Hi everyone,
I'm using SGS Indian version with stock 2.1 i9000DDJG4. I can't get into the service mode on my phone using *#*#197328640#*#*. Though I'm able to use most of the other codes Test mode, GPS settings etc.
When I dial the service mode code nothing happens, the code disappears and keypad remains on the screen and no service mode settings appears.
I wanted to try the sound quality fix from supercurio

I also tried the following app but no benefit. The app also just dials the code. When I click Service Mode from the app, just keypad appears nothing else

Any idea ??
Thanks in advance

It might help if you would use the correct code: *#197328640#
Hi Richthofen,
Thanks for your reply. I tried the code you posted *#197328640# and got the same result. After dialing code disappears as it should, but nothing happened.
Should I flash to any other rom? Do anybody have I9000DDJG4 original rom's backup? Actually I want to flash to any 2.2 rom available here. But want a backup of my stock rom. In case I want to claim warranty I can flash back to my original stock rom.
Sorry if I asked any obvious question. Actually its my first Android phone so don't have any experience.
Thanks

While attempting to find if my product code had changed when inputting the "number" into the dialer, My Pcode said NOT ACTIVE. Instead of I9000.....
And so i tried to restore the UK product code with XEU, but not look still says.
Pcode: NOTACTIVE
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

same problem.

I have the same problem.. going crazy.
Suggestions ?
Hi all,
I recently bought my phone (no provider, it was SIM Lock free), after entering the magic digit combinations i got the following.
*2767*4387264636#
SELLOUT SMS
[1]Sellout SMS: OFF
[2]PCode:Not Active
[3]Moderod
*#1234#
PDA:I9000XFJS2
Phone:I9000XXJPY
CSC:I9000XFJS3
Built info:2011.01.
The problem is how can I activate my Pcode? When I connect to PC, and I'm using Kies, it's written "This device ca not be updated". This phone was not rooted, I did factory hard reset, but the problem wa the same.
Any suggestions? THX
Hy, I updated to jm6 froyo and now when I try to enter the csc menu by tapping in the dialer *#2727*HHMM# nothing happens. Anyone with a solution?

Hi,
I just had a quick question regarding restoring IMEI & Product code. Im with Rogers and currently on Cog2.3b8. i have flashed a few roms already and so far my IMEI is fine and hasn't been changed. When i check the product code it shows up as I-896xxATT (Not really the code but just to give an idea.), so i know its the wrong product code for Rogers. My question is this, should i fix the product code while I'm currently on Cog? Everything is running fine and no issues. Also, if i fix the product code from my backup to the Rogers one will i have any issues??
I just basically want to know if its worth fixing the product code if everything is running fine, and what is the benefit?
Thanks.

As long as IMEI is fine, you don't need to fix the product code. Product code is just for your sake. As long as you know what product it is, it should be fine.. (until u sell your phone)
Thank you!
I guess ill leave it be for now. I finally got everything running great, no ATT logo on boot, No SMS timestamp problems, so i just wont mess around with it.
I guess if i ever flash to a stock Rogers rom, or go back to stock before flashing a rom for whatever reason, i can restore the correct product ID at that point.
Thanks again.
If you did want to change your PC and ensure you've got the original IMEI code, check here for instructions
I had recently got my Note's board replaced. When i got back my phone from the Samsung Service Center and i tried connecting it to Kies it showed the current firmware was the LRB/LR4 version but the CSC code which is displayed in parenthesis was XXX and not INU. Also on little bit of further checking i found that the serial number of my phone which is found in the Settings->About Phone->Status menu was 00000000000 instead of the serial number given under the battery. When i went back to the service center, the person there blabbered some god damm excuse which did not convince me. He said that the serial number is written but is not displayed and will be displayed when the next update comes for my phone. Please help me get out of this issue.
Not sure about the serial number but the CSC can be changed using the code *#272*IMEI#. Then choose INU. This will reset the phone and wipe data. So make sure you are on a safe kernel.
I have already tried the CSC change code but its not working!!
After this repair you should have warranty again. So do not change anything, go back to the Samsung Service Center and if the person makes his "blabla" again, simply ask for his boss.
Thanks ThaiDai ill try it today and let you know!!

I also had similar problem. Note's board was replaced and after that Kies was showing CSC as XXX, however serial number shown in phone settings app was correct. Kies was showing an error message that the device's firmware can not be upgraded. After 4.1.2 was released, I went to service center again and got the firmware updated to 4.1.2. Now the CSC code is INU. Kies detects the phone correctly. Phone interface is very smooth on Jelly bean and there is no lag in dialer/contacts application.
