i've just installed the gps-enabled dopod rom and whenever i try to switch the built in key board to an arabic enabled keyboard that comes with the arabizer program (sold separetly from 2 companies, imaginet & informobility) , it refuses to change.
i even istalled resco keyboard pro but with the same problem.
does anybody know how to solve this problem?
is there a hack or a change in the registry that enables me to use any arabic enabled keyboard?

I can't get RapidCalc keyboard to load either. Other people have complained about keyboard software not loading also. Hopefully a Rom upgrade will fix the issue.

Have you tried to set the non-loading keyboard as default input method using SKTools or SIPChange?
It did the trick with HTC PhonePad which also refused to load.

I Tried the SKTools, and my Trinity started to freeze right after softreset, so I had to do a Hard-reset
Tried the SIPChange, and viollaaaaaaaaaah my arabic keyboard is working now.... I didn't even change the defaults, I just installed the SIPChange and everything is normal

sipchange didnt work with me
RESCO Keyboard PRO worked for me.
You need to set ARABIC as the Primary Language, softrest.
I also tried another method and it worked as well. I extracted all the files from the extended rom beofore upgrading the ROM and then reinstalled them after the upgrade. The extended ROM files I extracted already included the IMAGINET Arabization.
Try these methods and let us know the results.

Put my unit did not have imaginet arabizer on it.
Can you upload this files?

thank you for your reply. we'll be gratefull if you can upload the imaginet files that are extracted from the arabic rom.
I am using vgakey now and it is working. but sometmes it refuses to appear.

Works perfect and the keyboard issue is solved (until now). Was there any other imaginet files (Like the Dictionary and prayer times). If yes please complete your kind effort and post them.

I think the 2 cab files PP_AKv30-DefaultPage_ALL.CAB and PP_AKv33-DefaultPage_ARA-0401.CAB are the ones that are making the difference.
With regards to the other maginet applications, they came on a seperate CD. I will try to upload them later if the size permitts.

I belive you need only the 3 arabizer files to solve the problem which are,
CAB: \Extended_ROM\INCert_B377_2.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\ACERTTahoma_HTC_B377_2.CAB
CAB: \Extended_ROM\MultiLang_AR_HTC_B377_2.CAB
These files are working on my device having no problem so far.

Finally HTC released Arabic Support for HTC touch diamond. Arabic extended update available only for ROM version 1.93.456.2 so If you have older ROM you should update your ROM first.

I already have this ROM version so I installed the Arabic update according to HTC instructions but after I did I got nothing at all even after soft resets. But I got it working after a hard reset.

I download it and install it On my mobile .
Before it my mobile work properly.
But after that GPS not work . another problem is When i call anyone , If call is connected , So I can't hear anything from Mobile's speaker . But if I call and number is busy , So I hear beep

I installed the latest rom 1.93.456.2 to my diamond but every time I try to install the extended arabic package I get a message on my laptop saying "confirmation..the files have been changed"

The only way I could get over this error was by using another computer, the one that wasn't working was a vista and the one other was an XP. Everything went fine then. But yet I can't say for sure that the problem was with vista, maybe it was just something specific in my laptop.
New arabic software and ROM upgrade for diamond
can anyone uplolad those programs on rapid share? because I cannot download them from the official site. My S/N does not work bec I bought my diamond from US. Please this is important.

Here is my experience with it.
After many other bad experiences I tried this arabizer and it works fine with me, you will need after installing it to make another hard reset to work fine (that's what I did, it may work with you without having to do this).
Hard reset at anytime will install the Arabic language pack automatically and you don't have to do it again, the arabizer actually installs "Fee Jeibi Ein" arabizer.
It is working in a perfect way but the only and most annoying problem is that some applications will show strange English fonts, I made a post about it and still waiting for replies to this problem.

When i try the official arabic support package on an upgraded ROM, it makes the following (automatically):
I run the upgrade fine wth active sync,
the HTC TP says i will have to restart (OK)
It makes the following pre-starting
validating...then
Verifying...
Then!!! An error occured and will give details after the device starts...and it starts...thank
it says summary of error problem is there is not enough space,
i run taskmanager and i made sure that i have enough enough space on both internal and external memories.
any ideas,

whats the use the arabic keyboard is the tiny version and not the big one. its a pain to type on with fingers and i hate using the stylus

Would someone be able to tell me whether if I install the above update, would i be able to see arabic content on HTC diamond? because right now if I browse the internet through Opera i am not capable of seeing arabic text...all I can see squares

when you goto download the latest ROM update from HTC there will be a drop box asking which you want to get (arabic or english)
the arabic is exactly the same but has the following:
it displays the date/time in arabic (western format)
it has arabic fonts
+ the arabic (tiny) keyboard.
other than that everything else is english... its not full localization.

I would like to know how can I return to the Windows Mobile Old keyboard ... the one that has handwriting posibility .... I try several roms ... and I like them but I don't like the HTC new keyword ... I really prefer the old version because I think is fast for me writing than tiping ...
Actually I'm using Itje's Touch-IT v16 with winmo 6.1

Look for Calligrapher from phatware. It's the advanced version from the built in one.

Thanks I looking for it rigth now .... anyway Is possible disable the input way that the manila's rom has? maybe by regedit and return to the windows mobile original?
I just donwloaded the .cab file, but I think is not what I'm looking for ... I'm want to disable the HTC input method and use the old that came with windows mobile the one that has block recognizer, keyboard, letter recognizer and simbol pad. Please if some one knows how can I do that it will be very helpfull for me.

if you run a custom rom is it possible to change the software keyborad to nordic layout?? I have the smeberg cab for the hadeware keybord. But missing the nordic keybord in the soft keybord. So please help me out.

Give this one a try. Install the keyboard first, then dictionary... soft reset.

I never find how to change layout for Microsoft software keyboard but if your rom use EZinput software keyboard, you can change the layout with that:
Go to HKLM\Software\Tegic\et9
Change the value of DefaultLanguage
0109 -> qwerty
010C -> azerty
0107 -> qwertz
There is also 0110 and 010A avalaible but I don't know for which layout it is so you may have to try yourself

I do not know if nordic is supported and maybe there are other value than this ones but it is all that I know now...

Hello again Taurusbulba... The cab don't work either .... I'm using the Ijte's TOUCH IT LEO 9 .... I did the follow: (1) Download the cab (2) copy to sd (3) install from SD (4) soft reset ... (5) Open word, excel and contacts and I have the same HTC Keyboard .... (6) try to setup the keyword from Start/Settings/Personal/Input ... and only have Touch Input....
Plese help me ...

Well that's not good. I'll keep my eye out for another OEM Microsoft keyboard, but I'm running out of resources. No guarantees I can find one that'll work for your device though.

I've instaled the new htc stock rom it looks good by i have 2 problems:
- my secreen needs calibration and i don't no where to go to do it, i've tryed all menu from start and setting and i cant find the option.
- where can I change the owner name i have some app that need it.
I remenber that in previous version he had to enebled it via registry (but I've forgoten the key)

Hi guys.I flash my x1 yesterdy with christian rom is windows 6.5 and ver 6.100
Everything its ok exept this.When i press the phone button i see my contacts and the keyboard with the numbers so i can make a call.But when i hide the keyboard and try to scroll down my contacts i get this screen as in the attachment.anyone have a sotution for this? Tnx in advance guys.
Try another sim-card or copy everthing to phone to determine if it is software to rom problem or hardware (sim). Personally I would try another rom, I flashed mine about 8 times and had variuos glicthes from rom to another. Now I sticked to 826x as it satisfies my needs to the most. Hope it helps bro.

Simply I changed to another ROM
