Radio Rom Links In This Forum ????

I remember seeing links for different version of radio Rom that someone posted after building the cooked rom. For the life of me I searched all over and can not seem to be able to find it. If anyone would be kind enough to link me.....Thanks

I too downloaded the latest ROM (I believe from the Hermes site). Could you tell me the specific steps on how you went about upgrading just the Radio part. What utility did you use and did your phone need to have Olipro Hard-SPL prior to upgrading the Radio ROM

To be on the safe side this is what i did
I did use the Olipro unlocker which were on this sticky thread, I did not use his later version

Then I use this program to just to make sure the SIM and IPL/SPL were unlocked completely

After that everything was good to go. Just hook your phone up to active syn and run. When it ask what IPL/SPL you have just pick 1.04 and let the process run on its own.

The links you send me was for Olipros Hard SPL and then something to check if the phone is unlocked
I have an unlocked phone already with an unbranded ROM. My question is to upgrade "Just" the Radio ROM what did you use. Was is it a Kaiser utility or was is it CustomRUU.
Please give me specific steps "Post" your unlock process and ROM upgrade to perhaps a branded or unbranded ROM.
Also to others reading this thread if you have an unlocked and unbranded ROM in your current TREO how to just upgrade the Radio ROM
To be specific I have V2.27 RWE ROM which put in 1.54.01.00 Radio and need to upgrade to either the AT&T 1.54.07.00 Radio or 1.54.30.10 Hermes Radio. Any links on the various Radio differences. This should be a sticky

i used the kaiser one. No radio is "the answer" it is all based on your carrier and where you at. Radio Rom is all about personal trial and error.

well don't install 1.54.30.10.
once you do, theres no going back.
personally i find 1.54.07 and 1.54.01 to do the best job.

Please Help in upgrading a new ROM step by step

Help needed badly
my ROM v is 1.14.404.3 (22273) WWE and i want to upgrade to miri 6.5_21198_v5.2 but have no idea how to start i have zero knowledge about this, thats why i started this threat so that people like me can get some help.
could someone please help me with what i need and how to do the rom upgrade help....

You must flash HardSPL first to be able to flash this ROM!

For all information on flashing, HardSPL, USPL as well as roms available why not check out the wiki? Thats what its for!!
There is also countless threads here regarding flashing, backing up, HardSPL etc etc etc

I'm really new to the rom upgrade, and my cellular is also new. It would be great if you can help me with some things.
My htc touch hd was made in taiwan.
My device is suppose to be new,according to the store here.
My Rom version is 1.18.707.3 (23358) WWE
SPL (still doesn't know what does it mean) is 1.14.0000
My goal is to upgrade the rom to 1.56 without destroying my device and lose all the money is spent on him
I cant upgrade via htc.com site, because my SN is taiwan.
In htc taiwan site theres no 1.56.
I have read some things regarding rom upgrade; and i have realized that i got 3 options to choose (or not):
USPL
HSPL
Enter a working SN (i got) into htc.com site and download 1.56 rom; i guess t will work, not? and if yes - why people would USPL/HSPL?
Can you please tell me whats the different between them?
Tell me if i need netframework also.
I'm really lost,help would be appreciate.

If yours is the original rom, you can just run the Ruu that you have dowloaded and follow the instructions.

not want to Offend you,please Develop a good habit,before post thread,search the forum for impossbile answers with keyword,read the Tutorial in the forum
First :go toTri-color screen to Ensure your touch hd is unlocked,if not you must unlock first
Second:if you want to use wm6.5,you must make your spl update to 1.56
Third:download the rom ,then use tools to flash the phone

Asking people to give you an opinion on the best ROMs is against forum rules. Not to be a stickler, but as it is peoples opinions, there are likely to be many different views as to which ROM is best. The best thing is to read this thread to be sure you have set up your phone correctly. You have 2 choices, either going the USPL or the HSPL route. You will see the pros and cons of each route in the thread.
I would also suggest reading the ROM threads in this forum where you will get a sense of how well the ROM is working ie any major bugs (or not) and then try a few of them yourself and see which one suits your needs best.

i still do not understand why opinionated posts are forbidden but anyway. until this thread gets closed, here is my opinion:
check out miri's rom because it has been very stable for a long time and a day after a new build is available you will get an updated rom.
just make sure that you also flash the latest radio rom.
prior to flashing make sure that you install hspl on your device.
for everything you need (hspl, radio, wm6.5 rom) there is a link in my signature.

ust for general knowledge, is there a way back from HSPL?
i have read the rom article ([tried to copy website, but was not allowed...anyway its tut dummies guide <-- great article.)
just to be certain 100%, uspl and hspl has same effect, just that uspl i have to re-do it every time i want to flash cocked rom and HSPL is one time?
and how to now or see what rom is for htc hd eg.if i have hspl 1.56 whit this i can put any rom and can i put rom from hd2 on hd

Even with HSPL or USPL you can not flash a ROM which is made for a different device! It does not matter whether it is factory made or cooked. Even if you can flash it, that can damage your phone!
The ROMs on this thread are only for HD. They are "cooked", therefore those ROMs have a lot of components actually taken from HD2 and they look and behave exactly like HD2, but the cooks have composed and tweaked them to work on HD. Maybe slightly slower then on HD2, but they are flashable and they work good on a HD phone.
That is the purpose of cooking. It takes a lot of work to extract the important ROM components from HD2 or Topaz, make them work on HD and then compose a new ROM that looks and feels like HD2 and which still can be flashed on HD.
A ROM made for HD2, original or taken from HD2 subforum will not work on HD or any other phone.
You can chose original or cooked, but always take only ROM which is made (factory made or cooked) specially for your model.
Each HTC model has its own subforum here on xda and the ROMs on that subforum are cooked for it. There is also xda Wiki for each model.
You are right about HSPL and USPL.
SPL on your phone does not allow you to flash any ROM made for another region (even if it is factory original ) or cooked ROM.
With USPL you can fool it to let you do so, but SPL remains the same, original as it was, you need to fool it again each time you want to flash.
With HSPL, you replace SPL with a slightly tweaked version which will always allow you to flash whatever you want.
There is way back from HSPL to the original SPL if you wish so, the instructions are in the sticky topics.

I have HTC HD with
SPL-1.56.OliNex
(when i press volume down key and press start button a three color screen appears and that is shown: SPL-1.56.OliNex )
I used HSPL.
I have installed this OliNex SPL long ago and flashed more than twenty ROMs until I settled for Topix 3.0.2 .
Just read "Dummys guide to flashing" carefully.
The ROM I use is old, there are newer ones on Topix 3.5.2 thread. You should read the changelog and users reports on that topic as well before you flash.
There are also many other good ROMs on this thread.

I think that the best idea is install new/cooked ROM from microSD card. You have to change name's ROM to BLACIMG.nbh, copy to Storage Card, switch off HD, press and keep Volume Down bottom and press for a while Power bottom. Rest you should do according to on LCD instructions. Internal downloader checkes is the ROM is correct.
