It's not going to happen. There is no fix. Get yourself a more recent ROM, if you're looking for something like Regawmod, which used to be my favorite, try Fresh or NFinite's optimized stock ROMs.

Im some what of a newb here but I follow directions well. So I attempted to root my CDMA Hero after the 2.1 upgrade. I followed all the steps but when it says go to the tray bar and you will see superuser permissions I never do! its really aggravating because i have tried over 10 times by now. please help
Are you looking in the Notification Bar on top (you pull this down to open it) or the Application Tray from the bottom (press the button with a triangle inside the circle)? The Superuser Permissions app should be in the Application Tray.

Which upgrade?
If you ran the most recent RUU from the sprint site, it is already patched against root. You have to run the older version.
Go to: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=694572
Scroll down to Regaw's second post and click on the link that says, "My Personal One I used for testing"
Run THAT Ruu.......THEN proceed to root via his instructions at the beginning of the post.
Good Luck.
P.S. Your software number must be 2.27.651.5
If it has a .6 at the end, you can't root
it is actually in with the other apps the ^ button
thanks!
Thanks alot! I now own a perfectly rooted HTC Hero!

If you downloaded the Sprint Update OTA after upgrading to 2.1 you will need to run the original 2.1 RUU then root.
switched
I switched the 2.1 software to the one that ends in .5 instead of .6
I had the same issue then realized that it was due to me being on the newer 2.1 and I cannot seem to get the phone to flash to the older one. I keep getting connection errors!!!
I heard a lot of it was due to windows 7 but people posted about the new htc sync that is windows 7 compatible is suppose to work. I have that yet i still get connection errors, and unfortunately i don't have any computer with an older os on it!

Alright, I was able to solve my problem!
If you are getting a connection error just after phone reboots and attempts to go into boot loader try this:
1. Turn off phone
2. Boot into boot load by holding "Volume Down" and "Middle Scroller" and then push and hold down "Power/End Call" - you will be in boatloader when you see three skateboarding "dudes"
3. Push "Volume Up" to enter fastboot (usb) - you will see the top item on the menu say fastboot if you ARE NOT in it already
4. leave phone on and in bootloader and then start the RUU update and all should work!
This is what worked for me with my issue, hopefully it will help someone out - i know i was getting stressed out about it.
And sorry for posting in this thread for my issue.
Hi all,
I'm a newbie here. Also, I'm from Turkey so execuse me for my English.
I've a problem on my rooted Incredible S. I'm using latest Trinity SensationXL rom.
After flashing, I set up all the accounts (HTC Sense, Google, Facebook and Evernote). They work fine except Google. When I try to access Android Market, I'm getting "No connection" error. There's a button named "Try Again" but clicking it does nothing, same screen shows up. Sometimes Market opens but I cannot install any app.
I've tried these:
1) Re-syncing by Settings->Accounts and Sync->Google->Sync Now.
It couldn't perform. Shows me an error: "Syncing has some problems. It'll be back soon." The last date successfully synced is the date I've flashed the new rom.
2) Backing up and restore.
I had a backup after 3 days of flashing via CWM. Restoring this backup gives me nothing.
Please help.
Thx in adv.

Of course I did. But nothing changes.
As I said: Sometimes it comes, sometimes doesn't.
Now I'mm trying the same thing over wi-fi, no problem now.
This means that the problem comes from 3G connection, I think.

Whenever I flip my homescreen to Location, a warning message appears:
The Locations files on your storage card are either missing or outdated. Tap to download the latest files from the server

I 've tried all 3 buttons below that message, and both of them take me to "Installing Locations" screen with some info and a button "Cancel download" below, however, my phone does nothing when I touch it
So I wonder, is there anyway to download maps/install location or use HTC Location?
<I'm using manufacturer's ROM, upgraded to Android 2.3.5 with Sense 3.0, my phone hasn't been rooted yet>
I had the same problem on the stock ROM, don't know the solution.
So this morning I got an update notification for HTC Hub on my HD7 and tried to update the program, however the update kept failing around 40% and now I can't access HTC Hub anymore.
So I uninstalled it and I am trying to install it again. It downloads good but when its about to installit gives an error "attention tap here..."
also in my programs list I got this weird icon which says
"@\Applications\Install" which has a progress bar next to it and it fails too installing HTC Hub. I have never faced this problem before...any ideas ??
this method always works for me when that occurs:
uninstall/cancel download. restart device. connect to WiFi. download/install HTC Hub.

well I tried that and it didn't work.
But today morning I tried downloading it again and it worked. It was able to download it completely as well as install it. I think it was a temporary marketplace server error.
I installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2467607
It went fine, and I booted it up
I went to the lockscreen, and unlocked it, yet all that appeared was a white screen with the HTC logo
After a few seconds of waiting, I get a popup saying "unfortunately, qualcomm enhanced location service has stopped"
Then a few seconds later, it just restarts
I installed forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183023
It also went fine, and I got to the lockscreen
yet instead of a pop up, it just stays at the logo, then restarts
How do I make either qualcomm enchanced location work, or just make my phone go past the lockscreen?
Try searching. This question gets asked about 5 times everyday

It's pretty vague, and anything I search for doesn't help
Searching for "qualcomm enhanced location service has stopped" either links my posts, posts with broken links, or not relevant at all
Searching for something like "cannot unlock", "cannot go past lockscreen", etc also isn't helpful at all, because it's all different situations

It says "Sprint Support" though.
Even so: the stock rom doesn't work either
Oops, read again, I flashed 31.6
edit 2: Tried to flash 41, just to check, didn't work either.

Tried multiple times to reinstall. That's the problem, the reinstalling
After searching multiple times, nothing pops up that's relevant.
If you could tell me WHAT to search for, maybe that would help
