Can you guys recommend me the best guides for the following :-
Rooting the Galaxy S
Updating firmware to 2.2
Lag-Fix
Thanks in advance,
Gav

If you really want 2.2, best options are:
Firmware JP6
Voodoo lagfix pre-3
CF Root
In my opinion anyway!
If you can live with 2.1, then JM9 or even JM8 with voodoo lagfix beta 5 is your best bet.
With both, I like Tatuyama's ROM, I find it the most stable. The only competition really is DocRambone.
and this has what todo with DEV?
Firmware JPA
CF Root
Voodoo lagfix pre-3
here is what i am using now

Look in Android Development subforum here. You'll find custom kernels to do what you want.

Today's GB rom is smooth enough, no lagfix is needed.
If you need ext4, the famous Voodoo or Speedmod also is the solution for you.

[Q] Question about Voodoo Lagfix Ext4 for GT I9000 DXJV9

Hi everybody,
I updated my firmware from Kier to 2.3.3 with GT-I9000 DXJV9 version, which Ext4 would suit my phone? I found the thread from Supercurio and got these version:
1.Stock+Ext4 Kernel JVO, update 1
Gingerbread-GT-I9000-XXJVO-stock-kernel+hacks.tar
2. Stock+Ext4 Kernel JVH, update 1:
Gingerbread-GT-I9000-XWJVH-stock-kernel+hacks.tar
3. Stock+Kernel JVB and prior (won't be updated):
Gingerbread-GT-I9000-stock-kernel+hacks.tar
I am running DXJV9, would any of the JVO or JVH suit my phone?
Your help is much appreciated. Many thanks!!!
