My brightness changes when I pull down the notification bar. auto bright isn't on either. Any thoughts?

When auto bright is not on, you change your brightness by dragging your finger from right to left or left to right accross the notification bar, you are probably moving your finger a little left or right when you are pulling it down. If you turn auto brightness on, that will disable that feature.
Oh ok so I take it that its a swipe gesture. Thanks for the help man.

Since upgrade to ics I have been unable to utilize the feature where you slide your finger over the top of the notification bar to change brightness. This is even with auto brightness unchecked. A really useful feature for me.

Are you talking about the brightness control on notification pull down? If so then you can have 15 toggle mod, it has the brightness toggle to control brightness from notifications.
yeah its not there on ics

check settings\system\status bar and check BRIGHTNESS CONTROL. There is no longer an actual slider bar that displays. Just touch and hold the top of the status bar and slide your finger back and forth.

Download an app called display brightness from the play store, its by dev called rubberbigpepper. It emulates that feature and I actually prefer it.
Does anyone know an app that gives the samsung like drop down menu luminosity slider with a auto option and 3G wifi switches ?
I know switchpro widget that goes in the notification drawer eventually but it lacks the luminosity slider.
Thanks for any help !

Thanks a lot. This app is nice.
But is there any app that only remains in the notification drawer with a slider ?
I'm sorry I cant find much, but this seems OK, but no slider

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...s.brightnessrocker.lite&feature=search_result
Thank you for your help, I've searched a lot too and can't find any notification embed slider
I found the widget app called : https://play.google.com/store/apps/...medium=appbrain_web&utm_campaign=appbrain_web
Which does have sliders for luminosity and volume but I can't find one single app that replicated the samsung slider with both automatic luminosity offset and absolute luminosity % slider !
If one dev manages to code this I bet he can start selling it at least 5 dollars ahah.
This one is NOT BAD AT ALL too because you can add APPS and other options like flashlight into the bar, I think I'm going to use that one for now : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.j4velin.notificationToggle&feature=search_result

Power Toggles has a brihtness toggle that once tapped shows a brightness slider.
Could someone port the brightness slider in the notification dropdown like in GSIII for HTC One? I know there are apps on the market that are pretty close, in fact i'm currently using DISPLAY BRIGHTNESS, but it's still not the same. It keeps disappearing so that i have to re-enable it all the time and it often gets in the way. I find the GSIII brighness slider very convenient.

ViperOne has the option to enable an invisible brightness slider. You just slide your finger left or right on the status bar (brightness must be in manual mode for it to work).
Anyone else notice this screen issue in landscape mode when you go to the quick settings in the notification bar? When mine flips around the screen seems to break in the top left.

Is there any way to disable this? I keep double tapping my status bar to turn off my screen and it opens up my date and time every time. This is the date and time on the left side of my status bar when I pulldown.
This is new with kitkat, I never had this date and time before the OTA today.

Why are you pulling it down before the double tap? Tap on the bar when the curtain is closed to turn the screen off.

It doesn't matter if I pull down or not that was simply to illustrate where it is on the screen. It happens if I double tap anywhere on the left side of the screen; which is the side I usually do.
Kitkat changed the way my status bar pulldown works as well; it's all ugly now. Any fixes besides flashing another rom?

Not sure what to tell you. Mine looks and functions exactly like it did on 4.2

Double tap faster... just thoroughly tested this. If done slow, depending on side, it can pull settings or time. If done fast, turns off. It has to be tapped pretty slow to pull up menus...
