Looks like the HD7 is such a popular and desired phone that AT&T now wants it.

Oh... that would be sooo nice. I love my HTC HD7 (T-Mobile branded) but I'm on FIDO and can't get 3G speed with T-Mobile version. AT&T in the USA and Rogers/FIDO in Canada have same 3G bands so this would be great. Even more reason to sell my HTC HD7. Any takers in Toronto wanting to use phone on Wind Mobile or Mobilecity ? PM me

Is it possible to get a T-mobile N1 to support the 3G Bands 850/1900 that the bell network supports? I know it is possible to flash different radios with android phones. I am still a fairly new user to android but i'am trying to learn and u can't learn with out asking questions
Thanks,
Ryan
You won't get 3G. You need the AT&T version for Telus/Bell/Rogers. You could try Wind or Mobilicity.
well that sucks, neither of those are in Nova Scotia where i am located
You could always try to look for someone to trade with, AT&T for Tmobile Nexus.
But it would probably be hard to do in person if there is no demand for it in Nova Scotia.
I don't know how safe it would be to trade by mail.
Any plans that Wind or Mobilicity will come to Nova Scotia? Just curious.
You could get it to work on Rogers GSM network but you won't get 3G, I could be wrong but I don't think Bell or Telus have GSM networks so you're out of luck there.
Oh yeah, there is that little snafu too. Even worse.
It will work on Rogers but you won't get 3G speeds.
It won't work at all on Bell/Telus.

So are you saying his Tmobile won't work on Bell/Telus at all?
But an AT&T will work fine on Telus, with 3G as well?
I am considering buying a nexus one for when I switch to telus next month.
Yes, the T-Mobile version will only work on Rogers/Fido with 2G only.
It will not work on Bell/Telus at all, ever.
It will only work on 3G on Wind Mobile and Mobilicity.
If you want full Rogers/Telus/Bell support, you need the AT&T version.

If you're a Canadian and you want a "Nexus One-like" experience on Bell/Telus/Rogers, and you're having trouble finding one with the right 3G bands...
Get an HTC Desire from Telus. Problem solved. If you don't like Sense UI you can flash it with all sorts of ROMs that will make it feel more like an N1, or you can put MIUI on it, or Cyanogen, etc...
Or according to mobile syrup(can't link) the nexus S will be on the big 3 in march
According to PocketNow.com, the Bell Canada HD7 will work on both AT&T UMTS/HSPA bands (850 and 1900).
They claim it is available from Negri Electronics for about $700.
If true, this could be better than Telstra HD7 which only works on one AT&T UMTS band.

Comments?
Thats correct. You can buy it in any Bell store here in Canada for $599 + tax or find one on craigslist BNIB for $450 - $550. I just bought mine yesterday and am using it on Rogers wireless 3G (which is 850/1900 like AT&T).
thinking about getting a wp7 device. Anyone running the Bell Canada HD7 on AT&T? Its between this device (if it does indeed work) and the Samsung Focus. Need to find a new one for $500 shipped if possible.
Dell Streak powered by Streakdroid 1.8.0
Man I got rid of my HD2 for a samsung and would love to go back to that form factor regardless of the screen brightness. Anyone interested in a trade for their Bell HD7 for a At&t Samsung Focus? Great device just miss my HD2.
I am using Bell's HD7 with a South American carrier!!! )) 850 3G
Does the bell version still have netflix in the marketplace?
Sent from my Liquid Metal using XDA Premium App
Yes, Netflix is in the marketplace.
I have an unlocked 02 HD7 which I brought with me before emigrating from the UK.
I am currently using it on Rogers, however I am thinking of upping sticks and moving to windmobile which is AWS. I know that the HD7 was sold be TMO US so it is AWS compatible but was this a different hardware to the O2 version or is there a way to get it to work on AWS (radio rom flash etc.)
Thanks
Tim
Shameless bump, anyone know the answer. Or alternatively know if you can use a Euro HD7 on TMo US?
Tim
From what i know about O2 is that they don't use the same frequencies as such changing the radio version won't do any good as the physical antenna design wont work with the AWS frequencies. your best bet would be to sell the HD7 and buy a new one a Tmo version. I bought mine about a week ago for $425CAD in Toronto and am now using it on Wind.
They're different hardware. The Bell HD7 doesn't work on WIND for the same reason.
Thanks for you help, hoped it wasn't the answer but guess I will sell up and move on.
Tim
Just picked up an HD7 for real cheap wanted to play around with it however I have ATT I got the phone unlocked and receiving data but I am only at edge speeds any way to get the 3g to work thanks in advance!
It sounds to me like the unlocked phone you got was a T-Mobile model. T-Mobile and AT&T use different frequencies for 3G so it simply isn't possible to use a phone from one on the other and still get 3G service. Yeah, it works both ways, you can't get 3G on an unlocked iPhone with T-Mobile, for example.
Depends on the phone. Unlocked Vibrant works on ATT 3g

If your phone was from TMo-US, you'll only get EDGE, as Tmo uses 900/2100. ATT uses 850/1900. You need a Telstra/Bell unlocked HD7.
Look at your "About" screen. T9295 is what you should see. T9292 is TMo-US.
Hi all,
I also got T9295 from AT&T,
I'm in France but I can't run 3G, only edge.
Any Idea?
Is it a Hardware limitation or just software?
thanks in advance for your help.

it's a hardware limitation, no way on earth you can run 3G on your AT&T HD7S, unless if you have an operator that uses the same frequencies as ATT
Thanks for your fas reply.
much appreciated!!

Yeah, but the ATT HD7S has some HW limitations, and it only support 1900MHz

The purpose of this post is to inform those seeking to use the HTC One on AT&T should NOT use the T-Mobile version of the HTC one on the AT&T network due to poor reception issues. Issues may arise from the enabled 42mb hspa+ and/or the inclusion of the 1700 band. Or maybe its just the T-Mobile radio.
I was originally on T-Mobile with a T-Mobile HTC One in Atlanta, Georgia. T-Mobile's coverage wasn't working out for me in buildings so I SIM unlocked the phone and took it over to AT&T. Everything works but AT&Ts coverage was always changing from 1 bar of LTE to barely any bars of hpsa+. I got a AT&T branded HTC One and inserted my SIM and got 2-3 bars of LTE when I was getting either none or one bar of LTE service. I am also getting about 90% more LTE coverage than I previously had with the T-Mobile HTC One on AT&T's network.
I took back the AT&T HTC One as I could not afford to pay full price for the phone at this time. I am still using the T-Mobile HTC One on AT&T and will buy one when they get cheaper.
On a side not my wife has a T-Mobile IPhone 5 and got it unlocked and switch over to AT&T with me and is getting comparable LTE coverage as the AT&T HTC One version. It sucks cause she will have 3 bars of LTE service and I will have 1 bar of hspa+. I wish there was a fix for this rather than having to go through selling the old one and getting a new one. I love my HTC One .
