail. server deletion is supported last time I checked.

Correct .. last time i tried it failed miserably.. maybe just a bug or a bad connection.
Haven't tried it personally, but I do use Maildroid for gmail,Yahoo, and my ISP email. All set to push, even free Yahoo.
I used the exchange server for hotmail on my Captivate, worked fine with the stock email. Set it up as exchange, using m.hotmail.com as the server. Your username is your full email address. I don't have a Captivate anymore so I don't know if you need anything else (like port numbers). Google should give you the rest.
Also, if you set it up as exchange you can choose to sync your contacts and calendar with hotmail.

Hello, I do hope this is in the right place, if not apologies for that, please move it to the appropriate place.
I just received my Note yesterday, and one of the first things I did was to set up my emails. Gmail on email seems to work fine, however I have 2 emails from Godaddy for business. The 2 Godaddy emails load up the folders, however emails do not load. I am able to send emails, but not receive! (all set up as IMAP)
Currently I have set up K9 mail, and this is pretty good, but I would like to get all my mail together in the stock mail app.
I would appreciate if someone has seen this, I couldn't anyone matching my situation.

Which service provider are you using? I know AT&T requires and Enterprise Data Package to access corporate email and such. Have you tried syncing while on WiFi to see if is is service related??
Hi, Im actually in the UK, using T-mobile, We purchased our private domains from Godaddy. I used the emails on the same network using HTC Desire HD, and I had no problems. As far as I can tell it seems like a software issue? or maybe Godaddy is incompatible with Samsung galaxy devices?
I did try using Wifi mode only, but no difference. Thanks for your reply
Hi just wondering I'm facing the same issue that some corporate exchange emails are having?

I'm just wondering if it's possible for someone to provide me the email app apk? I to perhaps reinstall,
I spoke to godaddy customer services but they were unable to help, suggesting it could be my phone, or samsung servers.
Please help
Exact Same Problem
I have exact same issue. Bought a samsung galaxy note and everything else seems fine, except for my godaddy accounts .
Any solution on your side?
I've tried setting up forwarding for my godaddy email acc to my gmail account, but I faced another problem which is whenever I sent out email from my samsung note, it seems to end up having duplicate emails in my sent folder. Only happens for godaddy account
This is driving me crazy
Hey I guess Im glad its not just my phone, I got no responses here. Godaddy werent much help either. So I did some digging and it seems like an issue with godaddy imap emails with samsung servers. Pop3 works but seriously outdated!
Apparently people using Galaxy s2 are facing the same issue. Which suggests a samsung side issue? Who knows
Im using K9 for the time being, which isn't too bad but would be nice to use stock app.
Keep me posted if u do come to a solution.

Well I guess either I need to spend money changing company hosting my email or live with it for the time being (sucks as I have signed up for 10 years!) .
Will surely update you once there's a solution.
So, this morning, i just opened the stock email, and it started to download my godaddy email messages! Looks like someone decided to look into this issue and fixed it!
Anyway give it a try, good luck!

Thanks! Tried it and it worked!
Happy New Year!
Im still having this issue but with outlook live accounts.
i wonder if what godaddy have done can be repeated by microsoft!
Godday imap doesn't work with stock email app
Same problem here:
I can see all my go daddy email folders but no messages ever load.
I have tried every setting and configuration possible but no dice.
Is anyone else still having this issue?
Mine seems to working ok,I hope this issue hasn't resurfaced.
Are you using the latest firmware? You may just need to update
I have 2.3.6
I hope its fixed in a future update.
I'm running Gear Manager 1.5.120903 and Software UAMK7 on Note 3. I'm considering returning my gear because i don't not get full body notifications from Touchdown, my work email exchange client, I do get the title of the emails but to see the full body I have to go manually into the app on the watch. On the other hand gmail works just fine. Any fixes?
I understand the Sony SWII gives full email content notifications.
I believe that it is because your Outlook server has security settings that make it that way. Mine did. Also made it so I had to have a lock screen with a pin code to unlock.
I Google searched Outlook no pin for android 4.3 and found a solution that worked. I had to flash a zip file.
Anyways. I think the issue is with your email server. Not the watch...

Thanks but can't root my phone as IT can tell. However why does Sony S2 work? Just bought one today and the touchdown email comes thru as a notification complete with entire email body
My company changed over to requiring Maas360 and TouchDown for accessing the 2010 Exchange Server. I poked around through the TouchDown settings to find the new server address and was able to setup my work account using the stock email app. TouchDown is still installed but pretty much disabled. I have had no issues with my work email account and get most of the email body on my gear. Don't know if this will work for you, but it's worth a shot.

I'm fairly certain that this is because Touchdown isn't specifically designed to work with the Gear, and as a result it's just trying to do its best. If Nitrodesk updated their software to specifically communicate with the Gear it'd work ok. You may want to send them a request email, I'm probably going to.
