[Q] Need help with Downgrading FRG22D to FRGO1B on a Mac - Motorola Droid and Milestone General

Im trying to 1 click root my friends Motorola Droid but he has the FRG22d build that is not supported yet with 1 click root, I have been looking for downgrade instructions to go to FRGO1B but he has a Mac and all the downgrade instructions I have seen are only for PC's and Linux. So is there a different method he can downgrade or root on his mac?

I found it easier to just unlock the bootloader and rooting instead of downgrading and oneclick rooting.

[Q] Newbie to rooting Incredible S in linux

Hi all. My Incredible S is bought and use in Saudi Arabia. Few weeks ago i did OTA upgrade with the below result:
Android version 2.3.5
Htc sense version 3
Software number 3.09.145.2
I am thinking to try out rooting this phone. Would like to do this in Linux as I dont have a windows computer. My laptop runs ubuntu and mint LXDE, they are not the latest releases but i think it does not matter. I'm looking for a complete guide how to root in linux. I found a thread below but the phones are not IS. I am not sure if they are applicable.

First since you now have HBOOT 2.00.0000 your only option currently is to begin by unlocking the bootloader using the procedure at HTCDEV.com.
Next you would flash a custom recovery so that you can install the latest SU-3.0.x.zip.
I suggest you do some more research and reading about these 3 steps before attempting it.

Since you are new, I would suggest you read and study the sticky threads in the General section and the Development section.

Goldcard will only let you use an RUU from a different carrier. To downgrade you need to change the main version which can only be achieved with root access.

[Q] verizon moto x 4.4 root

Hi all, i'm trying to follow the instructions in the original moto x development thread to root the device now that it has taken the 4.4 update. I'm unclear on the steps, if someone could please help. it says at the beginning of the thread
First you must use MotoWPNoMo, if you haven't then you will need to. Use RockMyMoto to gain root, then use MotoWPNoMo, and then restore to the 4.2.2 Camera update.
is this all done before step 1 in the directions? if so, i tried to run MotoWPNoMo but it failed at the end.
Is it possible to just use rsd lite and write the earlier software to phone, and then start with step 1?
Any input on clearing up the steps would be appreciated. I've been reading since last night and still not clear on what needs to be done first. I just don't want to mess up the procedure. Thanks
anyone?
Yep, I believe you use RSD to downgrade to 4.2.2. Read this tutorial, it is pretty easy to follow: http://w3.reddit.com/r/MotoX/comments/1t5ei6/guide_root_verizon_nondeveloper_moto_x_44/

[Q] help rooting L90 D41510e

Hi guys, need some help rooting as I've tried 4 processes so far without success..
Here's the device specs
Android: 4.4.2
Kernel: 3.4.0+
Build: KOT491.D41510e
I tried towel root (apparently only works with build c), wondershare mobilego, 2 XDA guides:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951
I got as far as rebooting into download mode and while the device said "ROOTED" in red text, there was no activity in the command line script as it was "Waiting for device.." and the progress bar on the phone was stuck at 0%.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-lg-g3/development/root-twrp-root-twrp-tmo-lg-g3-t2821005
I connected the device and the first time it did recognize it, but after hitting enter to proceed , it says Error your phone is not running a compatible software version. no vulnerable mode detected.
Any other ideas?
This should help you out
Those root methods will not work on version D41510e. You have 2 options to root the device.
1: You can downgrade to firmware D41510c via LG Flash Tool, and root with towelroot. Thanks to gdjindal's guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-flash-stock-kdz-offline-lg-l90-t2803479
2:You can root without having to downgrade, using the following method by G33kSQUAD

the guide I tried previously http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g...lipop-t3056951 appears to be the author of the script G33kSQUAD uses, but it appears successful this time.
I'm thinking I may have forgotten to run the supersu app.

How to root (D5803) on Android 5.1.1 (23.4.A.1.200) without unlocking the bootloader?

Hey guys, the title sais it all!
I have some expirience with flashing roms and custom recoveries and rooting, but on Samsung phones its SO much easier then on Sony. I read through some stuff with flashboot and ADB and what not and I don't really get it. All the ''step by step'' guides are not step by step, their using terms that a normal person wouldn't understand. So I was just wondering if anyone here knew the easiest way to root my Z3 compact running on the latest firmware, without unlocking the bootloader?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/how-to-root-backup-drm-keys-t3013343
Downgrade the firmware, as the root exploit only works with older firmware such as 23.0.A.2.93.

Long story short, you can't root using the latest firmware. Follow the guide to root.
