This is a well know issue with any ROM running an I9000 kernel. If you need the wired headset functionality and quality Bluetooth then you must use a ROM with a kernel made for the Captivate...Try the COG versions, they are by far the best out there....
This is why I'm always confused when someone says i9000 roms don't have isssues... then you have someone that's new to the scene not realize they just gave up their earbug microphone lol

Wrong forum.
And if you are on cog, you should be able to.
How about stock.

Not if you are using any ROM built of the 2.2 beta.
I was able to use the wired headphones that came with the cappy on the cog roms that used the leaked froyo 2.2 just NONE that used the i9000 kernels. You should be able to use it on 2.3b6 if I remember correctly.
Cog'd Perception or Cog'd 2.3b6 depending on my need for flash addiction
The correct answer is:
As long as you don't use an I9000 kernel or any reorient kernels like Setiron's.
The wired headset works on ALL stock roms, i.e. JF6, JH7, JI6, etc, as well as Cognition based on JI6 or JJ4, or whatever it is now. I don't keep track of custom roms.

For phone calls or just music? I was of the belief that I9k kernels had no phone call support for wired headsets.

There was a fix by someone for the i9000 rom headset and perception8 no OC/no UV is working for music, calls, it pauses the music on a call and restarts it where it left off. Works really nice in fact. I think the volume is better than I had previously in other rims where it worked. I haven't tried it yet but Percent.8 OC/UV should be working also. I liked Percent. 7 OC/UV but had only one issue with the charging death. That seems to be fixed now on 8 with OC/UV so I will probably be flashing again today.

i would like to be able to use regular headphones while on a voice call on my captivate. the idea is that i would hold the phone near my mouth and use the built in mic. this would give me better sound quality than the built in speaker. i've tried this, and i don't get any sound through the headphones on a call. the sound still comes out of the built in speaker. is there a way to make this work? i'm on a 2.2.1 (JPY) ROM, with speedmod kernel. thanks.

It works. But try to make sure the headset isn't a huge one that needs more power. I use the headsets sometimes when home and use the mic on phone.

Hello
I have loaded many roms on my phone and I have been spoiled by them. My manager now wants me to use bluetooth to stream music as a demo. I know that cm7 and cognition do not work.
I was wondering if anyone knows a rom that works with streaming bt audio
I just cant stand this phone stock. :-(
Andromeda 3 works perfectly fine with streaming BT. I use it with my car radio, my BT headphones and the BT radio on my Harley.
What do you mean to stream bt audio? I have been using a stereo bluetooth headset daily for almost a year. It has worked on stock eclair and froyo, and on every custom ROM I have tried, cognition included. I haven't tried the beta GB Cog, but all the FroYo versions worked, and every other GB ROM has worked (never had the desire to try CM7 or MIUI)
Are you using a specific app to stream the music?
I have had on occasion the music stop working, but deleting the headset and re-adding it has always fixed it.

Andromeda 3 is golden, best 2.2 rom available. Love it.

Hi,
A couple of weeks ago I flashed the ICS Dark knight 2.1 into my phone and I am using Semaphore 0.9.1. This is probably the best ROM I have ever had in my phone, it has been working flawlessly since (no freezing or rebooting!). However I have a problem when trying to pair the phone with my car's (Peugeot 5008) audio system using bluetooth. Both devices are able to see each other but when trying to pair I got a "criteria for synchronization not met" error message. Bluetooth used to work ok when using GB or Froyo ROMs and It is still working with a HTC Desire. Any idea of how could I solve this issue?
Thanks in advance
Paring issue solved: it was a kernel thing. I solved it by flashing devil kernel. Now everything is working just perfect and better battery life too!

When I am making the call, I got the calling tone through the car's audio system. When I have an incoming call I got both the call tone from my phone and a different incoming (predefined) call tone through the car's system. Hope this answers your question

Now i have install an app that connect bluetooth when i received a call and sometimes i have ringtone in the car's speakers! But very random... realy don't understand!

Didn't change the kernel yet, but made a few tests.
With a bluetooth heaset and with another car, a 2011 Seat Ibiza.
In the bt headset i have a little bip's and in the Ibiza i have ringtone from the car speakers. The problem is really in my car...
Should i try to change de kernel anyway?

When I had the problem the Bluetooth paring worked alright with other devices (such as headsets). I guess it depends a lot on the device you are trying to sync... I wool try changing the kernel if this problem is really annoying. It takes less than 5 minutes with cwm.

The thing is that i'm running the CM9 4.0.4 nigthly and i'm not sure of what kernel's can i use. I think that i can try this ones above:
-Derteufel's Devil kernel for CM9 (current version is 1.1.6b/ 3.1.10)
-Tk-Glitch's Glitch kernel for CM9 (current version is v14-Beta6/ 3.1.10)
-stratosk's icSemaphore kernel for CM9 (current version is 0.9.1/ 3.0.8 )
-mialwe's midnight kernel for CM9 (current version is 0.7.4/ 3.0.8)
But first i will try to find more information.
Many thanks for your time!

As I said in my first post, I was using the Semaphore Kernel v0.9.1 with the Dark Knight v2.1 ROM. I tried updating the kernel to Semaphore v0.9.5b and nothing happened (except battery drained faster ;-). Then I changed it to Devil 1.1.6b and it worked all right

Problem automatically connection
Hi,
I use Dark Knight 3 (4.0.3) as ROM with the Devil Kernel.
I can connect to my car (Ford Focus) but the phone does not connect automatically as it did with Froyo before. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Michael
I know porting ICS and JB on I9000 was difficult, but since it got ported and I switched to ICS/JB (currently running Slim Bean 2.6), I tried installing different roms on my phone and I stumbled on the same problem. I'm using a pair of bluetooth headphones (DELL BH200). On 2.3.7 (darky 9.5 if I recall correctly) they were running perfectly fine, and the call function had no issues. Since the update to JB/ICS, bluetooth connects correctly, the multimedia buttons work, but when I'm recieving a bluetooth call, I can hear the tone in the headphones, I can answer the call, but both the microphone and sound in headphones don't work (bluetooth selected in call app). Sometimes (depends on the rom), if I try to switch to speaker or phone headphone the call just crashes or the switch doesn't happen at all. So, what I am asking is: is this a common problem ? Is there a fix ? Would a clean install help ? Or should I revert to 2.3.7 (I'd rather stick to JB or ICS for the small drawback of not being able to use my headphones as a handsfree device)

give this a try.
I did. Still not working. Maybe I should explain the problem again: the headphones work at recieving audio while using the phone as media player, and I can hear the system sounds until I try to call someone or someone tries to call me. At that moment they stop working all together until I reconnect them. It's almost like the system can't switch from phone headphones to bluetooth and it would't use any of them until I disconnect the headphones. Similar to a windows sound driver crash that needs restarting. Maybe it's just the dialer/phone app or the modem. Can I flash a GB modem while using a JB rom ? Or are there any bluetooth drivers that can be replaced with older ones ? I'm not sure it's a driver problem. I'll try calling over skype.
Skype call over bluetooth doesn't work either.

I would try to install a GB modem onto my phone, but, will it influence in any way the bluetooth interface ? Also, can I safely flash a 2.3.6 modem onto a JB rom ?
