How do I get rid of the t-mobile MT3G splash screen?
After installing CM6.1 I now have 2 splash screens, the tmobile stock one and the CM6.1 splash screen with the droid and the rotating comet....
The T-Mobile always shows, at least until S-OFF comes and we can delete/change it.
In the rom zip go to /system/media/
There's a file named bootanimation.zip. Delete it before you flash.
OR
adb shell, then cd into /system/media/ and do the rm command

I am trying to load a bootanimation.zip that I made myself and I can not get it to load onto my G1 with CM 5.0.8 test3. I went to the terminal and replaced the bootanimation.zip that is in system/media/ and now it just has the old cyanogen loading screen that was on his version 4 ROMS.
What is the problem you are running in to? When you created the zip did you compress to "store"?
BTW... I love tool haha.
is the path not DATA\LOCAL?
tested it on my g1, pushed to /system/media using adb, works fine.
you should try using adb instead of terminal, see how it turns out.
you can try pushing to data/local instead, it should work too
I cant Seem To figure it out on my sprint hero.
I wanna change the plane green htc when i power on my phone.
an i changed the png images for the htc quality brillient, to a custom pic but when i load my phone that part is black till it gets to the sprint animation. what am i doing wrong? iv been using winrar from ziped files btw

I figured out the green hTc screen finally. took awhile.
still havent got the bootanimation down yet, just did a restore. Can i just open then images in paint an paste what i want over them an save it an copy the file to the zip folder? also where can i find some boot animations, idk what out there, iv seen the doid boot an i like it but is there anywhere i can get it in green insted of red?

put the bootanimation.zip on your sd then open terminal emulator and enter

thanks for ur help, mysplash screen is just like the hTc Incedible splash but black blackground an green letters an says hTc HerO an boot anim is green droid x now.
off my subject a little has any one figured out how to change icons an menu colors an what not an not have to use bettercuts or som other launcher

are you talking about the boot animation or the splash screen, like our white screen that says T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide? if you are wanting the boot animation... download ROM, unzip it, open "sysem" folder, open "customize" folder, open "resource" folder and you will see the boot animation .zip file
Unlike most threads I found, I'm not having a paste failure or anything. I'm trying to copy a boot animation to /system/media but no luck. It will say the paste completed or the rename of the old boot animation will complete but if I back out and go back in, the name will revert while the file I'm trying to paste won't even appear. What am I doing wrong?

First u must have root,then u MUST have s-off and esayest way to get soff is to make it to a cd then boot from that disk...
So you must have s-off...
There is no absolute way of loading a boot animation without having s-off?

to change my boot animation i jus went inside the phone using root explorer (w/ SU permissions) and switched the boot animation
Hello all.
I have a problem with my custom bootanimation. I always have a black screen instead of my animation.
I have a HTC wildfire cyanogen mod7 rooted.
I use the bootanimation I attached to this thread.
I do this (when in recovery mod, with mounted /data and /system, and USB connected) :
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local/
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media/
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/customize/ressource/
And my zip is well move to each directory.
But at restart, no animation, only black screen. Are my pictures (png, <40k, 240x135) too big ? Is the desc.txt incorect ? I can't find why it doesn't work, hope you will be able to help me as on this thread (where solution not given directly, and link's dead).
