X1 Can't renew Custom Firmware? - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I had an issue with my X1. I've already done the hardspl and the setup of the Walkyrie V5 a long time ago...
Yet i want to update my rom and i do the volume down + start button to have the canari mode... > But nothing . It works before !
I'll try to redo a hard spl , my phone reboot and i have a "loading" and nothing too.. And a connection error on my pc. But the usb cable is ok...
Help please...

I will be stating the obvious, simply because the littlest things may be overlook.
-Make sure your battery is charged more than 50%
-It is suggested to Task 29 before you install another rom
-Format memory card to FAT 32 and place the renamed rom into it and unplug USB cord
-Make sure phone is off, then Hold Volume Down + Power Button to boot tri-color screen
I think thats it o_o

Action button is the middle of the optical joypad.
to reflash connect from your computer with a USB cable and use the Custom Radio RUU
AND DO NOT GO AROUND FLASHING THINGS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!
Thanks a lot for fast response!!!
I was flashing one of the Radio ROMs here in the thread, that was in the list as worked, maybe it was transfer failure to MicroSD card, now it don't matter.
I power now Xperia on, then see that 4-color screen, then now i see kovsimg.nbh- RADIO and "Press power button to start update image" and "Press action button to cancel update image". If i press the middle of optical joystick-as you said-then it happens nothing-i see the same screen...What schould i do????

Strange for you, but well known phenomena: your flash didn't complete
You'll have to flash again from a PC or by copying a new radio file to your microSD card, or you can use "mtty"... sorry there's no other way but reaching a PC
I have notebook here, but i can't connect to my phone, because it start always in boot mode.Is here some method to connect to phone without Active synch in that bootloader mode???I understand now-i must copy right file on my MicroSD card, how i can do it wothout MicroSD Cardreader and only with a phone starting in boot mode???

you can't access the sd-card without a Cardreader but you dont have to. In the 4-color screen you should see the text "USB" when you connect the phone to the pc (as far as I remember, when the device is not connected to the pc instad of "USB" the text is "SERIAL"). In that mode you can use the RUU to update your device.
Mastermarv,
thank you very much!!!I was worked for me-i was using RUU Radio utilities in bootloader mode and flashed orig. Radio ROM-now it all started OK and all work again!!!!!Uf-f-f,so one "abenteuer"...
Thank you all the people, those tried to help me in this situation, much appreciated your help!!!!
Now i can some relax...

Rom problem!!!!

I just had to Hard SPLW my ROM. In order to put a new one on: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=3576661&posted=1#post3576661
Right now, the screen shows:
Smart Mobility
And the little red loading things on bottom right... its been stuck like that..
HELP!
Hello.
I'm sorry to hear about your problems. Having put the new hard spl on there, I would recommend loading a rom on there of your Choice. I recommend either Daviddeuck, or Dutty as your starting point. So.
Go to the wiki, read carefully about how to load the rom on there (very similar to hard spling your phone) and follow the steps to loading a rom on there.
Let me know how it goes, and good hope to you.
Caid.
edit.
I was going to post a link, here's a better suggestion.
I'll just tell you what to do.
Download a rom, it should come with the installer.
Make sure your phone is charged up. If you've left it plugged in till the light on the power button is green, it should be full (I know you can't check the meter in windows as windows isn't loading).
Once it's charged, run the installer that came with your downloaded rom of choice.
Make sure your phone is connected to your computer through USB, and that it is on.
If windows mobile center recognizes your phone, that's even better.
Now that you're all set up and you have the installer loaded, follow the steps indicated by the installer. Wait for the installer bar to finish and the phone to reboot.
If you can't load the rom on your phone this way, you can put the rom onto an SD card (into the main directory of the card, not into any folder), then you can hold the volume down button on your phone and press and hold the power button. The phone should boot into a red blue and green screen. It will ask you if you want to upgrade the rom, press volume up to begin, and wait for it to finish.
Once again, make sure your battery is charged.
The memory card method is the easiest method to updating your phone, although I usually use the first method myself. If windows isn't loading on your phone, you may be unable to do that, so try the memory card method.
Summary.
Put the rom on your memory card, in the main folder.
Press and hold the volume down button, and the power button.
Phone will boot into a three coloured screen(red blue green).
Press volume up to begin update.
Let the install finish.
Don't turn off your phone while it's updating.
Wait for it to reboot and load.
Good hope to you.
Caid.

Diamond doesn't start

My HTC Touch Diamond jammed so I turned it off and then tried to turn it on again. But it stuck on the HTC logo and won't continue. I tried to pull out the battery for a few minutes, I pulled I the SIM, nothing works. It won't start, but it can partially connect to PC via ActiveSync: The synchronization can't be performed, but I can access data on the device.
Is there any way to fix it?
I'm using Cloudy ROM 1.2 and radio 1.00.25.05.
Try to flash a new ROM !!!
- Turn off the phone
- connect the Usb cable
- Press and hold the volume down button
- power on the phone
- If everthing works you will see color stripes
- if you can read USB in the bottom stripe your Diamond is ready to be flashed
I think its the only way out !!!!!
I didn't want to wait any longer, so I performed hard reset and restored system data from backup file (I lost, of course some setting and I will have to install some recently installed programs again, but what can you do )

[Q] An huge problem!!

Sorry, but I have a big big problem. I have an x1, and I flashed the previous version of Energy Rom on the sd card. BUT I wanted to re-flash these, and the phone blocked in initial screen..the update rom one..
So, every time I try to update, it starts and after a few second, and when it start to update, the screen turns off. Finally, anyone can help me? I don't know how I can fix this situation PLEASE, HELP ME!!

Remove your Micro SD-CARD, and enter in flash mode! Volume down + power on!
Open the Update Phone Utility with the rom of your choice! Remember to rename your rom to: KOVSIMG.nbh
Sorry for English.

Someone has the same problem? I don't know what to do, I'm desperate! I can't use my phone
first remove sd card.
then pull out battery, press power button without battery on phone for about 30 sec.
then place battery. try to hard reset without OS:
press and hold both softkeys of X1, and press power button to turn on phone. but don't release softkeys until appears blue text with white background. slide put keyboard press R, wait to complete then press SPACE.
phone will be hard resetted. if not helped to boot OS, or there's no OS, or you did task29 before then do another task29 after this prosedure.
hope it helps

did you try method that wrote first.
and off course try another usb port, or another usb cable.
because if the phone did'nt recognized by PC, it means there's problem with cable or usb port if other things are OK.

Bricked Diamond, does not power on

I’ve flashed my phone many times before, but this was my first time using MTTY and I’ve ****ED UP. I don't think the problem is from MTTY, that’s why I’m posting this under general section, so please keep reading.
From The DEFINITIVE MTTY Thread (Flashing From USB):
5c: type "task 29" to get your device formatted
5d: type "task 8" to ask your device reboot
6: Immediately DISCONNECT your device then Press and Hold Vol Down to bring the device back to bootloader and connect to USB.
7: Run ROM Flasher and flash via USB. After rom flash is completed Hard-reset (Pen Reset, then Press and Hold Vol Down and Circle) then allow the ROM to boot.
I have successfully completed step 6 but I got confused at step 7, so I decided to read some more documentation. As far as I know, keeping the device in bootloader mode does not charge the battery (the light circle does not blink) so I removed the battery in order to keep it from discharging (power button did not work), thinking I could power on the device later and connect it in bootloader mode again. Boy was I wrong. The phone is completely dead now.
Do i have a new piece of furniture? Thanks and sorry for my english.

make sure the battery is fully charged after that put the batteries in the device, then make the device go to bootloader with Press + Hold Vol Down and connect to USB so you can resume back to Flash ROM
Good luck blitz13

Thanks for your answer Hakim. I left the battery in the fridge overnight and managed to bring the phone back to life just enough to do a quick flash.
