Hello
I have loaded many roms on my phone and I have been spoiled by them. My manager now wants me to use bluetooth to stream music as a demo. I know that cm7 and cognition do not work.
I was wondering if anyone knows a rom that works with streaming bt audio
I just cant stand this phone stock. :-(
Andromeda 3 works perfectly fine with streaming BT. I use it with my car radio, my BT headphones and the BT radio on my Harley.
What do you mean to stream bt audio? I have been using a stereo bluetooth headset daily for almost a year. It has worked on stock eclair and froyo, and on every custom ROM I have tried, cognition included. I haven't tried the beta GB Cog, but all the FroYo versions worked, and every other GB ROM has worked (never had the desire to try CM7 or MIUI)
Are you using a specific app to stream the music?
I have had on occasion the music stop working, but deleting the headset and re-adding it has always fixed it.

Andromeda 3 is golden, best 2.2 rom available. Love it.

I am wondering if there has been any improvements to bluetooth on any of the roms out there. I know there has been some threads regarding the issues with bluetooth since 2.1 and I personally am having issues with my phone staying synced to my car (worked perfect in 1.5). Also does anyone know if froyo get an update to address bluetooth bugs? Thanks.
Bluetooth in 2.1 has been hit or miss depending on the brand you are trying to attach to. I have bluetooth on my computer and can use it fine with my phone. Audio works fine and it stays connected. It could be because I have froyo. IDK.
BTW-This should be in Q&A
BlueTooth does seem to be a little less picky in FroYo.
Hummm maybe its time to try froyo and see if it fixes my issues

This is a well know issue with any ROM running an I9000 kernel. If you need the wired headset functionality and quality Bluetooth then you must use a ROM with a kernel made for the Captivate...Try the COG versions, they are by far the best out there....
This is why I'm always confused when someone says i9000 roms don't have isssues... then you have someone that's new to the scene not realize they just gave up their earbug microphone lol

Thank you guys. Well, i'll try the cog version if i find any availible wifi hotspot in our campus. i can't download the cw recovery with my Gprs connection right now...
All of the 2.2 based ROMs don't have the headset functionality I'm looking for, and it appears it's a 2.2 issue.
Is anyone still working on 2.1 based ROM's?
Whether it's still under development or not, where can I find a couple of good simple bloatware free 2.1 based ROMs?
I tried searching the development forum, but there's so much about current ROMs (2.2 based) that I can't filter through them and find a 2.1 based ROM.
Thanks, alabamaroping
what headset functionality do you think is broken on all 2.2 roms? those issues have all been resolved unless you have some random new one
I'm looking to have the call output routed through a standard headset connection, NOT the headset that came with the phone that supports mic, and stereo audio out.
A standard headphone connection only has the audio out, no mic. (as I'm sure you know). I'll be listening to music in my truck, and a call will come in and i'll have to unjack the 3.5mm jack and grab the phone instead of the call just routing through the speakers.
I've tried the following: (Cognition 2.3b7, AXURA 2.4, eSPyeL's ROM Beta3.4.1). None of them work.

AS far as I know no one is still working on 2.1 roms anymore. To tell the truth from all the roms I have have seen the "issue" with the headset without a mic may not be a clitch. I will have to ask a few people that got the 2.2 official update to make sure but I think it was changed on purpose by google. (could be wrong though, will have to wait till I talk to some people)
The car dock allows call output to standard headphones, just got mine yesterday and it works. But, you know it's against the law almost everywhere to wear headphones and drive right?
Captivate Froyo / Perception Build 9 - Cog Kernel 4

no headphones
Actually, I don't drive with headphones. I have a 3.5mm jack run into my truck stereo system. It's the same as a headphone jack, so I just use that as an example.
I've been using headphones to test functionality when sitting in my office, and the jack is the same, so I've been using the two interchangeably.
However, you are correct: it's unsafe to drive with headphones, but I see the iPeople doing it with their iPhones & iPods all the time.
The only 2.1 ROM out there still that should be available is Cognition. Lord knows though I haven't tried to download it... buyer beware.
Might just be easier to keep your "stock" 2.1 - Root it and get an application like Titanium Backup that will uninstall the bloat on your phone.
And.. I thought the issue for 2.2 custom ROMS were due to the use of i9000 modems/kernels? Or was that only Bluetooth?

Also, does the bluetooth issue still exist on the never versions? I haven't used my bluetooth earpiece in along time so I haven't bothered to try on these newer roms.
Ever since I upgraded to Cognition 4.1.1, it wont allow me to connect Bluetooth Audio to my car radio. The stock (Captivate) ROM worked fine and Im pretty sure the Cognition 3.x also worked. Whenever I clock on the Bluetooth device "SYNC" and click under options, it wont allow me to check the Bluetooth audio button. Any ideas/fixes?
Hi all!
Since ICS i have choppy audio via bluetooth. I've tried from flashing different kernels/roms to fullwipes. It works on GB based roms (i've downgraded a couple of times to check).
The thing is... i like ICS and JB, but this issue is like a rock in my shoe
I bought this headphones in Deal Extreme. The headphones model is the t909s. These works on other phones, so this doesn't seem to be the problem.
Does anyone know something about it? someone has the same issue?
i am using a Jabra stree2 headset and on Stock ICS 4.0.4 and works very well.. no issue what so ever
I am having the same issue - Samsung Galaxy Note.
When I was on gingerbread 2.3, I had no issue with streaming audio via bluetooth - smooth and crisp.
When I updated to ICS 4.0.4 OTA, I noticed my bluetooth audio would lag and skip which caused the audio to be choppy
Things i have noted:
-Bluetooth audio: Skip/lag/choppy on certain tracks (i read from other forums that this is due to 320kb)
-Aux audio (bluetooth turned off): As good as it was on Gingerbread 2.3 - clear smooth audio
-Aux audio (bluetooth turned on, but not connected): Audio began to skip and was chopping even though it was plugged in directly. **INTERESTING**
So it would seem that turning on the bluetooth signal itself causes the audio to lag......
I am having the same issue....exactly d same prob i am facing...
