Actually, i am at work now so i don't have the usb cable. I was searching for support for right to left languages in WP7 such as Arabic, but i found this topic which confirm that we can install any third party app without requiring a Marketplace developer account. could anybody confirm..?

It doesn't work on my HD7.
I installed the cert, but it can't connect to the phone.
It does see if it's locked or not, however.
I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
oooops i already have the same at home Win 7 X64. so, i have to try on X32 version.
: )
I tried on W7 Ultimate 32 bit aswell, it gives an error immediately.
On 64 bit I get an error after I click on Update
they have discontinued their developer unlocking tool.
I tried on a 32bit pc, didn't work.
It chucks the error as soon as the program starts.
I also tried in safe mode, but Zune can't connect to the phone.

Unlock issue and fix
I was posting onto a thread a few days ago but it has been locked now so thought Id post the fix I found in the end.
The problem
I bought a t-mobile hd7 from a store in California and wanted to unlock it for use in the uk. Unfortunately htc hadn't published the IMEI code so no website could unlock it.
Solution
I went to allot of different sites recommended on here and eventually googled http://www.cellunlock.net . They also could not unlock my phone but offered to find an unlock for me in 3-20 days. 3 days later they came through with a code and my device is now unlocked.
I hope this helps people!
This code from Crackberry.com will give you a %50 discount by the way - DSC-23
not sure if it will still work but it brings the price down to the same as other sites

You can Request a Unlock code from T-mobil because the don't have a international plan they have to unlock the phone for you i take about a Week fro you to get the unlock code just let the tech suppor know that you travel out side the US and they will get you the code.

they told me a week, I had the email the next day (for my hd2, not my hd7).
I am told that if I buy a HTC HD7 on an o2 simplicity 30 day contract then contact o2 to say that their signal is too poor where I live they will unlock it for a fee.
Can anyone confirm this?
I live in the UK in a known poor signal area.
well its workin now. hmmm actually i am planing to explore my device i mean the files, and trying to add other keyboard layout i mean Arabic.
What can jailbreak/unlock do besides the network/sim unlock? Can it provide access to things like in the iPhone to cydia and installous where we can get free apps or is it a WIP? Either way I was looking at chevron wp7 jailbreak tool. What does that do? Sorry abt the noob questions.

Hi, does anyone know if this is a genuine quote from Julien Schapman, seems to have shelved his jailbreak device manager.
Because I was bored getting hundreds of emails from people asking me to send them WP Device Manager so they can continue to use pirated applications, and because there will be a short term solution for homebrews, I decided not to include my jailbreak tool. I respect other developers and I don’t want to be responsible for piracy, I’ve been contacted by Brandon Watson from Microsoft and I wish to be involved in the official homebrew support on Windows Phone.
Thanx.

Hi guys,
Im totally new to the android scene.. Just got the phone like literally 30mins ago. I am coming from the sony xperia.. gonna put that aside for a bit while i play with the g1 I got the phone used so, aparently i can already jump into the menu and what not.. Now maybe some of you guys who have already been through the process can tell me something.. Do i need to obtain a unlocking code from one of those sites out there. ( I'm att user. do not have tmobile) Or.... can i simply flash to one of the rom out here and get bypass that?
Simunlock is not related to the build of Android you have installed. You will need to buy a code or ask a friend with T-Mo to obtain one for you.
cool that was quick. thanks. going to get the code from http://www.unlock-tmobileg1.com/
gotta start doing research on what this sucker can do. hehe
how do you know what build he has? American versions of the G1 can be unlocked for free.

Firstly, XDA has got to be THE source for knowledge/info for all types of mobile platforms and phones...
with an exception of Nokia/Symbian based devices
I currently came into possession of a two nokia phones, a n70 and a n86 for free
However, they are both locked and requires firmware flashing.
Thus, I was wondering if XDA had some sort of a sister site or if users had knowledge of
a forum/site that could help me out on the Nokia/Symbian end as XDA has so graciously helped
me out with Android
Thanks.
If the N70 is just network locked, you need a DKU-5 data cable to unlock these phones, as well as the unlocking tool. Not sure about the N86 though.
A friend of mine has an N70, and he said it was only Network locked. Shouldn't be too tough.
Grab a DKU-5 cable and google the DKU5 BB5 unlocking tool.
After you got the tool, follow the instructions, and you should now have a fully unlocked N70.
N70
The N 70 is one I like from Nokia. They are still trying to get up with the other builders as far as a more sleek larger build phone this is the one that comes closest

go to symbian freak.. register and ask there.. loads of help there.. bot of the phones you have mentioned should be S60V3 so look there..

you can't buy one. I happened to stumble into one, and i'm trying to do everything i can to bring it back to normal, since the phone won't update itself.
If I may suggest, there are people on this site who could do far more useful things with a phone like that. Heathcliff74, for example, is working on a root-unlock for WP8 (as am I) and a non-secure-boot test device would be useful to him (though I don't know if he actually needs a device at this time, or what he'd pay; that was just an example of somebody who might be interested). You can probably recoup most or all of the money you sunk into it and give the hacking community a boost as well.
Oh, and @tgriger, we can already do that. I found out how a couple weeks ago. Read the dev&hacking subforum.

i'd like to do that, but i'm from italy... i kind of doubt there is a safe way for the phone to arrive to you intact, plus the fees are outrageous. If someone wants to buy it can talk to me in private thought, i'll see if i can arrange it. But you can't disable secureboot once the fuse is blown, so i think you can't root the device; and the feaure i think it's provided at the SOC level. And i'm a little bit of a rom developer, so if i learn how to change things i can provide a platform for mods. I can even tell you this: if someone pays me the fees and buy me a new one( the phone is like new, it was bought march 2013 and it had no sign of being used a lot, and on expansys is at 230€ so i think it's fair, it was over 500€ when i bought it)

@Heathcliff74 is from the Netherlands, so shipping would not be too hard from Italy. Also I just bought an ATIV S from Amazon.de for a bit under 200€.
A non-secureboot device would just be a test platform, not something that it's expected that all devices would be able to make use of. Secure Boot isn't perfect; there are ways around it (some are device-specific, which is less ideal but seems likely to exist on most smartphones; others are not). However, while some people hack on SB, others could hack on making *use* of the ability to install custom ROMs. That's where an unlocked bootloader device would be handy.
Also, yeah, there are lots of European phone hackers. No need to worry about sending it to the US!
It's an interesting device for sure. But there is no way I can afford € 200 now. I have a wife an kids to support too, you know. Maybe at a later time.

Hello!
I don't know if this is a stupid question or not, but here goes; Is there a developer unlock for WP8 that one can attain for free? Before I switched to WP8 I had a full developer unlock on my Omnia WP7.8
I searched the forum & google but I couldn't find anything that helped except for some threads about dreamspark or something in that direction.
I'm not sure if this is the right forum or not so if it is indeed wrong, could an admin move it?
Thank you,
Jelloshot
Try this and tell me what will came up?
I`ve dev unlocked my phone and gained the max 10 app limit trough Dreamspark and i am really curious will this work.

It's exactly the same process as on WP7, except you need the new version of the SDK and you can now use *any* Microsoft account...
This is the official FunkyHuawei support thread for the Mate 20 Pro.
The below applies to both the Mate 20 and the Mate 20 Pro.
Install:
Currently FunkyHuawei has a new install method for EMUI 9 devices which is not public as of yet.
Unbrick:
Unbricking will be possible with the new HiSuite 9 method, but it is not public as of yet.
Rebrand:
Rebranding is not currently planned to be offered. Neither is single sim to dual sim conversion. This may change in the future.
Unlock:
Unlock codes are available via the unlock code order form, or by purchasing an unlimited pass. See the site for details.
If you have a global variant, make sure that you can choose Enable OEM Unlock in developer options. So far we have seen the option grayed out on all devices. If you can't enable this, even with the code, you can't unlock the bootloader.
It has been confirmed that bootloader unlocking on the Chinese variant is possible. On the global variant we can give you the code, but you'll need to be able to choose Enable OEM Unlock as specified above.
Root:
The methods which are not public are available to those who want to test them, by contacting FunkyHuawei support by email.
We will update this thread with any changes.
so I have to purchase for unlocking my device?
what the ..
I would prefer bootloader unlock with paid service rather than having Mate 20 Pro with access limitation. Since you as the owner, you should've the right to use your phone the way you want it. Since the official unlock method was suspended months ago, what else option do we have?

Think we've gotta wait for Friday onwards, as seemingly people with devices now (presumably different software wise?) have the OEM unlock option greyed out in developer options.
As far as my understanding goes, if we can check that option, we can't unlock the bootloader..... Sad times if so.
I'll be hopefully getting my device on Friday and I'll be sure to see if that option is an option for me...
So is there any way to unlock bootloader other than OEM unlock?

As far as I know that setting needs to be checked, we need to be able to select Allow. Without it I don't think the bootloader can be unlocked, but I'd be gladly proved wrong!

May change in the future, but right now, any kind of rebranding is looking very unlikely.
The same software updates can be offered for all brandings, which is a plus, so there shouldn't be such a need to rebrand, even if you have an obscure branding.
But enabling dual sim on single-sim, is looking very unlikely with the current state of things. We are looking into it, though.

Demanding a ransom? LOL.
They're a business providing a service.
If others want to do it for free, there's nothing stopping them from doing so. The problem is, I doubt there will be enough people interested in doing that ... the Huawei / Honor development community has already been shattered.

I mentioned before, I need the device in hand to do it. No way currently exists that I could offer people to do at home. That might change in the future, but that is the current situation.
With the Chinese version, you can likely simply unlock the bootloader and root like any other phone.
With the global version, you could theoretically do the same if Enable OEM Unlock is available. But if it isn't available, the only alternative I can offer, is one that requires the device in-hand. It's nothing to do with ransom. I'd much prefer there were easier rooting methods available. My full-time job is reverse-engineering and exploiting Huawei devices, so it would make my job much easier.

Many moons ago, "JTAG'ing" a Microsoft Xbox 360 console required a but of heavy lifting...and by that, I mean a lot of specialized effort and knowledge to carry about a successful JTAG, see what I mean:
https://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-JTAG-your-Xbox-360-and-run-homebrew/
So - with that in mind - are you literally pulling the Mate 20 Pro phone apart with special tools and connecting wires to it running specialized patent-pending software/s? I obviously need to ask as you have failed several times to mention WHY you need the "phone in hand" to root?!
Otherwise, if you're insinuating that it takes a lot of manual rebooting, flashing and lots of complicated software steps - well, that's why there's things called instruction guides....and people like me around offering to put one together so I/we can SHARE and help others in my position (who would want a rooted global version of this). So I will once again state, unless you can elaborate otherwise, it is in fact a ransom...imagine how much Chainfire, all those years ago, could've charged Samsung users for his (albeit, simpler) root method across the range and years of phone and tab models?

Just to add to this I'm willing, within reason, to help out in any way possible to achieve Magisk root for the global version. There is currently a pledged amount of around £170 and hell, even if some of those didn;t pay out I'd be willing to put more in....
If we can assist in anyway let us know....

If it was something like this, I would be offering it as a do-at-yourself service, with a tool. I can't offer it like that, I need the phone in-hand to do it, as I said.
I guess one could then ask the question: What if someone in relation to Huawei pays you for a phone (global) pre-rooted. Then, they investigate how or where the exploit was made - and eventually patch it anyway? It may take longer, but we'd end up in the same position as before if Huawei wanted to control root on their global models...and, given your work/livelihood, you would know better than most: If Huawei did NOT want this to happen, they certainly wouldn't make the CN version as simple and easy to root as you claim in this thread...and they'd have something in the pipeline, if not available now ready to patch the exploit...
I still do not see how the CN and Global versions can be so completely and insanely different.
