strange problem with Xperia X1 USB - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Before 1 month i sync my Xperia with pc using active sinc.
Now i try to connect with PC using USB cable (tested working with HTC) but gives error for USB (in connect window).
I try everything that was able to find in google.
* reinstall sync
* Setup USB connection in all options
* try vista , xp and Linux ( sync and browse like device)
* Update ROM (using SD card ) Windows Mobile 6.5 | 21911 | Vision Edition
when i try to update with SE update manager after restart ( with pressing camera button ) xperia on color screen gives only USB and on PC "SE update manager" nothing happens.
Battery charging is ok.
Is this some hardware problem or is software problem?
And please give my some idea how to fix.
PS sorry for my poor English

Le me suggest you to try changing the USB cable.
I have observed a high failure rate in USB cables.
Good luck!

I'm not sure of what you described. You say that the USB cable is tested with other HTC device successful. Your X1 is detected in PC and The charging no problem. All is possible thing is USB2PC. I'm not sure about this. But mostly, you can search in settings > connections -> USB2PC, you might need to disable the advance setup below active sync. If USB2PC isn't installed. Search USB to PC. If you can't find both. Download HTC USB2PC, or try another ROM. Good luck!

Maybe you need the correct USB Driver. Which OS are you using ?
This is the tut for flashing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505377
within this tut there are usb drivers for flashing with uspl, download uspl and install the drivers.
here is the direct link to download uspl with usb drivers http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=193940&d=1244542898

No USB Connection

Hi,
I have a Diamond which I've recently flashed with Gen.Y's R5 NLD rom and radio 1.17
At first everything was fine. However, since a few days when I connect the diamond to my (windows 7 x64) PC I get a message "USB Device not recognized". I've reinstalled Mobile Device center to no avail.
I've also tried unchecking "Enable advanced network functionality", but that neither helped.
Luckily I can synchronize activesync through bluetooth, but it's really slow, also for files.
Internet connection through USB works fine though.
Anybody got an idea what I could do?
here to help
1. make sure you have the latest windows mobile device center
2. plug the device into usb port
3. go to control panel administrative tools - computer management - device manager
4. click on universal serial bus controllers and uninstall any usb root hubs and usb composite device
5. unplug the device
6. restart the computer
7. plug in your device

diamond & windows 7

hi guys!
when i connect the diamond at my pc, windows 7 tell me: unknown device
i have installed the wmdc and yesterday my pc recognize my diamond!!!
what i can do?
pls help me!!!
P.S. i've tried to reinstall the wmdc but don't work
try changing the usb port
i've tried but didn't work
try reboot sometimes computers start on the whole unknown usb device
and the only cure is reboot
is the only solution?
it's possible is an hardware issue?
Re-install WIN 7
If rebooting too doesn't work then i recommend re-installing Win 7, it hardly takes half an hr..
i tried to change the cable, to change the port usb, reinstall wmdc, format computer, hard reset, another computer...but nothing...
what i can do?
i'd uninstall wmdc even search and remove any traces of it in regedit
of cause if you reinstalled win7 from scratch that should happen automaticly
or I would try connecting it to another computer to verify that the device connector was not damaged
it's possible is an hardware issue?
because the pc recognise my diamond with bluetooth
news
my pc recognize my diamond with bluetooth but for the usb port nothing...
i've tried to install a new rom version but nothing...
how i can install an original bootloader from internal storage?
as I said try connecting it to another computer xp with activesync or later with wmdc
anything
you don't need to sync or anything just detect it if works you could even use a public library computer if they are not too locked down
thats how you detect if the connector in the phone have been damaged
about doing it from Internal storage I'd suggest you check the wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Diamond
maybe around the "Upgrading / cooking / flashing:" section
i think the usb connector on the phone is broken
the only solution is the assistance...but i have the hardSPL inside my phone!!!
Try it on another PC .
i've tried...but nothing
windows fault
This is actually a problem with windows.
I had the same issues but solved it by fiddling with the device manager. This is slightly more advanced than just plugging the phone in but it's not that hard.
Also you can check to see if this is really a problem with the phone. Try to connect the phone in disk mode (so it registers as a memory stick). If it shows up it means it really is windows having some issues detecting the device.
I have the same problem, but when the TD is in disk mode no problem at all

[Q]help I can't connect my x1 to pc

this my new phone.. I don't understand my xperia x1 couldn't detect on pc.. How I solve this problem??
Is my pc should install the driver?? or just plug to usb port??
please the instruction...
What os do you use on your pc? What rom on your phone? I little bit more information would be useful if you want somebody to help you.
are u already install activesync on ur pc?
That's why I asked for the os in use. Depending on the os it's Active Synch or the Mobile Device centre.
1. try this:
start --> settings --> usb to pc
untick "Enable advanced network functionally" or you can tick disk drive if you want to transfer files
2. if you are Windows XP users, please install ActiveSync
2. if you are Windows 7 or Vista, please install WMDC aka Windows Mobile Device Centre
it comes with the CD when you bought XPERIA X1 if you don't have it just GOOGLE!
3. If you are a Mac User, try Missing Sync or Sync Mate, IMHO Sync Mate is better
4. If you are Linux User, no idea I have nerver had good sense about Open Source, but try this: http://www.ehow.com/how_7225580_sync-windows-mobile-linux.html
If you have trouble with Active Sync or WMDC (I have experienced that with my Ex o2 XDA mini),
1. find programs that might block COMM port, it might be another PC Suite, in my experience it's my P910 Sony Ericsson Sync and Palm Desktop Manager, just unsintall them
2. Don't forget to tick enable USB @ COnfiguration (aka settings)
3. Find out if your phone detected when you tick "disk drive" @ USB to PC --> If not, might be faulty USB
4. try another PC (Windows) I have found it more compatible than Mac, that's the reason I have never bought and upgrade my Mac.
5. If you still can't access, try another stock ROM and see how it be...
6. If you are Windows User Computer, try to see if your phone really detected @ PC, click start, (Windows 7) click device manager or if youa re on XP, try to search it at Windows Properties, see if there's your device there!
7. Okay if you found it useful, pls click thank's button, I try to make any possibility that is possible. You won't be a zombie if you click thank's button

Need help with MTP and C5303 Driver!~

Hey guys,
Recently i purchased a chinese tablet called "Onda V811 Quad Core". i used that usb cable to charge and also access the PC to send files to tablet. It was too slow so i used my Xperia SP 5303 usb cable.
After that, i charged the tablet as well with the Xperia SP 5303 usb cable and adapter. It worked.
The problem: When i plugged my Xperia SP usb cable into my computer and connect it to my XSP 5303 phone, icould not install the drivers for some reason. I already installed all the drivers and could access the SD card on my PC before.
But now every time i plug in my XSP usb cable into my XSP, i cant install the drivers since it says it fails to instal BOTH MTP Driver, and Xperia SP 5303 Driver, making me cannot access SD Card. =(
Is it because of my chinese tablet that i plugged it once in it? or is it my phone?
I have tried everything, turned USB debugging on and everything but nothing works.... also tried to install ADB drivers... that didn't work as well....
I'm on Android 4.3.
It charges my phone, but can't install drivers which means i can't get to SD Card on computer.
Does that mean i can never get to my SD Card ever again?
Please help guys =( ~
Thank you!~
Go to your Xperia SP: Settings > Xperia > USB Connection > MTP and check PC companion installation on. If that doesnt work you can also try it with MSC mode.
If both options dont work you need to remove all the sony drivers installed (perhaps also from your tablet), reboot pc and try again.
ok thankyou, i will try that when i get home because i have school now. i will tell you the results later. thanks for replying.

Wow, thank you very much!,t hat did the work, now i just need to know how to get MTP drivers to install so i can access my internal memory card as well, so i can put /obb files in there for games .
Could you possibly help me out with that one as well?, that would be nice of you ^^
Reconnect your phone into MTP mode should do the trick (windows does recognise the drivers by itself and will install when missing)
I tried that and it just gives me the error that i can't install the driver etc.
error, can't install.
What error? Device gave problems or crashed?
The only error it gives me is that my driver (MTP) is unsuccessful in installing.
What os do you use?
Sent from my C5303 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I use windows 7 4-bit
Hmm weird very very weird. Could you check all the installed components in you PC (Start > My PC > Device managment)? And while you do so connect your phone in MSC...
Here you go, that's all the drivers i have for the USB drivers.
I attached below a picture.
The one with the Triangle icon int he picture is the one with the MTP where i can't install the driver. Thanks
Hi,
I am also trying to install the MTP driver for my Xperia SP C5303, but I can't locate it, even using Hardware ID string in device manager. Can someone please help. Thanks.
