I've been using K-9 for a while and it has been working great, but since I upgraded to 2.2 it doesnt seem to notify about new mails.
I have of course checked the settings in K-9 and it should notify.
When I have K-9 open it receivs mails instantly and if I do not have it open when I get a mail it seems to download them anyway, cause all the new mails are already downloaded when I open it up.
So I think it's more about the notification rather than K-9 not getting the mail.
I have reinstalled it but still the same.
Any ideas?
Edit: Now it suddenly started to work. Dont know why or how but I'm happy.

I use K-9 as my phone based email client. This weekend I changed ROMs from
Cyan's latest to Dwang 1.11. Also, I updated k-9 1.010 ....so I am not
sure what caused this change...
For my job, I must keep my phone on 24-7, and I have always used "close
everything 2" to close the k-9 process whenever I go to sleep so that I
don't get email notifications all night.
Last night, I closed k-9 as usual, but it kept giving me email
notifications. I finally had to open up k-9 and set the email check
frequency to "never"
Does anyone know a good and SIMPLE way to kill k-9 or its notifications
without setting it to never check for mail since I have to do this every night?
I'm currently running ZenEXP and K-9 Mail because it does push and Zenulator hasn't got push running yet on the stock client. K-9 is cool, I like it and it is fast but I have two issues:
1) I get notified every time a new email comes in and this bugs me. The stock Gmail push client will notify me once when a new email comes in and then quietly collect any new emails until I check them, then it starts over. This is great as it let's me sleep without hearing the "new mail" notification all night long. Has anyone who uses K-9 figured out how to make it work like the stock client and only notify once until I check?
2) Is there an "unread Mail" widget anywhere I can put on my main screen? I used to use one called "Gmail Unread Count" from the market but I can't find one for K-9
Thanks folks....
I use the Email app (Vegan 1.5.1) to check a pop email account. I get the new mail notification from it even when there's no "new" mail (i.e., I get mail, touch the notification to see the mail, and close the email).
I'm thinking it might be because some of them are unread, however, it would be nice if it only notified when there was actual new mail. Which I'm pretty sure is what the Gmail app does (I haven't noticed the same problems).
Is there any way to fix?
yea its because some of them are unread. Happens to me on my gtab and my droid 2
I actually like the stock LG rom for the most part and I like using the stock LG Email to sync my gmail account because I can get the email notification on my lock screen.. Here's the problem.. lets say I go into Gmail from my computer and read the email... my phone doesnt pick up that the email is no longer new and still shows I have email! even if I delete the message from Gmail, the LG client still shows its there. I have to actually open the LG client, back out of gmail (from within the client) so it refreshes and it only then shows there is no new email but I Still have to delete the same email I previously deleted from Gmail on my computer...
Thoughts? Hope I didnt loose anyone lol...
Hi everyone,
I have updated my Xperia Z1 to Lollipop yesterday and sofar I am happy with the update overall.
Except for one thing.
Since the update I can't get my Exchange mail to work.
At first I can setup the mailaccount and everything goes fine (as long as I sync Contacts first, the Calendar and then Email, otherwise it won't download contacts and calendar items). But after setting it up, it syncronizes once and after that no more mail is being downloaded.
A manual refresh of the inbox throws the error "Cannot connect to server".
Sending emails is working fine, they are immediately delivered, but receiving them isn't.
If I look at the logs on the firewall and Exchange server I don't even see any connections when I manually refresh.
What I have tried sofar:
- Delete and reconfigure Exchange on the device.
- Set the options to "Allow all certificates"
- Tried the Outlook for Android app, this works fine, but doesn't fill my contacts, so it's not usable for me.
- Disabled TLS 1.2 on the exchange server (Read on several pages that TLS 1.2 handshakes on 5.0.x don't work nicely and this might be the cause)
- Deleted the sync-relationship through OWA
I am seriously baffled by the fact that it syncs once after setup and then stops receiving mail, but stil sends mail.
Anybody who had the same problem or might have some tricks I could try?
