so i have looked around on here quite a bit and havent really found any kind of answer as to what file controls this or how to change it.
so i usually use the CM6 version of ADW i like that by default it doesnt have the Galaxy S drawers, and the drawer is also semi transparent, well in order to get this theme i was messing with to work and still be useable i had to use the standalone version of ADW, but it has none of those things by default i know i can change them myself but i would much rather edit something now than have to do it every time i reinstall it.
edit: so i exported it through the app and got the ADW_settings.xml how do i add it into the .apk so its the default settings
Did you ever figure this out by any chance? Hate to bump a dead thread but i have the same question about using my current adw settings as default so if my mom has to wipe her phone there will be very minimal setup etc

Sorry if this has been asked before. I searched and couldn't find anything.
I bought the Nook Color today and it seems great, but I would love to get rid of the typical android phone dock that auto-installed with launcherpro when I downloaded it from the marketplace. The one with phone, SMS, email.
I haven't gotten side-loading apps to work yet on my Mac, but i'm going to work on it tonight.
The settings for that Dock will be specific to LauncherPro.
I personally use ADW.Launcher, which has an option to totally disable the Dock, or to make it be a single button to open the Apps Drawer.
Thank you. I'll try using it. I basically just want the cleanest dock ever with a few things on it, and then a side page with my apps
Try Zeam. It works the best.. You can configure the dock entirely.
Launcher pro has an advantage in that you can set the grid to 10x10 where in ADW or Zeam the max is 8X8. 10x10 works way better on the nook.
Actually, I fnd that 8x8 works best for launcher pro. 10x10 makes the widgets too small and overflow their their layouts if they were coded in dips rather than px, which most were...

Can anyone tell me how to add apps to the little bar on the bottom of Launcher Pro? Right now I have the default phone, chat, apps, browser, music but I've seen pictures of people who actually have real apps pinned down there. I tried click/holding on the icon and it give me the option to...
"Change Shortcut"
"Change Icon"
"Swipe Gesture Action"
When I click Change Shortcut, my screen goes black for a second and then comes right back to the main desktop and thats it. Am I missing something? I'd like to remove all the generic, ghosted, white icons and pin the real ones down there instead.
Thanks
This question gets asked a lot and I mean a LOT. Use the search function next time.
But to answere, the NookColor version of Android doesn't have a shortcut picker so doing this with any launcher will crash it. There is currently no fix but there is a work around.
If you have launcher pro on your phone you can set it up how you want it for the Nook and then make a backup. Copy the backup to the Nook and restore it there. You will need an SD card for this.
The work around to getting apps on the dock bar for Launcher Pro is too much work for me, haha. I tried Zeam and ADW.Launcher and discovered both will allow you to just drag/drop to the dock bar instead.
Ya I should have searched better, my bad. Just found the answer 10 times over after a bit more reading. I ended up just using ADW instead since this is my only android device so no backup to take from a phone.
First time ever installing a custom ROM pheww...I honestly didn't like the UI that much especially the dock panel as there is only 3 things i can put and can't customize/ arrange the order of homescreens. Is there a way to change that? Also, I realized that even backing up my apps+ with data using Titanium Backup, there is no Quick Office. Is there a way to restore/recover it? I used it alot before to cheat on my exams and edit docs on the go. Any help is appreciated thanks.
I believe the two main dock replacement apps are LauncherPro (free) and ADWLauncher. Both are highly customizable.
I'm a huge fan of ADW because it's open source. The paid version, ADW EX, is even more awesome. It's even more customizable than the free version and has some nice transition effects when going between home screens.
Yeah I used ADW prior and I loves it, looks like I am going to use it again. Now I realized that when I use Dolphin Browser HD, sites that have Flashplayer, they don't load automatically; instead, I have to click on the download arrow for it to load, is there a way to set it so it automatically loads up flash?
I am using ADW EX and like it.
Quick office can be extract from a stock rom \system\app folder.

Serendipity uses the Launcher2 which is stock. There are other ROM's which use this Launcher which include Stock Gingerbread. Find a launcher from the Market; two have already been named but there are others. As mentioned, extract the quickoffice apk from a stock source. You can read how to do this in the forum since how to do so is covered.
I use Go Launcher. It's like the TouchWiz launcher, but not a giant pile of crap.

The dock ribbon on the bottom on GoLauncher is fabulous. 5 buttons, scrolls around to two other docks for a total of 15, and each can hold a second, gesture response. So Settings is the main press, but Battery Settings is the swipe up on the icon. Main email is press, Gmail is swipe up on the email icon.
It frees up an amazing amount of space in the copious home screens for widgets.
Thanks for the responses guys. Another question regarding the mobile data, it is now using HSDPA instead of the 3g. When I disable my wifi, shouldn't the mobile data icon show up? It does not come back at all anymore. Do you think it is because before I was using SMODA widget(toggles the 3g)? or is there a way to make it go back to 3G?
Long time ADW user, but this doesn't seem to be working for me now. I'm using ADW Ex, and I'm trying to remove the outer glow on the icons when I press them. I go to change it to any color and set the alpha all the way down so it can't be seen, yet I still get the ugly ass orange square around my icons. Is there a different way to go about this? Thanks.
I had the same problem, I was trying to replicate my settings off my old Droid, but couldn't seem to find or get the settings right. Ended up using a Titanium Backup of ADW Ex from the old droid, and then changed what I wanted off that to get it right. I don't know if some of the old settings have been hidden or what.
Am I missing something here? I always use Nova launcher on my phones and it's always been so simple to set up but I can't seem to get it to work on this phone. I go into the app and all seems fine but it always reverts back to the Huawei launcher. I hate that launcher. It reminds me of an iPhone. Wouldn't be nearly as bad if I could figure out how to put all the apps in alphabetical order. What's going on? I really wanted to love this phone but it's not making it easy.
EDIT: Found the setting to allow me to change launcher. Weird that it didn't just ask me which launcher I wanted to use after I downloaded and opened Nova though.
