Hi everyone!!
I have the Galaxy S since last couple of days, then I updated the firmware via Samsung Kies to froyo and when I turn it on, the Samsung Widgets option is missing;
I have looked all over the web for the last few hours , couldn't find anything about it .
Did anyone have had this problem before?
Can anyone help...
Thank you in advance.
The samsung widgets are not separated from normal widgets now

Try installing a different boot animation either from the themes section or use update zip and custom boot from rom kitchin .

Install Damiantweak and it has an entry to remove both start and close bootanimation, that is if you want to totally remove them, rather than change as indicated in the previous post.
Also note he now has a new paid app in the market that has a few more options, maybe try/buy that if this works for you ;-)
Thanks guys
Now I know what their coorect name is I will work the rest out

Currently its due for september.
seriously though, its released when its ready. No sooner.
And if the devs have to take the time to answer questions like this, then it will further delay the release.
If you really want to find out, read what alterbridge/pittbul have posted in the official thread in the dev section, like the rest of us.
Oh my God i can't wait for Overcome 2.1.

For me personally, i really need the auto-coffee-vending tweak, aswell as the flamethrower option.

I think we forgot to mention in the Changelogs that it will also turn your Tab into a microwave oven and a foldable car...
To the OP,
Follow the changelogs and release developments (when they happen) on teamovercome.net or on the main Overcome thread here on XDA
This is a bit of a pointless thread
All I need more from overcome are normal battery stats .... these are very annoying, every time I look at then I think I have android os bug ...

I seem to be spending most of my xda time on the sgs2 section....I'm happy with my tab, so just pop in now and again to see what is new. Basically to see if cm7 is matured, and also to see what wizardry the overcome team have produced.
But the sgs2 has tons more development(more is not necessarily better though, seeing as people just seem to be releasing 'themed' roms, nothing original apart from villainrom), but its a lot to keep up with
I can't live without the foldable car option.
I heard there will be invisibility built in too.

Overcome 2.01 crashes after upgrade from Overcome 1.6
Hi, I am new to the forum so please bear with me.
I had previously installed Overcome 1.6 on a Telstra Galaxy tab; I ran it for around 2 month with no hiccups. I recently updated to Overcome 2.01 to have video on skype; however ever since the upgrade the Tab is really unstable. It crashes every time I try to look for directions from google maps while on the road.
The crash is so severe that it won’t go past the overcome boot logo after restart. I reinstalled a couple of times with the same result. I also tried following the guide to step 6 and see if it also happened on the “factory fresh gingerbread” form; and this time it crashed as soon as I used the browser over wi-fi. The crash is as severe, the tablet shows a lot of pop up errors after boot and then it boots itself again.
Can I revert back to Overcome 1.6 while the new version (Android 2.3.4) is released; or I can’t go back from gingerbread to froyo?
Thank you for advising.
Cheers,

Hi There,
I indeed followed the instructions to the line the 3 times and the result is always the same.
I did notice that on the last step when loading the rom itself, the screen flickers a few times and during the "loading kernel" line a few blue lines appear; the process still finishes normally.
Should I use the Telstra modem file instead of the one on the JK3 folder?
Cheers,
hi carludo
crash while jusing wifi maybe the wrong modem. you are from australia?
is it a euro or asian tab? so look for the right modem. many times flash
the same maybe wrong.
best wishes to downunder.
Hi There,
Correct, it is a Telstra Galaxy tab, I used the modem file in the JK3 folder as per the instructions; I will give it another try and use hte modem file from that Testra restock thread and see if it makes a difference.
I will let you know later tonight how it goes.
Cheers from sunny Sydney
Hello
After five days of using my new galaxy s plus, it become so slow after exiting standby (unlocking). It needs about two or three minutes to back on its "normal" speed. Everything is so laggy and slow.
I've recently installed juice defender and I was thinking it's causing the problem, but the problem is still there after uninstalling JD. I've turned off most of my apps, but the problem is still here.
Any ideas what's causing this problem and how I, can fix it?
I have only three home screens and 4 widgets.

Wellcome to the "laggy" club... Which rom do you use? I found Value Pack roms extremly laggy on unlock. Im using stock non-deodexed (odexed ) KQ1 and I set lag to minimum. A
P.S. Please write in i9001 Q&A .. dont spamm main thread.

it happened the same to me as well...as of yesterday update 4.1.2 the ripple effect is gone ...That was the only feature that i loved most in the s3mini and the one feature that win me to buy this phone over htc or xperia and now its gone.So i did a little bit googling and looks like everyone that updated has the same problem..
With mixed sad and angry emotions i wrote to UK samsung customer support and heres what i got in answer :
"Thank you for contacting Samsung Customer Support.
I am sorry about this issue you are experiencing on your new Samsung Galaxy S III Mini. I can understand your frustration as you have lost your favourite feature.
It is most likely a case of a minor software confliction that is causing this issue to occur. We would recommend you resetting the device to resolve this issue. You can reset the device by going to Settings > Backup & Reset > Factory data reset.
Please note you will lose all applications and saved data, including your Google account, so ensure that you back up your device prior to performing the reset."
Since im fairly new to this android world(i only have the phone for 3 weeks and this is my first android phone) and i dont know anything about this factory reseting,So can a kind member of this forum who has experiance and expertise PLEASE tell me if this samsung support solution is actually gonna work or are they just trolling us? and if with the reset we get the ripple effect back is it going to roll back to 4.1.1(which i dont mind, just want the awesome ripple effect,my phone was working perfectly fine with 4.1.1 and so far i dont see any significant changes with 4.1.2 except the loss of the obvious ripple effect)..
Thank you for reading this,i know its a long text
If you factory reset you wont get the ripple effect back,is not there because it is not a feature of 4.1.2 if you want the ripple back you should flash a 4.1.1 rom through odin
Sent from my GT-I8190 using xda app-developers app
No. Its beacuse in 4.1.2 ripple effect was disabled.
Backup your userdata before roll back to 4.1.1 and do a factory reset. Otherwise you will have a lot of force close apps, or even bootloops.
It's a shame that even Samsung doesn't know what the hell they remove/add to a device with their updates
Just flash Benz rom and you'll have the ripple effect back.

It's not the exact same effect as in 4.1.1 I think.
And the Oscar for trolling goes to Samsung Customer Support(claps)...So,tday i decided to write them 2nd time just to let them know that the factory reset isnt gonna help and the fact that they have intentionally/unintentionally removed the ripple effect from 4.1.2 update for who knows what reasons and that its not just my device but all S3mini owners have the same issue with the upgrade...Here's the reply:
"Thank you for contacting Samsung Customer Support.
I’m sorry you have had to contact us twice with the ripple effect issue on your S3. I can understand your frustration as you should have got this sorted out the first time.
Regarding your issue, the water ripple affect is not coming up because you have not got your lock screen set to swipe.
To change the lock screen go to:
Apps>>Settings>>Lock screen>>Screen lock>>Swipe
This should get the ripple effect back for you. "
Just lol...First of all, before u can post the inquiry u have to choose the model, which i choose the GT-i8190 which of course is the S3mini model...Second,in my post there i specifically wrote that it is about the S3mini model...So either they dont care in general for the customers or they dont care for the owners of this model which is not exactly cheap,i payed darn 300euros to get it sim-lock free...
Now im frustrated and in doubt should i write to them 3rd time and curse them for this ridiculous responses or should i just make peace with it and wait for hopefuly another upgrade which will get the ripple effect back?
P.S. if u are wondering,my screen lock is on swipe, in fact i haven't even changed the wallpapers at all since i bought it 3 weeks ago

Why so desperate to have a ripple effect that "eats" battery? I even have have disabled all the animations and I've seen huge difference in batter consumption.

OMG, this thread deserves Mod_stick closure action... Have fun by reading and understanding posts and not asking obvious things. Blame Samsung? WTH? Blame yourself instead. This is not an "issue" or a "problem". Ripple effect is just not there and that's it. Want it back? Use search option or Google and stop moaning about it.
Period and close it down.
