I'm running the JPM/JP6 ROM flashed through Kies using registry hack, will need to revert it back to stock T-mobile ROM. Is it possible to do it using Kies and reg hack (if so, what product code should I use)? I've already tried many product codes and none of them seems to be working, also I can't go into test mode using CTRL+ALT+U+P. Is there any way to do this, if not, will I have to use odin? Does the registry hack thing void the warranty? Thanks.

You have no backup of original firmware then only solution is .
With Odin flash to an older version and then try Kies update .
That fails try registry hack for Kies ,

Hi all,
I've got an unbranded Galaxy S i9000 handset which has the stock Froyo VNZ (Vodafone New Zealand) firmware on it, would using the Kies registry spoof to XEU work fine for this to get Gingerbread?
Also, if I run a factory restore on it after upgrading the firmware will it revert back to Froyo or stay on Gingerbread?
Cheers
Not sure if the registry hack will work.
I use odin to flash gingerbread, have a read of the guide:
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/how-to-install-xxjvo-android-2-3-3-gingerbread-rom-on-your-galaxy-s/
After you have installed gingerbread, doing a factory reset will not revert back to froyo.

Ah OK, so does that mean any of the Gingerbread firmwares will work? (e.g. other region's firmwares from Kies in addition to the ones like you linked to) I've read about people spoofing their region code and using the Kies supplied firmwares but am not really sure if any faked region will work on my phone's region.
What's the best way to go back to the stock firmware if something goes wrong?
Thanks for your help!
A good guide to read, to get a idea on how to install/flash using Odin. Its really important that you can get into Download Mode and recovery mode, download mode is needed to use Odin.

You could wait for Gingerbread to be released by VFNZ via Kies, no idea when that might be.
If you have a Galaxy S i9000 you can flash the JVK, JVB or JVO firmwares. The differences are mainly the included apps (daily info yes/no, some country-specific app, and swype languages), and the carrier configurations on the CSC.
You can always create the APN manually if you know the values for your carrier. I'm using JVO with XEU code right now, APN created manually.
Thanks for the replies guys, ended up downloading the JVO (XEU) firmware using Fus Downloader and flashed using Odin, works perfectly!
Be aware that JVO suffers from serious battery drain issue though..
So i've done a little flashing in my time but I don't want to screw this up. KieS doesn't seem to recognize my phone with the leaked Gingerbread rom, so I figured on either flashing back to stock 2.2 then using KieS, or just flashing straight out of Heimdall or Odin. If I just go with the Odin/Heimdall flash, will I need new bootloaders or will the leaked ones work with a comparable ginger ROM (my instincts tell me this will not be an issue)? What about the leaked modem vs. the Rogers modem? Any thoughts on the best way to approach this?

Just use Odin/heimdall. No need for new boots.
I have the captivate from rogers (canadian SGH-I896)
It is running KH2 (RWC) firm ware according to Kies.
I rooted the phone and was uninstalling some bloatware via titanium backup
when I musta removed something unholy.
As when I tried to close titanium backup I had no home screen at all. Upon reboot I still have no home screen. I still ahve the notification menu pull down.
When I receive a txt I can type and reply to it but I can do nothing that involves the homescreen it is completely blank.
I tried to factory reset the phone but it did not fix the issue. I tried searching and could not find anyone who had the same problem.
Any advice?
EDIT - I followed this link (Samsung Galaxy S APK List)with respect to uninstalling the bloatware:
But, as it was not rogers specific I removed all the rogers stuff (Account, ring back, etc) I also did remove Y! Finance clock which I have now read was also a bad idea.
There might be an easier way but I would try flashing a new rom. Or flashing back to stock using Odin or heimdall. Do you have a custom recovery?

I was using the stock ROM from kies. And I had no flash back up or anything to fix my phone (which in the future I will make sure I do!)
When I try to reflash my ROM using kies it says I already have the newest one. so I reckon I will have to download the stock rom from somewhere else and flash it my self?
Should I go back words to Eclair and then reflash using keis to gingerbread?
I wouldn't worry with kies. There is a heimdall one click that will take you back to stock froyo or gingerbread ( your choice) and will already be rooted and I'm pretty sure it removes bloat ware. Just download it to your computer. Put your phone into download mode hook it up and run the program.

Thank you very much, I shall try it and hope for the best!
In the future ill make sure I make a full back up of my system before I do something stupid..

Go there and there is a link to heimdall one click that will put you back to 2.2 rooted

Hello,
my friend has a Galaxy Note that still has warranty, but the USB port is broken. He has some custom rom installed and we need to put the stock rom back on, so he can send it in and let them repair it.
Is it possible to get back to stock (complete with recovery etc) without using the USB port?
yes use mobile odin to flash the stock official gb or ics.. and yeah this is a hardware issue not a software so i don't think the sammy cc need to do anything with what rom you have

We already contacted them, and they said that we need to flash the stock rom first.
Thanks for the tip.
I have the stock Rom in a single file format. How do I use this with Mobile Odin?
edit: I found it, sorry.
