Well,i don't know why my RAM usage doesn't go to the max level...I mean the only %of max RAM which my device uses is 45%.After that all i have to perform is a soft reset coz the device gets desperately slow beyond 45-46% of RAM usage...Any way to figure out why this happens and why doesn't the device use memory beyond the 45-46% mark?
Will keep updated with the pics whenever possible!
Alryt...Here's a clear picture of what i want to convey.I reset the device and get about 32% RAM usage. Then after the device usage escalates with time, the RAM usage % increases....Yeaterday,at 42% usage,my device refused to be fast in spite of being overclocked to 288MHz.Why can't the device RAM usage reach its peak to sum 90-95% atleast?

there is no matter to CPU speed and ram i think
maybe ur device got a virus or u installed a wrong app
try to uninstall ur last app that u've installed. if the problem didn' fix, have a hard reset

Whats the max % upto which your deice uses the RAM?
Thats the current stats of the device storage being used by my Opal!
I tried stressing my device today, and opened like 8 or 10 programs at the same time. Memory usage peaked at 75% but the device didn't slow down or anything. However, when I tried opening more programs, the device started closing other processes to make room for new ones, probably because the maximum number of process slots has been reached (32 slots max.).
Anyway, the performance was the same, either with extra programs running, or just basic programs. I never experienced any performance degradation.
It's gotta be like Mr.Zeus suggested, some specific program is slowing down your device, try closing your programs one by one to know which one is slowing your Opal down.
Does it happen when you hard-reset too? I mean before you install any other app?

Yes.It happens after i hard reset.I didn't install any apps and then used the device. But then, the device RAM started escalating..Again,i will start by using the device with no app installed.Lets see if it happens again!
Alryt,i re-flashed the ROM[the one in my sig] and then installed only some specific apps that i need including the overclocking tools..I guess,i can't resist installing the Omap overclocking tool,as,after the overclocking, the speed is much faster...Stil,i gues i suspect overclocking for the problem...Will uninstall it and report!

The maximum usage upto which u can use ur rom is i think 96%, i got 96% once and nothing more than that, after that its like compression actually. like u have only 1gb ram in ur computer and u open programs that ultimately sum up to lets say 1.1 gb, ur main core files gets compresses and gets stored in ur hdd, in this case i belive ur main memory(not sure about this, but im sure of what happens in ur desktop, so i just extrapolated things)...
and when u overclock ur mobile there is indeed room for errors and when errors occur, it automatically slows down ur device, coz more ram is dedicated in treating the error and restarting the error caused service if a core service...
and i found out that overclocking device indeed damages ur processor coz instructions are forced to do at greater speeds rather that instructions fed at a normal speed.....

Hey Shreyas!
(Long time huh?) just wanted to inform you, like Zeus said, its select programs that cause the issue, and these programs needn't cause it as soon as yo install it, it can take its time with causing the issue. btw, pushing you ram and memory usage to 96% isn't a good thing, its best performance when its as low as possible, high percentage shows that the device needs to work that hard to get the job done, low memory usage shows it can achieve all those tasks that much easier.

Hi, I 'm facing this problem for a long time, I haven't found any solution yet.
When the phone is awake, everything goes well, I can surf, send and receive whatsapps, etc, whenever I want.
After I lock it and it goes into sleep state, I still can receive whatsapps for about 5-10 minutes. But after that I no longer receive anything.
Sometimes I receive them an hour later after they were sent.
After that, when I unlock the phone, it always shows the network data icon, enabled and active , but when I try to surf or chat, 95% of times, I don't have internet, it stays loading forever, until I disable and re-enable the data.
Of course, after this , I installed an app to check my network traffic, called "network monitor mini".
When this error happens, I have 0 bytes being transferred, whatever I do or open, nothing is able to communicate over internet, until I reset the data and it works again.
This happens to me in all roms, LG stock, Zeus and also CM7.
Is anybody having this issues too? Or how to fix it, check the causes or wtf is happening there?
For now I have been unlocking the phone every 15-20 minutes and checking if it has data conection.
Thanks

Maybe its a good thing to wipe everything with smartflash tool and then installing the custom rom, to ensure that everything is erased.
Who knows, I'll try it in a while...

good luck
That happen to me a few times, but its wierd cause sometimes it goes into a really deep sleep i.e. downloading something from market and phone locks itself, after a while I unlock it and "downloading %" is the same when it locked [wifi is set to "always on" of course]...
The rest of the time is ok, which is almost all the time, actually I haven't had that issues from a few months ago... BTW I'm now using supressedV7
I've got the exact same problem. I initially had it with stock rom, then I changed to zeus and had it there as well.
However I stuck with Zeus and the problem went away after a few of his updates.
I received SODs with Zeus though so I changed to Suppressed ROM and then the data problem was back.
I'm now on rooted stock V20G, but I haven't had a chance to test the data yet.
I had it before too with all roms except lemmings then with boype cm7 it seemed like it went away too until two days ago .... sigh... sometimes I just leave the wifi on and that seems to help abit...
just sayin....
Ok right now I'm trying out this app "3g connection fixer" from the market. It automatically restarts the 3g connection when it detects a problem. Seems to be working well so far. I don't see any actions from the app but I am keeping my connection better since 8pm last night. Might be worth a shot
-----------------
Update 27082012
Ok the connection fixer app was a hit and miss for me, now I'm using this cooltool from market seems to be better, no doubt the app seems unrelated to the problem but I believe the loss in connection is due to radio going into deep sleep and not being able to wake up promptly. This app runs in the background and somewhat prevents that from happening I think..... of course that's just my assumption, but my data and phone seems to be running well after installing this app since 2 days ago..... and it also has a cool floating widget that moves (see screenshot)

Hey, what was this new app you are using. My problem still persists
Its called cool tool from the market another one you could try is wakelock from darken both help me with my problem but it still does happen sometimes

I also had that problem sometimes. You should change the title to "data connection" not only data, cause this sounds a bit confusing. But what ROM are you using/are you sure, it happens in all? Maybe it's one of the build.prop or other "tweaks" that cause the problem... Try to flash only stock with root and see if it also happens there. I dont have the problem currently, with my own selfmade ROM, without any of those "tweaks"...
With stock its fine also with lemmings and Zeus up till v4ish I think (when huexx ) implemented the toggles with boype it happens too but alot less
just sayin....

It's not really a new ROM, I just flashed the v20s European version, injected CWM, flashed superuser.zip, uninstalled some apk's I dont need, added supercharger. I simply didnt use any so called "Tweaks" since they often seem to bring more problems (at least in my opinion), than they actually bring of advantage... I mean LG doesnt use those tweaks for a reason what that reason is? I dont know, but probably incompatibility with some user behaviour or some networks/phones. That's why I am on stock GB, till we get ICS, cause I need a reliable phone.

It might be network related because it happens with different ROM's, and most probably it's about the fast dormancy thing.
Don't blame the "good ol' phone" for nothing.
I still have the problem with stock ROM and I have tried different SIM cards. I have now sent the phone back to LG and we will see what solution they come up with...
OOk, so I decided to flash Slim Bean 3.0.1 out of curiosity as I know my cappy has SOD issues when not running stock GB but this seems to be different from it.
To my knowledge the SOD issues mostly involve random reboots and shutdowns. My problem is a bit different.
Now mind you up until this morning I haven't had a single issue, it's been working flawlessly. Last night I decided to grab one of my favorite battery savers, Green Power Free. Now I'm not blaming the app, it's just the last thing I installed before all this happened. I've since un installed it but now every time I lock my phone, whether it be by my lock button, Button Savior, whatever, it reboots.
The thing is it doesn't even seem like a full reboot. Instead of doing the ATT logo, then the Semaphore logo, then SlimBean logo like it normally does. It only pops up with the Slim Bean logo. It also doesn't run the media scan. Also this weird toast message "Have a nice day" has been popping up since I installed Green power and even with the un install it still persists.
I don't really think this is SOD but if it is then I guess it's back to GB for me.
If there is anymore information I can provide please just ask, I'll gladly provide you with whatever info you need.
On that note, Captivate Keep Alive doesn't work.

It's a hot-reboot. The phone runs out of ram and reboots itself for safety. As you noticed, it's doesn't turn off, it simply resets everything and start fresh from being overwhelmed.
Imo, you have something draining your ram, a rogue app or a bad backup.
So first thing, did you make any changes (mods/settings)? Did you restore your apps/data? Do you have Deep Idle turned on?
Next, that Green power app seems to install more than it should on your phone, I would suggest to look into that and uninstall anything else that it installed.
Look under your Apps (in settings) to see what's running and using your ram. If you see something unusually high, stop it and might wanna concider unistalling whichever app it is, just make sure it's something you don't need. Also, look at your battery stats to see if there's something top or 2nd that isn't screen on.
Have you tried running the ROM without any restore or mods? Or even without any extra apps, just with the Gapps. I'm thinking the issue is coming from a app you're using.
Another thing that might help is to OC to 1200 and run a bigmem version of your kernel (if you don't already). But those 2 shouldn't be needed.
I've never heard of that before but now that you say it that makes complete sense.
RAM has always been an issue for me on this phone, I usually only have maybe 44 mb of free RAM. I do my best to keep it down but it's hard. I had this issue with GB as well.
As for anything involving the ROM, no. Nothing extra, I did get the Gapps but other than this I have not messed with any setting as I feel I didn't know enough to go changing anything.
I'll watch my running services for a bit and report back with my findings. I'm glad it's possibly not SOD.
EDIT:
I do believe you were spot on, I went in and cleared out my running services list and my phone isn't acting up.
Is there anything you can suggest I use to prevent this from happening again? I've seen some RAM managers and such on the market but I wasn't sure which to pick, if any.
Here is my battery stuff.

Well first off, I would get a new modem, the one you have doesn't seem all too great in your area. (unless you're in a basement or bad coverage area?)
For ram, grab Semaphore manager from the market and enable Bigmem (requires reboot and breaks 720p recording). Also, whichever extra process you stopped that were up the roof, I would highly suggest unistalling if it's not something important, like a market app (no system process eh).

Bad coverage area. I'm in a small rural town where I work, but I live in a bigger city a little ways off, full bars all the time there lol. I actually had to flash a new modem when I got SlimBean, it's working great.
Well I ended up just killing everything not system apps to see what my RAM looked like and I got it down to 138mb. I also grabbed RAM booster off the market and it's keeping me around 100mb of free space.
I'll go grab the stuff you mentioned now and see what that does.
Thanks for the help. :3

I would uninstall RAM booster if I were you, it's a auto-kill app, which will drain your battery from killing apps that keep restarting and on top of that, it uses 39mb of ram itself!? That's insane. Just get Semaphore manager, it's made to work with your kernel and if you feel like you need the extra ram, enable Bigmem in the app's settings.

I figured it be a battery drain. These things usually are. I don't know if this makes any difference but I do have ROM Toolbox Pro. I know it has App Manager in it, I'll poke at it and see what it can do.

The 720p thing, that's for video recording right?

I haven't looked much into ROM Toolbox Pro but I'm sure you'll be just fine with Bigmem as long as you keep track of your processes.
And yes, it breaks 720p video recording. Can be disabled though if you wanna use it.
Bigmem is definitely doing the trick. I've stayed around 100mb of free RAM since I activated it.
And that's actually fine with me, I have never recorded a video anyways so it won't even make a difference to me. Awesome.
I'm so glad it wasn't SOD thanks again for all the help.

You can downgrade just fine without losing data! If you're on newest, just downgrade to .352 (untick APPSLOG, CACHE, DATA) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2469191)
Root with Vroot and then installed Dualrecovery (https://mega.co.nz/#!zNBjCLgK!RloqhT...TL-eSonTz4VBX4)
Flash (in Recovery) pre-rooted 257 fw (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2440408) + BusyBox/SU (http://d-h.st/M10)
Flash (in Flashtool) kernel/baseband from 257 stock tft (ticking everything except kernel/baseband) (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2469191)
Restart phone and reinstalled recovery.
You don't need to wipe any data when downgrading, upgrading. I didn't and it works just fine. Not saying it can't cause problems though.

There's almost everything already answered on XDA threads, so try to check, you'll find many useful things.
And yeah...you will not broke flaps, believe me.
I have Xperia S over a year and flaps are still fine
They are very, very good and hard...
BTW - I would recommend you to buy a USB cable with a magnetic connector to easily charge your device.
It's easier than open flaps every single night
Also, you can easily root 257 - you just have to check XDA Z1 threads and you'll see hiw it's easy...

how i root on 275 easily !! i searched alot
and what about other questions ??
This may sound stupid but I'm looking at potentially getting the Z1. How do you use the usb cables with magnetic connectors to charge your phone? Excuse my ignorance I've never heard of anything like that until now....
Sent from my EVO using xda app-developers app
On the left side of the Z1 there is a place to put a dock or to connect with magnetic cable instead of the normal charging area as it so easy than to open flap and connect with regular one

You asked for an easy way to root. It's already easy, it's 4 clear steps .
1. Dunno, perhaps you're a bit insecure? They still work fine here, although I read some reports of people where they pop out too easily after a while.
2. As far as I know the dock dimensions differ just enough so that you are NOT able to use the Z dock.
3. Haven't noticed this
4. No such issue here, it this both on wifi as on data connection?
5. As far as I know it only tells you these kinds of things the first time and then you get an option right away to NOT display this again.
6. I'd say it would slow things down... A phone has memory for a reason, quick access. IOf it's in the background it shouldn't be using excessive battery anyway and if everything has to be started from scratch it could easily even take up more battery. Why disable it if you have no clear idea of the effect?
7. Manual 4:3, 8MP... Play around with the settings (mainly white balance and EV in the 'hard csaes'). Auto mode increases ISO too easily.
8. Install better battery stats, also... Check which processes take up the battery (the info you gave us tells us nothing). Do you have GPS and things like that always on? Bluetooth? Etc?
9. There simply is no root yet for the latest firmware, why? Dunno, apparently the standard ways do not work and ppl have not yet found a new way. Wait if yiou want, but it might take a while. Downgrouding, roioting and then updating is the only way for now.SweFox explained the process above (just replace the php?t=xxxxxx parts from the url with the ones in his links).
But you seem to be pushing buttons and changing settings you have no clue of, that's not making things better. Try one and see what effect it has, eliminate casues that way,

thx alot man your effort is appreciated .
1- lets hope that it will stick to its position
2-okay
3- okay
4- on data connection i didnt try on wifi may be it will work]
5- no it always give me this annoyning pop up
6-i disabled it
7- i dont know i thought that automatic mode will fit my usage but apparently it didnt . so in your opinion 8mp in manual mode is better than 20 ? so why they made it 20 mp !!
8-what is better battery status ? really battery issue is a pain in the ass !! im posting these pic to show how it works

9- i will give it a try
For battery problems checkout Greenify (you need to be rooted) app. Sometimes apps like facebook take your battery life while staying in the background that can cause potential wakelocks. Greenify will force those types of apps to shut off. I dont own Z1 but this app increased my battery life by %30-40 for sure.
i will give it a try once i root my mobile . but honestly im very sad with battery performance as it is my 4th day and it drains so fast so what about after one or 2 monthes when my z1 will be filled with apps and games !!
What is your screen brightness set to?
Hi..
I just purchased a P9 and I am pretty certain something is wrong. The battery life has been really bad from day one. I have updated to android 7, without improvements. The phone even gets hot (around 39-40 degress celsius) from just browsing simple apps like facebook. The phone was at 100 procent 6,5 hours ago and now I am at 20%, and I haven't really been using it a lot.. I attached some pictures, they are in Danish, but I think you should be able to understand the point - otherwise let me know.
Thanks in advance

I know this would improve the battery life a bit, but I don't want to turn that stuff off, since I use it
You could also do a factory reset and in the worst case send it in. The high temperatures are normal (I think) and my phone the EVA-AL10 has also temperatures around 40°C
I guess I will have to try factory resetting. Could it be it came with faulty software from the factory, since it has been like this from day one?
Yes, could be or also a hardware error.
I had problems on my old device, a S 3 Neo running CM 12.1 and a custom kernel. For some time it didn't even charge and had a bad battery life so I needed to reflash the kernel.

Why would you keep on GPS, bluetooth and Wifi went you are not using it? it will just drain the battery
Mine has 20 hours and I just have wifi on while I listen to my music.
Return the phone immediately. It is not normal at all, it may pose safety risk due to the possibility of the battery leaks (imagine the short circuit in the battery makes the phone heating up).
The only thing I don't keep on is Bluetooth and NFC and I get pretty good battery life.

Jesus Christ, when I read such post I seriously think that some people here NEVER leave their rooms and have no idea how other people live...
Its the same reasoning like I would say that I dont use Facebook... so why others use it? its waste of time, turn it off!
Or why do you set high brightness of screen on your phone? Keep it low, and look for shadow if you want to check something on your phone!
Open your eyes and look at some aspect of your life in wider perspective. Some people actually buy phones that have GPS, NFC, Bluetooth and WiFi because they use it.
GPS? I use it lots of time in my car, and also I have enabled localization in it if I would lost it(or it would be stolen)
Lots of people use Bluetooth headsets and other devices, I for example use sport smartband.... that guess what? use bluetooth to connect witch my phone!
NFC? I, and probably mosts of people use NFC as a paying method, I have synced my card with it and I pay using my phone.
WiFi? Well isnt that obvious? we all use internet all the time, and some people, like me don like spending all mobile data limit so quick, so we use WiFi.
So now you should get it, that if someone use such features, it would be SUPER ANNOYING, and slow as hell to turn it on and off all the time just to use it everytime we need it.
I have all that enabled and... guess what? I still can get two days of normal usage on my P9.
If someone have problem with battery, turning off half of the phone features IS NOT A SOLUTION.
Looking at informations provide by OP, its more a software problem or even Hardware so first of all full factory reset is must have, then if it still occur, flash other version of OS, so make sure that current one is not bugged. Then if its not help, its obvious hardware issue, and should be dealt by Huawei support or any show that is licensed by them to fix their devices.

Because we bought a SMARTphone. My battery is bad too, after the update to EMUI 5. My usage is the same as with MM, and now is terrible. I did a factory reset, but it didn't change anything.

Thank you. I guess that sums up my own reasons why I have these things turned on.
I will factory reset later and see if the problem is solved
Thanks for alle the replies!
If you will make full factory reset, I would suggest instead flash new ROM if you know how and you have time for that.
Knowing life, and knowing how random those battery problems are, you can eliminate two probable causes of that: 1. bugged system configuration 2. bugged system version it self. You can choose the same OS version that you currently have, its a matter of "making sure" that its good.
I also noticed that your media server and mobile signal take a bit too much battery that it should. Media server is responsible for refreshing and accessing music/video/pictures by other apps, especially music players used in background can force it to work all the time. Just make sure that media apps dont work in the background when they dont need to.
In terms of Mobile signal, I suggest using 2G/3G mode without LTE, that is seriously crappy technology totally not optimized for mobile devices. Also as far as you dont stream/download fullHD videos, 3G mode is really sufficient for daily usage.
Also few tips about making sure that your apps dont use what they dont need to:
1. In settings go to battery option and then "close apps after screen is turned off". Turn off ALL apps, and leave only those that need to work in background, like WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.
2. Turn on Power Saving mode, I didnt notice any performance drops, so its should not make your life harder :]
3. Use Huawei app for optimization(eg, create that small widget for it). Its really handy and even if difference is small, it can make keep battery life longer + its delete trash files from phone. Its small and compared to other separate apps like that, its doing just one job and nothing more.
4. Check your apps permissions option in settings. turn off access to part your device that app dont really need.
5. Most important: Go to your app list, and turn off internet access in "data usage" section. Especially turn off background internet access for apps that dont need internet if they are not used. I personally turn off access for most off apps and games, because most of them use internet only to shw ads... so its really handy.
check the protected apps
im pretty sure they all are set to active even after screen off

A bit ott there. I was just suggesting it, I have seen maybe people who leave gps etc when they dont need it on.
When you in a building gps does not work that well, so for it drains the battery looking for a signal.
That is all I was pointing out.

I'm running EMUI 5.0 (B378) and my battery drains like crazy.
Even with no active usage of the phone, I hardly get 12h of battery life.
On EMUI 4.x (same apps installed!) I've gotten 24-48h even with several phone calls during the day, WhatsApp chatting, Bluetooth audio streaming and 1-2h WiFi tethering. Loved it!
Unfortunately I couldn't find the root cause for this yet, but with their Nougat update Huawei completely ruined the P9. I really hope, they'll release an optimized version soon!

Same for me. I did a rollback to MM 2 hours ago.
1. I use redmi note 10 pro. But for a few days my battery is getting drained like 14-20% when the phone is idle, during sleep at night.
I looked in the battery and performance section. There was nothing serious.
I think there's something running in the background which is hiding itself from the system.
In the router configuration page, I found my device sent heavy packages. I thought to do a factory reset but I was thinking if theres another way out.
So I was looking for a task manager which will show me the background running programs cause I can't find it in developer options.
I worry much and I really can't stop thinking that something is mining in my device.
2. And I got an update of miui 13 but I didn't download the update and I can't find it now. I restarted my device several times.
3. The last thing. In the first phase, the 64 MP shots used to take like 30-50 MB and now its like 5-12 MB. And normal shots were like 7-12 MB and now its 2-3. Its so disappointing and theres also details loss. Also I can't find 64 mp in gcam. And gcam .jpg size is totally fine.
Any way to fix them all without installing custom rom?
1. Happens the same to me since I bought it in May. Could not find any solution yet. Sometimes it loses a lot of charge while idle, sometimes it doesn't lose any at all. I tried everything from restricting background usage for all apps that don't have notifications, resetting to factory settings and even flashing MIUI again. Warranty didn't find any problem.
2. Happened to me too for some updates. Got the notification then it disappeared.
3. No idea.
It is so frustrating having this kind of a package only to screw it up with a bad software. Still regret buying this phone.

1. Sorry to say, but the only way i solved it is with flashing a custom kernel. VantomKernel worked the best. From 20% battery drain overnight to 3%. YukiKernel works too, but has an error message every time you reboot the phone.
