seen the galaxy s II 2.3 with touchwiz 4.0 and the ui seems nicer. implementing new way to add widgets and other stuffs.
are we going to get that with our old galaxy s?
but 1 thing annoys me most is that, there is NO SCREEN OFF ANIMATION!!! [is there?]
which is one off the coolest thing i look forward in getting gingerbread.
I don't think we will ever get 2.3 on our i9000 devices. Samsung wants us to buy their new phone to get 2.3. Samsung is not apple, they don't really care about their existing userbase as much as apple does.
I highly doubt we will get 2.3, since thats what SGS2 comes with.

I am almost certain we'll get 2.3, it will just take time.
The Galaxy S is going to be a dominate seller in many markets for months to come, and some versions of it (like the Infuse) have yet to even ship.
We'll see Gingerbread, it will just take time.
Personally, I'm putting my faith in CM7 which is great already and only getting better.
well if u dont want still pictures CWM7 seems to be working perfectly fine and with gingerbread launcher its stock 2.3.2
We will get it.
I am sure, We will get 2.3 base ROM and of course , TouchWiz 4.0 as well ...
I think its the only way samsung can create base for TouchWiz users ...
Would be mistake if Samsung will not release 2.3 for SGS ... I am sure, 2.3 would be last update for SGS as well.
SGS 2 out followed by price drop on SGS 1 followed by 2.3 update .
jje
They will probably release an update after SGS2 will reach a certain amount of sale number.
i m gussng we will get android 2.4
Dont think so ...
But, we will get GingerBread with New thouchWiz .... It makes no sense to maintain two diff. TouchWiz for Same version of Android ... Too much efforts ...
Point is ... When will we get it ???

I suspect you're right.
Samsung (from a sales point of view) would be stupid to give us all Gingerbread with Touchwiz 4.0 *right now*, as the only differential then to Galaxy S2 would be processor and screen. Samsung rightly want to push sales of the S2.
I'm guessing that once S2 has been out for a while (3 months say), then Samsung will release the pre-made Gingerbread firmwares for select older phones. As the Galaxy S has been (and will continue to be in lesser markets) a very strong sales device, I expect we'll then see Gingerbread on the S.
Of course, the reason Apple works in a different way is because to them everything is about keeping their userbase. They need to do this as there's no one else selling an iOS phone and so to protect their market share, they need to keep their users (reduce churn). Of course, from a sales perspective, they'd be *FAR* better off to never release an update for an older device; which is generally why you always find those updates are not-quite-so-good, or somewhat-slower than they need be on older devices.
(of course, there's nothing to stop some nice people leaking Samsung's dev. builds of Gingerbread for the Galaxy S)

You are missing:
-more RAM
-21 Mbps quad-band HSPA+ radio
-better GPU

It's a better phone.
Now Samsung should still release 2.3 for the Galaxy S if they want people to consider them as a reliable company supporting their products.

Agreed.
They still have to release the source code which can then be ported to the SGS by other people. We don't know how easy that will be though.
I know a lot of people say they will avoid Samsung if they don't give proper updates and whatever, but they do use the best hardware in the phones.
The processors, GPUs, screens, sound processors... if only the quality of the software could match it.
All the phone manufacturers suck in their own ways. Motorola with their locked bootloaders and lack of updates (especially their non non-US phones), SE has that problem and lower end hardware in their phones, HTC sucks for sound quality and battery life, Nokia... well I shouldn't need to explain that
actually apple does the same through tricks.. you'll notice every major os + phone upgrade, the last phone upgrade sux balls
after 3-6month they provide an optimization update that makes the last phone perform properly.
they also voluntarily remove some software features (like wallpaper!!!) saying it needs "too much resources". Of course jail broken phone use these features on older phones without any problem.
Anyhow I wish some nice dudes leak the firmwares, too

so maybe we will get an update, i hope
For Samsung not releasing 2.3 for SGS1 is like shooting them self in the leg.
They will lose me and many others who already think that the best phones to buy are only Google's branded ones.
Personally, I will not buy any Samsung phone again and I don't care how good it is if this is direction things are going on.
PS
Crossing fingers for CM team.
I think threatening samsung of never buying from them again won't work...
After a few years you will eventually forget about it, or they will release a really good phone that would make you forget...
Not threatening, applying.
There is a reason why I've dumped iphone and as long as apple won't change their ways they can forget about me and people that I know.
Same goes with samsung. Dumping their clients support won't make them any good.

What phone are you going to buy then? The current Google branded one is Samsung anyway, and HTC only supported phones like the hero for a short time too (it's stuck on 2.1).
Let me know how your Windows Mobile turns out..
I remember reading news some time ago that said the Galaxy Tab 7" would be getting Gingerbread by the 1st Qtr of 2011. Well there's 2 days left and I haven't seen or heard anything about this..not even anything about it getting postponed.
I know we all want Honeycomb on our devices, i'm just being more realistic about what we can get now. A bunch of devices already have 2.3, when will the tab get it?
Does anyone have any news whatsoever about official firmware updates from Samsung?
It's Samsung. Did you REALLY expect to get any form of an update?

good point.....so 2.2 is a dead end for our TAB ?
The only rumour I heard came from SamFirmware, and it said end Q1, beginning Q2. However, since it wasn't from Samsung, you can't take it as fact.
See here.

What I think is that Galaxy Tab 7" is an already dead product for Samsung.
So, Samsung is an already dead brand for me. I will never ever buy anything else from them... it's too bad that after buying this product 3 months ago is already forgotten by Samsung

IMO, it's too early to say this.
Samsung are supposed to be releasing a WiFi only 7" Tab in April. It remains to be seen what they will do, support wise, after that.
We should also bear in the mind that the vast, vast, majority of recent smartphones haven't had a Gingerbread update yet either (at least not an official release), so I think it is premature to be calling Samsung out on this.
Even the Nexus One has only just had its official Gingerbread update, and that was "supposed" to get it first, but the Nexus S spoilt that party!
Personally, I would never say that I wouldn't buy manufacturer XYZ's devices ever again, because that's just setting yourself up for a fall when they release something really, really unique and desirable!

Dave

id agree with you usually but in the case of the what i like to call "galaxy try it on the consumers and if it sells we will make a proper one"
Im going back to HTC personally soon as I get chance, their lack of silence speaks volumes, they mouth off about new products and the all singing all dancing features, but the tab has to be one of the worst supported devices ive ever owned, the I9000 has had 2 leaks now for gingerbread with the last one said to be the RC
we have had all of what 3 "fixes" this year and one of those was bodged and none where official.

Is it really any surprise that the I9000, which has sold an order of magnitude more and was released several months prior to Tab, is getting more Gingerbread attention?
I'd expect the Tab release of Gingerbread to be built on top of the I9000 build, so this is pretty much what I'd expect.

the original Galaxy Tab is no dead product!
Samsung will keep this on the market, as they are ATM the only bigger company which has a 7" Tablet.
And they want to fit all user groups
7" 8.9" 10.1"
so if they are not as dumb as apple they need to bring an update for the tab!
but 2.3 will be dead and, as 3.0 needs an other license from google, and samsung will imho not pay for it...
lets hope too see an update!
How do you mean another license from Google?
Android has always been available for free, and although Honeycomb sourcecode has not been publicly released(yet!!), i'm sure it's available to Samsung.
Although 2.3 is nice(running it at my Nexus One for quite some time now), it's not a big step compared to 2.2, and it's got no advantages for a tablet.
It's very possible that Samsung is working on a HoneyComb release for the Galaxy Tab.

I tend to agree that whilst a new OS version is always nice, this isn't as big a jump as going from say Cupcake to Eclair, or Eclair to Froyo. Sure, there are some nice features in Gingerbread, and some people will want them more than others.
As has been said before many times, if you bought a device based on what it could do *if* it receives an upgraded OS, you didn't purchase wisely. Buy for what it does today (bug fixes excepted of course!).
However, if a company does come out and say that they will be upgrading the OS to a later version, they should be true to their word.

What google did was require a second license for 3.0 but in that license there is language that states any tablet shipped with android 2.x cant be upgraded to android 3.0 which in effect means that no company will beable to offer an upgrade.

The Galaxy Tab does seem to be a dead product, judging by the track record of samsung. That's not stopping me from getting one, as its an awesome device (gonna replace my Win7 Tablet PC and Galaxy S).
The Galaxy S is dead too, and the old Omnia I had was also abandoned early on, even while it was still the flagship (there was no replacement yet).

Yea. They did not implement the source code the right way, they got regarding Virtual Souround. Still waiting for that... (Got a friend working at the company that makes the software)
I Guess an LG error... :-(
See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1129486
I emailed LG customer service from 4 different countries. The two answers I got were:
1) Yes yes we are sorry for the delay and the update is coming this summer
2) No sorry there is no ETA on any update for this phone. Not even summer? No.
Their customer service have no idea on what's going on. It's ridiculous quite frankly.

True but by the time they release GB, LG will have a better fone out and then will bypass any updates for old fones.
I never understand why mobile manufactures can make new fones faster than update there software?!. I suppose its about trying to sell more units?.
I think we wont see it this year and by the time we do get the update, we will have quad core processes and better os updates to Android than GB... Its not just LG, but ALL of them that are more interested in bringing out new hardware than to fully support what they have out already. One word... MONEY.
In away, thats why I like what is happening to gaming consoles. Its no longer about bringing a new one out every 2 years (like it used to be) and more into software and developing different ideas to bring new life into gaming.
Just wish hardware manufactures were pushing as hard for there software . Thats the real problem now.

Apple is also doing a great job here.
My guess is that only a fraction of all android users cares about the OS kernels and other tweaks, as example. I was helping my Gf to get a new phone. She wanted a red one, with facebook on it. While i was dropping some easy specs like: multitouch, gb, memory, cpu etc. After a minute she replied,Thats sound cool, but DOES IT HAVE facebook... i think shes avarage phoneuser
So to be honest, why pay engineers to make software to people that doesnt care, when they can push phones to the market and actually make some profit.
I like LG.
they released this amazing piece of electronics and they opened up much more then many other brands (SonyEricsson, Samsung). So just becuause of that im running Gingerbread with oc/uv. So stop nagging, its a great phone and with cyanogen, arcee and many other developers, this has become a monster. We dont need LGs sw, android comunity makes it better.

So if your girlfriend - with her limited knowledge of technology - where to buy this phone she should just root it and throw a custom firmware on it? Do you think that is very likely and consumer like her would do that?
You DO NOT need LG's firmware but 90% of all consumers do. And there is no way you can justify LG's action by doing their work. The product as a whole is not working and just because you like to change parts of it does not excuse this fact.
Still a week and a half to go before June ends so hopefully there will not be another delay. I think last time they said it has been delayed by 3-4 weeks. I'll be happy with a bug free stock phone that just works regardless of whether it is FroYo or GB.

Yes maybe 90% of all consumers are satisfied with THEIR smartphone. Do we need to point out how low LG's market share is in this segment? Do you really think that 90% of Optimus 2x users are satisfied with their phone??
The Optimus 2x freezes without being able to recover without a battery pull. That means every user expecting to receive calls or uses their phone as an alarm will be not be satisfied.
My brother bought this phone (not with my recommondation) and he - like your girlfriend - just expect it to work without going into technical details. He has missed calls and alarms already. It goes without saying that he is NOT satisfied and neither would your GF have been if she had bought this phone. Try and ask if she would be okay with missed calls and alarms.
Are saying this phone is only for the elite of 10% or less who wants to waste their freetime on installing experimental software?
Trentors is absolutely right here, 90% of the LG O2x users are ordinary users who are not satisfied with the current LG stock rom - but they are ordinary users not interested in having to do LG's work and install custom roms with everything this includes.
They have a legitimite demand on LG to provide what LG sold them - a working phone. Not a phone that reboots randomly, freeze randomly, run out of memory randomly, lags in various different situations for various different reasons (all reasons caused by poor programming from LG) - they have a legitimite demand on LG to provide updates to fix this, they have a legitimate demand that it should have been there from the beginning. They are not demanding gingerbread per say because its gingerbread, they are just demanding a properly working stock rom - it just happens that they may look to a gingerbread update as an expected way to get a working stock rom.
Herkuk, you are pissing on all these ordinary users with your statements here - I and the rest of these 90% O2x users dont care how much you want to tinker with custom roms - thats your choise, not ours - we dont care about OC abilities or all the other aspects you feel so much for in custom roms - we just want LG to provide what we paied for - namely a stock rom working the way its supposed to work. Plain and simple.
I do not accept the trend where manufacturers are allowed to release beta products or developer products as final products and then ditch any support in order to release new beta products which also do not work right - just because a group of geeks are happy just to get some new hardware to tinker with.
When I buy any other product I expect it to work - I expect my new car to drive without the wheels falling off or the brakes not working - I expect my new flatscreen TV to be able show a picture everytime I turn it on, not only every other time, and I dont expect it to randomly shutdown or get black screen whenever Im trying to watch a movie.
I dont care if you like LG or not - I dont care for fanboyisme - I demand the same from LG as I demand from any other manufacturer that want to sell me there products. Its not my job (even If I have the abilities) to do LG's work and fix their product.

i have this phone only for a year, and 2.3 is the last version i'll get.
but maybe we need to blame google because other company also dropping their support after a year.
maybe it is time to consider microsoft and intel combination. if they are doing such a great work on pc, and intel is about to release their cpu for mobiles, that combination will kick android a** i hope. i can't believe that this is the last update i will get, i have 2.3 for months, i dont care about crappy face recognitaion in 2.3.6 i want hardware acceleration.
i am staring to hate android. open source is great, until you are not getting anymore updates maybe the middle between android open source and ios is the answer like microsoft.

fact is, Samsung is a company that is only interesed in your money, just like all other companies out there. They're not a charity organisation. They want you to buy their phones.
the SGS has gotten 2 major firmware updates. eclair to froyo and froyo to gingerbread. There's not alot of phones out there that have gotten the same luck.
Of course it would be nice to receive an ICS updates but frankly i don't care. There's already a good working unofficial ICS rom and official Gingerbread rom does it's job more than pleasant.
I would say it's your loss since samsung always make better phone with better price compare to apple made in china trash. I know the software is not too good buy you have plenty developers here that can help the phone runs better. If you want ics just used one cosmics rom.

Do tell me where I get support for my original iPhone (2g) so I can up date the thing to v4 or even v5 iOS.
At the end of the day the SGS is near 2 years old and seeing as the SGS3 is around the corner I would consider the SGS old!
Anycase there is a ICS ROM for the SGS, just used that and be happy!
onecosmic and cyanogen can not fix the camera and other minor things without the drivers from samsung and i have 2.3 almost 6 months. so no i dont consider one year of updates to be that good. you want your phone, to be updated for a year and then throwit to the garbage?.
one year of updates for a phone who sold millions world wide is not enough and because of people like you it will coninue.

I would say it's your loss since samsung always make better phone with better price compare to apple made in china trash. I know the software is not too good buy you have plenty developers here that can help the phone runs better. If you want ics just used one cosmics rom.

It's funny how people count the Eclair to Froyo update as a point for Samsung when the phone was released after Froyo came out, Samsung was just damn late.
I got no problems with samsung. after i found this site i've loved the phone Must thank all the hard working people who just got the intrest to release all kinds of mods etc. they make the phone worth having
I'm usimg Hacksung band the camera works no with zoom. Not as good as samsung camera but its geting there.

I really don't understand why Samsung says SGS is not capable of running ICS, while it is. I wouldn't go as far as not buying Samsung anymore, but I do think the reason given is BS.

Fyi, they're not saying it cant run ics, they're saying it cant run ICS with TouchWiz.
This is exactly why I sold my Sgs 6 months ago!

To be honest i'd be happy with a good Gingerbread (stock), I don't think it's been as good as the last Froyo 2.2.1 update, which suddenly made the phone work properly.
I think its a shame that there isn't at least a two year life span (a lot of phone contracts are 24 months) in terms of updates, but I also understand this technology is probably one of the fastest moving.

not only they don't release the drivers to help developers like onecosmic and cyanogen, they stop their support on a phone who sold millions of units world wide.
i have this phone only for a year, and 2.3 is the last version i'll get.
but maybe we need to blame google because other company also dropping their support after a year.
maybe it is time to consider microsoft and intel combination. if they are doing such a great work on pc, and intel is about to release their cpu for mobiles, that combination will kick android a** i hope. i can't believe that this is the last update i will get, i have 2.3 for months !!!!!!!! i dont care about crappy face recognitaion.
android is worst than ios, at least apple is still supporting all of their devices.
i am staring to hate android. open source is great, until you are not getting anymore updates maybe the middle between android open source and ios is the answer like microsoft.
microsoft bring us directx games to cell phones and i am leaving crappy android today.

Samsung didn't design ALL components in the SGS, they have bought many from THIRD party (like audio part from Wolfson, etc. etc.). You have open source drivers for SOME devices and many of chip-makers sell Chips + Closed drivers with limited support. It's not the Samsung's fault if they don't want release drivers, Samsung use only BINARY drivers for some devices ! Blame some *****ng chip-maker firms. I used to fight a lot with Adaptec to have some source code to make working some $500 Hardware Raid card for FreeBSD some years ago, many chip-maker are VERY reluctant to give drivers code, and it's not a new story in Linux world.
Windows and Intel will make better ? Are you serious or just blind ? Why Vista was so "unstable" in his debut ? Drivers, Drivers and Drivers.. like Android. iOS ? Another joke ? Apple use ONE hardware and chip-makers are forced to give the code (or they're excluded from Apple, so they give all Apple want), iPhone is a very well sell and Apple is one of the richest firm in the world, chip-makers aren't totally stupid if they want to sell million and million of their chips.
And for your information : First ROM for SGS are build in March 2010, latest is Dec 2011, what a poor support..
I can see Samsung absolutely ****ting themselves reading the op. Dumb thread.

This is, IMHO, the main Android drawback.
Android is not really "open". It's a marketing hype.
Producers like Samsung make heavy "modifications" to their phones and do not relase their drivers.
We're lucky that SGS has an hardware similar to the Nexus S, otherwise I doubt we could have a stable ICS porting for our phone.
My next phone, if I'll chose again Android, will be a Google Experience One.
Bye.
Especially those people who owned the Note since the beginning in Q4 2011.
What do you think of the development of our Exynos-based Note?
How do you feel after one year that CM for our Note even our little brother S2 is not fully working?
Are you satisfied with the stock ROMs provided by Samsung?
How about the superbrick fiasco? Do you think Samsung should have done something more quickly?
What do you think of the Jelly Bean update for Note? Quality is there?
EDIT: One more question. Will you consider a Samsung for your next device?
Development - good not that bad
CyanogenMod - Not working at its full potential but it is still my daily driver
Satisfaction with Samsung firmware ? - Are you kidding ?
How about the superbrick fiasco ? - I considered selling selling my note when Superbrick bug was detected but there were no other 5' phones at that time. Even now, non-removable battery (Xperia Z and others) is a deal-breaker for me.
Jelly bean update - It does not have professional and finishing touch as I quoted your post in other thread.
Am I happy with my Note ?
I am happy because I'm content and I am content because I am happy
For your every question it's a no.. There are not much development even some peps here think uploading the stock deodex rom with xyz name adding some mods which are already present on forum individually is a developmnet..? A big no, but the elite xda-developers who are trying their best bringing cutting edge work and something innovative to android development world is called development and i am very thankful to them.. But still it's not up to par.. I wish i bought a nexus device in place of note regarding android development and modding.. And sammy is just to lazy in providing update to our device and providing source codes, stock jb is just unacceptable for me it's too laggy for anyone who uses cm as a daily driver.. I am afraid to say that cm is also not fully functional, the memory leak sometimes make me go crazy but have to live with this sh*t truth about my beloved note.. After all i love my note than any other device owned by me in past and please don't term me as complainig it's all what any note user has in his heart to say.. And yeah how can i forget about brick bug, when my note firstly got affected by it i was like what the heck is wrong with my baby it is dead and you will not believe still i fear from doing any wipes it doesn't matter if i have modified kernel or not and the black crush issue is like never gonna sorted out

Development - we hamper our own progress, more politics than codes, groupism, lack of feedback, squelching of viable ideas
CM - an alternative to explore but not be ruled/smothered by.
Samsung performance - Good in many ways- stable, battery friendly/new features/ frequent updates. Good inspite of black clipping, highly priced devices and poor build quality.
Brickbug - never existed beyond the walls of xda and/or rooting process.
Jelly bean - better than ics
Had a lot of fun with my Note. if i didnt have it , with my past experience of it, Id go for a Samsung product but would wait for price to go down first.
NB - Can you really hope for an unbiased answer ? where you become popular and part of the herd if you call Sammy Crapsung and start off your OP with a statement like - I hate Touchwiz , and thanks are heaped on you for it ? Hate begets hate.
I never put forth my views for argument so dont even try.
1 No development to full potential without Exymos drivers, still ppl did best they could. Most devs left by now
[email protected] ... ... ...them.
3No, but some custom ROMs are/were good.
4My phone has sane chip - they should recall vulnerable devices or deliver sw fix earlier.
5For me on AllianceLSZ it is as close as possibly, but I did not tried stock version.
Last one. I don't think so. They grow to big market share - lame corporation. They are lying, promising and not delivering. All I liked -big screen now is no longer Samsung's only thing. I am not fond of cheap plastic too. I liked sd card and removable battery.
Time will tell. HTC one Motorolla X LG who knows?
Development you can't talk about it since it is for every device separate and the devices high end life is under 6 months so developers are using the hit and run tactic since after awhile the device isn't popular and if you now add the delay of source to be given from the manufacture tell me what can - could you await from the developers. Who they make this with 0 to low profit gain except few of them, but that's another story.
You can't compare s2 with any device out there. S2 is legen wait for it dary .
Samsungs firmware upgrade policy was ok till ics came out, the updates where faster then you could find all the changes from one. After the second ics firmware the things did go worse, if I remember right it was s3 comming out time. And before the note 2 was introduced there was the end.
Profit rules them all.
If you don't buy that you will buy the other. Tell me a company who is making a good device with great support? None.
Google isn't producing her own devices.
Apple? Come on you can spend your money somewhere else.
As long smartphones aren't as PC's where you can add 10, different self picked, parts to make a phone and after that you pick a OS to install on it with the drivers for the parts. Till then you will pay to be happy when you will get a fully operating device with SOME of the things you need.
Own a DBT N7000
Flashed first time on JB leak since till then, the device and OS was enought/had nothing to offer more, to my needs.
Cm never used it. But N7000 without spen? Huge respect to the guys and girls for supporting so many devices ofc.
Let the "flames" begin.

1 [Development]. Well, there are some sweet ROMs and mods, but my mate that recommended looking for stuff here some time ago said there's everything here, and TBH I don't see it, was looking for ported S Memo for JB, ink effect for S Pen only and other small mods and didn't find anything
2 [CM]. Never cared about it, I picked Note for features built around TW
3 [Stocks]. Until JB, it was pretty good, new features, not too much crap, stable and efficient
4 [Brick]. Terrible mistake and marketing failure, didn't affect me fortunately
5 [JB]. Nope, it's a total disappointment, I was eager to update it ASAP, but after I did it I was like "WHAT THE HELL MAN?". Sad, sad update
6 [Sammy]. I never considered any Samsung's phone other than SII or Note, so no
I am still very happy with my Note...with some work to be done, JB is very fast and stable and bugfree...i tried all CM and his derivates and they are great, but i still like modded stock most, mainly for all the features coming with it or possible to add - and it lags 0 (in words ZERO) for me...brickbug was an awful mistake, bricked 2 devices for me (one i got repaired on warranty)...i dont care about blackclipping cause it never affected me that much...
And cause this seems to be the 'bash sammy and note 1 thread' i am looking forward to some public flogging
I am also happy with my note.
I feel there is a strong but disappointed community regarding development. Most developers have strained that Samsung closedness in regards of hardware level drivers have halted back development months if not a year.
I personally feel the folowing is true: because of difficulty in basic os openeness guys like CM team have found time wanting in further development then basic os. I saw endevours in spen functionality and firmly believe if Samsung was more open, not only would rom development taken off more but also the app development. Just gettting rom functional has sucked the living daylights out of a lot of good devs. Had that not been the case they would have been motivated and have time left to revolutionizing further spen/apps stuff. This is a cascading effect.
I in that sense having seen burnouts and close burnouts with certain devs, am definitely not dissapointed in the devs. Greatfull for their devotion and spirit. In Samsung, yes definately dissapointed. I love what Samsung did with JB. But this whole ordeal is not a good example of transforming an opensource platform into a true community platform. That Samsung can do better. Must do better, because the XDA community is already speaking of moving from Samsung to more dev friendly mobiles. Samsung needs to turn that around.
Their future lineup is promising, but with this trackrecord, its not gonna appeal the devs into storming buyin.
More and more users are following favorite devs, if those devs move away, so will xda members following those devs. Time to step up the game Samsung, we know you want to.
Note is a great device(except battery) for me.Yeah,I miss more ported roms from other phones too,but today we have so many different chips and without sources for drivers I know it's hard...

Read somewhere that Samsung denied CM Officials' request to release TW Source. IMHO, I don't know if its true or actually a matter of concern but it is quite noticeable that other manufacturers' devices have amazing CMs whereas TW based phones are suffering.

Dear Samsung, Nobody wants your ****ing motion sensor voodoo you call "Smart-this-Smart-that" and annoying visual/audio effects you call "Nature-Nature". Your idea of using a Digitizer with a phone? Excellent. Making a phone that is a Milestone for Smartphones? Fantastic. Providing Dedicated apps? Orgasmic. ****ty optimization? You lost me.

Probably. When it comes to RAW Power, Samsung doesn't shy away. That's the beauty of it.
Note has many achievements.
1. It tasted 3 flavors of android.
2. Its the first >5 inch phone which changed the way of users habit.
3. It has seen the mist development more than galaxy nexus. It got all tge major custom releases with tw stock roms as a bonus.
4. Its the only phone which even after 1 and a half year life has a place in users heart.
5. It was a future proof device of its time and the way dev helped it groom is remarkable.
6. Thanks to devs who despite being annoying contributes so much to make our experience good.
