i have updated to froyo, with kies reg hack.
i have since installed Darky's 8.0 ROM and currently have voodoo.advanced.v666.1 as my Kernel.
ive checked my firmware with *#1234# and this is what i get:
PDA I9000XXJPY
Phone I9000XXJPY
CSC I9000OXAJPX
Build Info: 2010.12
my question is how come my CSC is not JPY? and also, would it be worth flashing a JPY CSC with Odin? [could i get this CSC from samsungfirmwares? isnot any ideas where?]
thanks Matt
don't worry that is normal

Hi guys.
galaxy s fascinated
PDA:JP5 PHONE:JPP CSC:JP3 (EUR)
I've a problem. when i updated to froyo from eclair i've used "kies registry patcher" and i've changed csc to jp3 (eur), i suppose, i not remember exactly what i've done..
Now, when i try to update to 2.2.1 , no update is available for my galaxy.
What can i do?
thanks everyone
Ale.
You changed product code ??
Changed CSC
Kies does not know what your phone is .
Its not got the details that match the firmware for that brand of phone .
Kies only reads phone product hardware and firmware id .
Looking for a match to its database none found .
OR for the product code etc you are showing Kies there is no update .

Try SpoofFw on market. I released it today and it will let you change the info that kies reads now when registry patcher don't work.
Let me know if it works out for you.

Kinda the same you did before?
Download Kies registry patcher for Kies 2.0 and spoof what you want in Kies 2.0 and check for an update?
Btw before you do that , read all the "warning, important" and backup efs and etc you know the drill

If you want to change your Product Code you can use this code *#272*imei#* but this will wipe all your data
Install new firmware via clock work mod. forget about that keis junk.

Hello,
To begin with I read the "Samsung letter codes to check firmware compatibility" and still need to ask this question in order not to do anything wrong.
My phone is a Galaxy S GT-I9000 (PDA : JPF - Phone : JPD - CSC : JPF (mid)
) it's on froyo 2.2 and I got fed up with this lagy/hangy version .
Could you please advise what is the best version of Gingerbread compatible with my phone ?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hello all,
I have tried to search regarding this issue but did not get any real clear answer to have to solve the problem.
When I check for new firmware for my Galaxy tab 8.9 (GT-P7300) in Kies it says: your device does not support software upgrading via kies
I have had different firmwares in my tab latest ICS_CM9, but I tried to restore original firmware with Clockwork_Recovery_5.5.0.4
But somehow my backup does not seam to be approved by Kies.
When my tab was brand new I wrote down the info from About and this is the data:
Model Number: GT-P7300
Android Version : 3.1
Baseband Version : P7300XXKHC
Kernel version : 2.6.36.3 [email protected]#1 SHP PREEMPT fri Sep 2 16:00:16 KST 2011
Build number : HMJ37 P7300XWKI1
Also could someone from that data say what country model this Tab is supposed to be, I live in Finland (and its bought here) but I don´t get it to add up ...
Any ideas how to get kies to approve my firmware? Soon ICS will be released by Samsung and I like to test the official version. And to do that I probably need to have kies up and running.
This as I like to do it official way , and not true Odin ...
You need to reflash stock firmware, and remove root if you are rooted. Then kies will work.

I now tried to reflash stock firmware to something i thing was same version as I had from the beginning (http://hotfile.com/dl/145798475/58cc500/P7300XWKI1.zip.html).
I also removed root rights and put back stock recovery, but now kies don't even see what software version i have on my Tab. current software version is blank.
Any more ideas ?
Install app name check fus, it tell you tab product code.
Download lastest stock rom from sammobile.com by select the match version of rom with your product.
Samsung Kies will upgrade only if you have right version of match firmware and product code.
cheers

Any ides for download place ?
Firstly, Odin is the official way. Samsung service centers use Odin to flash firmware on devices. If official ICS will be released, I'm sure we will get a Odin flashable .tar long before the update will show up in Kies for your Nordic tab. So i don't see the point in worrying about Kies, infact i have never used Kies to update any of my Samsung devices. I just don't trust this crappy software.
If you still want to locate your stock rom then send me a PM, i believe i can help you.

u can download the latest Pakistan rom from sammobile and update it using pc odin.
upgrade not supported
Even if I flashed the official 4.0.4 firmware ORS version - N7000XXLRI_N7000OXXLP8_N7000XXLRB_HOME, I'm unable to upgrade firmware via Kies. The Kies writes the upgrade is not supported, actual version: PDA:LRI, Phone:LRB, CSC LP8 (KOR).
I need to send the device to service, how can I make the phone compatibile with kies again?
#272*.... returns connection problem or invalid MMI
Thank you
i dont think they will care if its connecting to kies or not... if on an official firmware and no counter, they will be more than happy
why are you sending it in?
you made efs backup before flashing any rom?
The rom you flashed same csc as original on phone?
You are not rooted?
You have all components of same rom version?
Rom on it is it a stock rom?

1 no efs backup (as the custom rom was already there and this is no my phone)
2 originaly it was (guess) XEZ, now is ORS
3 I have now stock 4.0.4 ORS, not rooted
4 have kernel, modem and fw of the same version
5 yes, pure stock rom 4.0.4
Problem solved. ..change csc to DBT. .now everything is working flawlessly.. Running ics 4.0.4

I bought a N7000 from France and brought it To Samsung in Singapore to upgrade my OS from GingerBread to Ice Cream Sandwich.
Now KIES cannot detect my device...
Whats wrong ??
Please advice.
when you say kies cannot detect the device, does that mean no phone shown on kies or, it says that the firmware upgrade not supported by kies

The CSC which made Kies working was ORS (probably because I have now installed ORS version of stock rom?). Just for some reason #272xx code didn't work until I have entered the above mentioned code, *#*#43xxxxx. Only after that I was able to change the CSC and it finaly works. Many thanks to all of you.
