I'm not sure what has happened..
Previously I was using JM9 with Voodoo Lagfix.
Then I flashed to JP6 with KIES, then rooted with CF Root, then installed OCLF, removed OCLF and installed Voodoo (pre3)
I'm not sure when, but when I recieve SMS, I get the Handcent popup like 5 seconds before the actual ringtone + vibration plays.
How come?
It's not like this for you guys is it?
Same problem. I am with Leedroid 2.5 ROM.

Hi peeps, sorry if this is a repeat or nooob thread.
Here's how it went:
I flashed JM8, then to JP6 Froyo, then I rooted using CFroot, then I apply Voodoo 5.
All is well until I apply Voodoo. The market was lost and my quadrant is about 1540 but still kinda laggy.
So, I reflashed everything once again.
I "disable_lagfix" on Voodoo and went through JM8, JP6, CFroot again.
After completion, I deleted the disable_lagfix file.
I played with the phone the whole day and thought I had Voodoo enabled. But my quadrant is only 977 now.
So, do I have to Odin flash Voodoo again? I want Voodoo but I don't want it if it clears up my settings and apps. Yeah I can restore them but it takes super long time and I don't want that.
Suggestions please.
Thanks to mods for moving it here.
I need to find out if I can install OCLF 2.2 over Voodoo 5 pre6. If yes, do i need to disable voodoo first?
Am I also doing it in the correct manner? I already have Voodoo 5 flashed to my phone.
Lastly, if this is indeed possible, what are your feedbacks? Did SGS improved? Did it lag again after several days?
didn't work for me. got a black screen once it loaded up. probably did something wrong but you could try it and report back here.
Hi
Galaxy S, Froyo, Voodoo kernel:
I'm thinking about disabling Voodoo to try OCLF and see if it is faster. Therefor I wonder a few things.
Does OCLF work with the Voodoo kernel installed?
I understand I just create the file/folder voodoo/disable_lagfix to disable the Voodoo lagfix, but how do I get it back if I don't like the OCLF? Just remove the file/folder and reboot, or is it more complicated then that?
And lastly: Any thoughts on which is better? OCLF or Voodoo? My Galaxy S isn't superfast with the Voodoo, thats for sure.
Thanks
Decided to try.
Downloaded the remove voodoo-app, and disabled it with success. Back to RFS.
But when I try to install OCLF I get the message: "You already appear to have another lag fix installed! (/system/bin/playlogos1 les than 5KB)"
I therefor tried the "Restore boot animation"-function, and it says success. But still I get the same message when trying to install OCLF.
Help!
Can't someone please help me!
Just put voodoo back on in my opinion.
But if you MUST try it you might have to put a stock kernel on. Isn't there some oclf option that refers to that playlogos file or whatever it is?

I was trying to disable Voodoo to try OCLF(not happy with speed with Voodoo)
So I downloaded the remove voodoo-app, and disabled it with success. Back to RFS. I'm using Froyo JPA Samsung official.
But when I try to install OCLF I get the message: "You already appear to have another lag fix installed! (/system/bin/playlogos1 les than 5KB)"
I therefor tried the "Restore boot animation"-function, and it says success. But still I get the same message when trying to install OCLF.
I have also tried to manually delete the playlogos1-file, but it seems to be coming back immediately.
Help!
Another case of not reading BEFORE applying stuff to the phone?
Usually to disable Voodoo you create a folder named "disable_lagfix" in your voodoo folder.
Then reboot to get back to RFS.
Talk about not reading??
I have already disabled Voodoo.... The problem is installing OCLF again..
Obviously something is still recognizing it as ENABLED.
That would have been worth a try.
Otherwise do a full reflash.
Mate, if you read the remove voodoo thread, it isn't the most stable app..... i'd contact that threads originator for advice.
Fwiw, I've used them both, now using voodoo with darkys 4.1 rom.

The only way to truly get rid of Voodoo is to reflash to a stock Rom. Even with it disabled it may have some effect on your phone and it definitely doesn't play well with OCLF. I would suggest flashing using Odin and then reinstalling OCLF---that's what I did.

Hey guys,
i installed the voodoo lagfix kernel on a mates galaxy s who is not the best at android stuff and it worked fine with the ext4 lagfix for a couple weeks and now the speaker for calls has stopped working, i got him to uninstall the lagfix via the voodoo FAQ and he has done this and subsequently the speaker has begun to work again.
He was on OCLF ext2 lagfix before i put the voodoo kernel on since it was simple.
My question is since he has converted it back to RFS can he put the OCLF ext2 fix on now with the voodoo kernel still on there as long as he keeps the disable lagfix folder on to stop the voodoo kernel from applying the ext4 fix?
thanks in advance =]

No idea what version of the kernel, lagfix or rom you are running.
Dont use OCLF , use the voodoo kernel for that? Why would you even use the OCLF if you have a voodoo lagfix kernel? Am not so much familiar with Voodoo kernels, but makes no sense to me.
Dont use OCLF and no ext2 . Use voodoo with ext4 for that. Make backup before. If you mess something up its on you .
(Universal advice these days, go for gingerbread? No "lagfix" needed, and custom kernels with voodoo are comming along just fine)
it is using 2.2 froyo and 5.5 voodoo kernel.
the whole reason i'm asking this as when he uses the ext4 lag fix of the voodoo kernel his speaker stops working thus kind of rendering his phone useless at making calls.
he's not incredibly tech minded at this so can't flash the roms for himself or anything like that i'm just wondering if it is actually possible to use the OCLF with this kernel as long as the kernels lag fix is not in use
EDIT: problem fixed.
