Regarding HTC - P4350

Hi people
I have a magician pda (o2xda2mini running on WM 2003SE).I wanted to go for a new one so i found HTC - P4350 to be good.I think its HERALD..Before that i have some quires.If u can plz spend some time...
1.It comes with WM5..Can i upgrade to WM 6 or 6.1?
2.Can i get all those cube and sliding effects like diamond(by installing softwares from xda...)
3.Is it a good phone(speed) coz its only got 200Mhz processor where as my present one(O2 XDA2 mini has 416 mhz)
4.How is the reception?coz my xda2mini sucks
5.DO u have any other good pda's to suggest?TYTNII is too costly.
Plz help me go for a good deal..

1. Read all about HARDSPL and USPL but you have to know that there always is a risk that you might brick your phone so yes but risky. If you follow all the instructions though there is a high percentage you can do it but read at least like 6 hours b4 you do anything ^^
2. Yes and performance is good.
3. You can use batterystatus to overclock the cpu to at least 260 thats always stable and it's a nice phone everything I use works flawlessly and the 25ish RAM you got after installing some progs is most of the times enough too.
4. With a custom ROM that has a new radio built in it's perfect never had no reception anywhere but I'm living in a big town in germany so dunno if it's different on the countryside.

as i surfing other phone threads i saw many WM 6.1- MANILA 2.5 cooked rom for X1 TP2 and diamond2 and... is there any thing for Blackstone ? as in my opinion WM6.1 is much much faster than WM6.5. I almost tried all wm6.5 roms but they are buggy and slower than WM6.1.
the only one for blackstone found is Miri Wm6.1 with manila 2.5 which is fast but rather old and it is DISCONTINUED!

The problem with the buggyness is not due to win 6.5 but Manila 2.5, the problems would be at least the same with 6.1.
I suggest u try some of the win 6.5 + manila 2.1 that there are around such as miri v30, they're very fast and very stable.

Guess why? Because in contradiction to your opinion, almost everybody here regards WM 6.5 as fast, more user friendly, better looking, and bugfree.
As he said: Try 6.5 with Manila 2.1, because it is 2.5 that is slowing down things with the slow Touch HD processor, not 6.5.

yes . tried those V30 and V12 also. they are acceptable but not running smooth. I think Blackstone lack of drivers for WM6.5 causes that. they freezes randomly so not good for daily uses. I almost lost some of my important information using those roms but they are good things to experience things coming future! how ever I think manila 2.5 will run better on Blackstone. now I am switched to miri WM6.1 with manila 2.5 but the version of manila used there is older manila 2.5 one which is buggy and the rom is also discontinued.
-I am also thinking of overclocking the blackstone processor as the last solution since I damaged my htc prophet one because of overclocking

Why don't you try it. I'm using her for more than a month and I'm really quite happy. And, since I don't use Facebook nor Twitter, everything is working well. I can even send a 160 crt SMS that with all the others 6.5 Rom's wasn't possible.
At least for now, this is my Rom, and will be the backup Rom if I decide to restart flashing new ones.

for sure! I am now playing with this rom. its fast and smooth. manila is working as what it should be and smooth as i saw in the demo of HD2. however since this rom is discontinued the manila is rather old 2.5 one which having some problems. how ever i am now forget about some broken things and I am happy with this rom.

is miri V3.0 the only WM6.1 and Manila 2.5 available? is there is any other please provide me with the link. thanks

i am using toopix and it's the best. i tried all 6.5 with manilla 2.1 and 2.5 and always had to come back to toopix. i just need an application that does the work of footprint and it will be perfect.

I agree with you. All WM6.5 ROM I tried are slower then WM6.1 ones.
Now I'm using Miri's WM6.1 Manila2.5 and it's fast, very fast.
I have also update some packages. The only bugs I've are: Facebook and Footprints. Also the default WM6.1 is very bad... but I'm working on it to replace with a third part action screen.

Hey, do you mind tell me which version you are using?
I'm using miri wm6.1 + Sense 2.5. I gotta say, I love WM6.1 better than 6.5. I find the battery life is better. Also, the speed is better than 6.5. I'm not saying 6.5 is slow, just 6.1 is faster than 6.5.

People still use 6.1? There is a reason noone puts 2.5 on 6.1
Its so OOOOLLLLDDD. Live in the NOW! once you go kinetic you can't go back! Once you made that move the next one is clear, once you go 6.5.1 + 2.5 there is definitely no going back! Unless you don't commend appearance or usability high on your list.....then you can stick with 6.1

I am a fellow topix follower, but I love the new 6.5.1 far too much to worry that it takes a few more miliseconds to do things. BOOHOO
P.S, do you still use windows 95? Cos its ALOT faster than xp, vista, and windows 7. I use windows 7 cos it looks god damn gorgeous (and way more features lol) - catch my drift?

the twitter tab is not working on this ROM, i want manila 2.5 for that only.
else i m very happy with my current ROM

touchpro2 2x faster

why htc touchpro 2 is much more faster than touch diamond 2 and touch hd although same hardware specially in weather animations

i have noticed the same as i have booth devices
but i cant really tell you why it is
maybe the tp2 has a better chipsetdriver

isnt is possible to extract the chipsetdriver of a rom just like they did whit the video driver of x2
then im willing to try the chipsetdriver of rhodium on my blackstone(its insurred so i get a new one if its bricked and whit a little luck a leo

another note when tp2 was wm 6.1 it was like the hd in speed so that the new drivers are with the upgrade 6.5 i think

may i ask why its not important?
the tp2 is much more responsive and faster then hd while it has the same hardware
if the tp2 has a better chipsetdriver that could be the answer why its faster then the houre hd
if it is the chipset driver i think some one here on this site has the skills and abbilitys to extract the chipsetdriver and make it hd compatible and therefore our hd's might become faster and more responsive whit 6.5

we are talking about improving the hd to be like the tp2 so it is important and related to the hd forum

will a full port help?
I'm talking about dump the official TP2 rom and port all the stuff (SYS XIP OEM) to the HD so that nothing is left out.. I don't have any knowledge on this, just purely guessing..

but to come back to the rom on the second post the first line is
Blackstone 1.56.709.0 rom xip and drivers (because of the native wm6.5 kernel)
so it still has the blackstone drivers
and not the rhodium chipsetdriver if they even are different

just checked the official site, the CPU of HD is different then the other two.
HD: Qualcomm® MSM 7201A™ 528 MHz
TP2: Qualcomm® MSM7200A™, 528 MHz
Topaz: Qualcomm® MSM7200A™, 528 MHz
don't know if they make any difference in performance?

In fact HD uses a newer but incomplete 7201A.
And Touch Diamond 2 and TP2 uses 7200A.
Don't be mislead by the number. 7200A is faster than 7201A (a half completed product).
So... TP2 and Diamond 2 are both faster than HD.

AFAIK, thats the case, else we would have had their drivers a while back as cooks have been using rhodium/topaz stuff since january-february time.

your name is already HD2 Win 7, why not just use the HD2 with WM 6.5?????

I purchased the HTC HD7 mobile, I thing, I did mistake for choosing this mobile phone because it's windows phone 7 installed on it. Please kindly don't say if I purchase the HTC HD2. At the moment you can't, it may be possible in the future. My advise is sell the HD7 and get an HD2, then you can have WM6.5, WP7 or Android.

WM is a cracking os tho, not pretty and not slick but its a beast an can do pretty much anything you want, it would be good even if someone could get magldr on here and then get WM booting of an SD....

Some one has created the RSPL, DFT or something... maybe they can offer you the RSPL and u can load the HD2 WM6.5 on your HD7....

Will HD2's win 6.5 rom work on hd 7?
If I have hd2's win 6.5 rom, is there anyway I can install it on HD7?
My HD7 is unlocked from T-mobile.
I can go into bootloader and it says it's unlocked.
I really need help as I like 6.5 more than 7.0
Also, can I makeup a backup of my 7.0 rom before I put 6.5 on it?

Why wont anyone listen in this thread?!?!?! You CANNOT put WM6.5 on the HD7 at this time period.
Perhaps as the development for the HD7 grows then MAYBE there could be a way to dualboot but until then it is IMPOSSIBLE.

Are you sure you want to go back to a stylus? Or a half stylus / half finger os... What I really miss from WM6.x, 6.5 is the Tomtom, Garmin Navigation Software... I guess is a matter of time until we get useful apps on WP7... But anyway, I really understand your desire... we might see some 6.5 roms in the near future as soon as the developers at xda.cn give some info away...

Sorry but you can't replace winmo with android but you can run android from your sd card.you can find lots of tutorial on the net

No it's only working for kaiser

As the Diamond goes, the DIAM100 is unfortunately the inferior model. If you can get your hands on a solid DIAM500 model (the improved CDMA unit), you can do a lot more, and they can be had on eBay for around $30 which gets you a decent smartphone that is great for prepaid (or postpaid) plans.
Just watch out for blacklisted ESNs, and you'll be good.
