Hey I am using a rooted CDMA Hero. I rooted my hero in mid to late june last year and I don't know how to make boot animations or splash screens. I was wondering if someone can link me to a link that can tell me how, link me to a online boot creator if available, or answer my question in this thread. I have GIMP if I need plugins. I'm sorry if this has already been asked before.

It kinda does
But anyway, to the OP, a bootanimation is essentially a group of sequential .png images in a .zip file. If you haven't already, download one, open it up and take a look at what is in there. That will give you an idea of what you need to do. Then search XDA for a "how to".

Flash 10.2 was released today for froyo, Ginger bread, and honeycomb devices. Since I'm running CM7, will flash work? I'm almost positive it won't? Thanks!
Sent from my HERO200 using Tapatalk
Haven't you already asked this before? Flash Lite may work on sense roms, but 10.1 was compiled for arm7 processors, not arm6 like the Hero has, so I doubt 10.2 will, either.

So ive been doing some studying and i hear that if you download a 3rd party mms.apk and delte the stock itll be ok, but then i hear you shouldnt delete it..
so i just wanna hear from you guys by your experience whats true. thanks =]
The only way that Android knows how to handle incoming SMS/MMS messages is to reference the messaging.apk, so, keep it.
yea thats what i heard, then again i heard the opposite.
im mainly thinking just of internal memory space, why have two of the same thing kinda thing
Well, MMS.apk is in /system, so you won't see any freed up space anyway.
Nand and delete it. Once you see that it is needed, restore your nand.

s0be's kernel has come a long way. It's close to being feature-complete, but you won't see the huge speedup potential it really has to offer until he deems it stable enough to strip out all of the debug symbols.
The best kernel is the newest one available over on the GSM hero forum. Good luck! Keep on yer toes!

Well what do you expect. For god's sake use the xda search feature and type in "how to port a rom" - I just did that and there's a BUNCH of links. Help yourself. If you find a ROM you want to port, PM some devs and see if they'll help you. Put out a bounty. But asking questions before searching is sorta useless. I hope you port something AWESOME. Let us know.
