[Q] Email contacts - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have just set up my Admin email account I use for our football club to email our committee members. What I wanted to know is there a way I can create a folder in contacts and just call it committee, the reason I ask is that I don't have phone numbers for members just email addresses and as we have 40 committee members I wanted to know if there was a quicker way than adding each member one at a time (group email) I am using the the email app already installed on phone. Just like to point out this isn't a Gmail account.
The reason I ask is that when I press on the 'To' line I have to start typing an address but it brings up all my contacts.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Go to gmail contacts on your desktop and create an email group.
You can just use the group name later, even on your phone.

Just go to "messaging" from "start" and open e-mail accounts.
You can delete or add new accounts from this application.

hi,
thank you for the reply, but my case a bit strange.
I found this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=404851&highlight=email+account
I can see the account icon shows at the right hand side (TouchFlo3D interface), but when i click at "Menu"->"Accounts"->"Accounts...", the email account didn't listed there
Therefore, I try to create for another email acount and use back the same account name, the system prompt me that I have to use a different account name (eg. Yahoo!) as the email account name already in use (although there is no any email account listed there). So, I change the account name to "Yahoo!-2" and now in the account list only listed this newly created email account (but the dummy email account i created still remain invicible and cannot get rid of it). Please help

How to choose outgoing email account in 2.1 email app?

Thanks to htcclay's glorious SuperBad I am enjoying Eclair godness.
One thing I was wondering is, how can you choose the account which is used to send an email with the email app (not the GMail app!).
I have successfully set up an exchange email account and a private email account (imap) and do recieve emails (including push emails). The combined email inbox is great, too.
But if you use something like the 3d gallery app and want to share a photo, you can select email as the sharing option, compose the email BUT there is no option to choose from which email account to actually send the mail...? What am I missing here, tipps & hints welcomed ;-)

[Q] Can't Join Contacts! Need Help!

Hi all.
I've done a restore for my i9000 and I lost my contacts. I've imported them again from gmail, as oppose to the first time I purchased the phone, I than copied my contacts from my sim card.
Now I have all the contacts with the 'g' mark next to them. I've added my facebook account and imported my contacts from there as well.
I'm trying to join duplicate contacts to a single contact so I would have the photo taken from facebook and the rest of the detail from gmail.
I than click on a contact from gmail and select JOIN Contacts which leads me to a screen with GET FRIENDS button (did I mentioned that I've already imported my facebook contacts?). Now I'm suppose to see the duplicated in order to join but I see nothing.
I click on the GET FRIENDS and then FACEBOOK account and then I choose the contact I want to join.
It doesn't join, it simply imports the contact to my contact list and it is displays it next to the gmail contact rather have them joined.
I've tried the other way, of clicking the facebook contact and join it to gamil contact, doesn't help.
It used to work for me.
Please help me fix it.
Thanks

[Q] Change default GMail sending address

Hi guys,
I'm having a rather strange issue since I got my Black, as I've set up two different GMail accounts on my device, my personal account (to which the phone is also registered to), as well as another "work" gmail account to which all my work emails are being forwarded to.
The actual problem is each time I want to send an email via gmail (for example, I'm checking out a photo, hit share, select gmail), it automatically selects the second account added, and I've found no way to select the default "send from" account. Any clue how can I tell the phone which email address I want to send emails from by default using the gMail app?
thanks!

My OP3T is also sync with my office exchange for emails, contacts & calendars. When you want to call or send email, if you begin to type the contact name a live search is made on the exchange directory.

Thanks for your answer. May I know which email client are you using please?
I am using Gmail to sync with my exchange server and it seems to only search for my 500 contacts but not the exchange directory.
As for calls , do you mean once you key in the 1st few numbers it will begin to search for those in the exchange directory as well? Doesn't seems like mine is doing it though.

I also use Gmail email client with Exchange. Your personal contacts and suggested contacts address book are localy sync on your phone.
GAL sync is a contact provider, so the search work in all apps with the contact capability. GAL contacts are search online.
I am the Exchange sysadmin of my office and I already seen some issues like this. Exchange can handle a limited number of activesync devices (10 AFAIR).
Ask you Exchange sysadmin to clean your devices pairing, delete your Exchange account on your phone and add it again.
Hope that help.

Ho I forgot it. You can clean your devices yourself.
In a web browser, open your exchange account in Outlook Web App (exchange webmail UI) of your organization.
On the top/right open "Options" menu, and click "see all options". it will bring you in ECP (exchange control panel).
On the left you have a phone item, select one by one devices and the black cross (delete).
