Hello All!!
I am using XWJM8 in my Samsung Galaxy S (international edition). For the last couple of days i am facing a weird problem. My Exchange sync stops in the middle of the day. If i try to re-sync it says unable to open connection with server. two days back i was in XXJPK, with One click lag fix by Ryan ZA. Everything was fine and was syncing fine with office's exchange server with Touchdown exchange (as it has Global contact search option). But syncing stopped around 1600 hrs (local time). I tried with recreating my account but it rejected all my sync and authentication request. Then i flashed back to XWJM8 with Voodoo lagfix beta 4.2. Even then i could not create my exchange account with Touchdown, but had good luck with native mail client (Corporate mail account). Everything was find up tilll now.
Suddenly i see in my phone last mail i got was at 1315 hrs (local time) but in my laptop i see mail till 1615 hrs... very depressing.
Can anybody help me out please? i love my phone and android but exchange is really important to me. so if anybody can help me with this i would grateful!!
Thanks.

About once a day I go to check my email on my Tilt and I will see that I don't have any messages. If I open up active sync I will see that the circular icon is orange and I have this error:
"You account in microsoft exchange server does not have permission to sync with your current setting. support code:0x85010004"
If I soft reset and then go back into active sync and manually run sync, everything will be fine again for about 24 hours and then for no reason at all I will get that error again.
It's pretty annoying because I have to check active sync every so often to make sure that it's still working and hasn't crapped out on me.
When I searched on this problem it seemed like everyone else who was getting this error was having it as a constant problem. With me it just shows up periodically, which is why I'm posting.
Any ideas how to fix this? I'm not sure what other info you might need to help me, just let me know and I will try to provide it. Thanks!
Hey I haven't searched or anything but just opened the forum up and came upon your post.
I get the exact same thing - only started happening a week or so ago. I use GoodLink most of the time but I still sync with my Exchange server because I like the Pocket Outlook calendar better.
Weird that this is all of a sudden and intermittent !!!!!!!
I have never had this before and I have had the Kaiser for about 6 weeks or longer.
Are we REALLY the only two out there experiencing this problem - how lucky we are !!
Anyone have any suggestions on where else to look to try to troubleshoot this weird issue?
Yeah, I'm still wondering. It still seems to happen once every day or two.
Very annoying to always have to make sure to open up active sync and check to make sure it hasn't crapped out.
It would be nice to know I could always just trust that it's working correctly.
You can add a third person now. exact same issue. Looking for an answer.
Make that a fourth person.
I'm using Activesync to sync with an Exchange 2003 SP2 box. Everything runs fine - mail is pushed to my device, along with contacts, calendar and task items. After about 24 hours, I get an Activesync error 0x85010004.
I am using a certificate from "Certificates for Exchange". Link
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Take a look at the link below. The suggested solution was posted from Jun/07.
Cliffnotes : In this scenario, it was happening to ALL Activesync users on the Exchange 2003 server at periodic times. Apparently Activesync was sending responses to a diff IP/virtual server. He was able to resolve it by setting the exchange box to only have one IP.

Thanks for the link. I read through it a few weeks ago in my quest to solve this problem.
In my case, my Exchange box only has, (and has only ever had), one IP address so this solution wouldn't apply.
After about 2hours of using my phone on wifi the exchange sync (built in mail application) doesn't sync anymore (internet itself keeps working). If I then disable en enable wifi, it works again.
I connect to exchange via https (outlook anywhere). Same goes for calendar.
btw, my GMAIL keeps working with no problem. It's just exchange that stops syncing
have you tried restarting the phone?
might be a service that got stuck
yep, doesn't fix it.
I'm gonna test TouchDown to see if it shows the same behaviour
Are you accessing Exchange via "Email for Exchange" or "Corporate"?
what do you mean?
I've made an account on my phone that connects to the 'webmail' of the exchange. Official name is Outlook Anywhere.
noob with similar issue
I'm a relative newbie to this forum so unsure of posting protocol, apologies in advance.
But whatever. I have the att version of the galaxy--the captivate--and have had a hard time getting exchange to work reliably. I've several times deleted and re-created my exchange account, and it will sync initially, and sometimes once or twice thereafter. But then, it ceases working competely, simply saying it has a "connection error".
This happens whether I'm on my company's wi-fi, home wi-fi, or just over the air 3G. the only fix is to recreate the account, and that's a pain.
I had an old winmo HTC fuze for a couple years, and it worked fine with this exchange server--I don't think I ever had to recreate the account, and it was thoroughly reliable. I also borrowed an old G1 for a couple weeks, used Roadsync, and it worked fine too.
I read in another forum that advanced task killer was the culprit, so I deinstalled it. No change. I also read that turning the synchronization on & off from the power widget was worth trying. Also no change.
Any other ideas? I too will try a 3rd party client before returning the phone. I mostly like the phone otherwise, though the GPS problem is annoying.
Appreciate any help.
Tried it with Touchdown: same issue. It tells me: No available network. However website continue to work...
When I click some links/visit some sites, it starts working again...

it sounds like the Wireless or 3G goes into sleep mode when you are not using it.
I have a similar problem, my calendar is able to sync but contacts unable to sync with exchange server.
I have both a corporate email and private email account setup on my Galaxy.
The corporate is an auto-sync through exchange and syncs my contacts and calendar as well
The private is a pop3 account which is set to sync every 15mins.
After 12 hrs or so the private email invariably goes to sleep and doesn't receive any new messages. Sometimes a manual 'refresh' wakes it up, but most of the time I need to re-boot the phone to get it receiving email again.
The corporate exchange account seems more robust, but has also gone to sleep on a couple of occasions
Ideas?
I've seen similar things with my AOL accounts (don't laugh my parents have been using them for like 13 years and I'm not chaning my email after all that time). They seem to have a mind of their own as far as updating themselves goes. Sometimes, its fine, sometimes they just don't bother. Sometimes one of my accounts runs just fine for days, and then I discover that a different one hasn't been syncing at all and theres a bundle of really pissed people wanting to know why the hell they haven't received something.
I have tried using K-9 mail (check the app store), and that works just fine. Does exactly what the native client should be doing.
However, I hate the K-9 icon, and so I refuse to use it until I can figure out how to change the icon without breaking the app. Tried a few times, but no luck *sigh*
Also, you'd think that a standard polling email app shouldn't have any problem just checking stuff.
Strange. Had this last night as well. I know this has worked before as was getting my email in the mornings but had to reboot to get it to work this morning, tried on-off airplane mode as well, before reboot. Interestingly, gmail pulled mail down after wifi was turned back on.
Am on stock DXJG04. I did post on another thread about some processes which seem to cause extra battery drain overnight. Something about suspend not working properly. Not sure if related.
Hello guys, I have my SGS for a short period time and I came from BB world. The only thing I miss is my corporate mail. I can't use it like before. I've tried everything (Touchdown, K9, etc). The only one that works is the beta version of "Seven Mail" but the problem is the delay with the mails. They always arrive between 10 and 15 minutes late. It's funny because my work mates in another phone company have the official software of Seven Mail and it works perfect (no delay) but the beta software it doesn't (unfortunately my phone company doesn't have the official version). Corporate mail works perfect in iphone4 too.
It seems like androis users with different phone companys are the only one with problems.
Any ideas? Thak you

What firmware are you using? The Exchange support has improved substantially in the 2.2.1 ROMs (JPX/JPY). In fact I can no longer connect to my company's servers if I do not use these ROMs (due to Exchange 2010 SP1 support, I think).

Thank you selataeb for your quick answer, my firmware is 2.2.1 JPU and my company uses Exchange 2007. I can connect with seven mail but there is a delay (it's not the best for working)

Well, with 2007 there should be no issues actually even with the stock email client on any ROM. I always use the 'push' option and it just works. If push is not working for you, please try different sync frequencies.
Otherwise, it may just be some issue with the server you are connecting to.
Thank you for your help. It's probably due to my company server but I don't know why it works with iphone4 and in SGS only with one phone company.
Hi
I was and have been using the stock email app on my s2 for the last month no problems set up with my hotmail account. Last week I noticed something was draining the battery over 2hrs and found it to be the microsoft exchange active sync. I did some research online and it was suggested to delete my email account from the phone and set it back up. I did this but I am only able to set up as before when on wifi otherwise I cannot connect to the server if using my mobile data? This means I can't use the email when not on wifi as it just times out and says unable to connect to server?
Can anyone help please.
