Hi,
I'm using Samsung Galaxy S, i recently upgraded to Android 2.2. After the up-gradation I'm unable to configure my exchange email account. the system says "unable to open connection to server" even though my user id and password is correct. Kindly provide solution to rectify this.
Thanks
Dominic Rajan

Hi, id appreciate any help. JUST UNBOXED MY htc hd7, and tried to set up my outlook account, which is based on ms exchange server. I have it running without any issue on iphone, and i just copied the setting of the iphone. However, i keep getting a certificate error for my server. I have remote acess to the server via citrix, and i tried to copy a few certs using mmc, and mailed them via a gmail account. They installed correctly, but it didnt work. Can anyone help?
I use the default email application on my Nexus One.
It worked fine on 2.2, I forced the OTA GB update to my N1 yesterday, and ever since then, my yahoo email address will not sign in anymore. It states that there is a "connection error" and no email can be sent or received. Anyone else have this issue or ideas on how to fix it. I had to install the yahoo mail app to get my mail, and it sucks.
Thanks
Rob

Remove the email account, stop email App, clear data, re-add again Yahoo account. Similar thing for Hotmail with ActiveSync.
That what I did.

Don't sign in manually, after you put n your e-mail address and password just hit done, don't go to manual set up. I had the same problem.

The settings have completely changed.
I setup a new account with the same login info and noticed the following changes to settings
android.imap.mail.yahoo.com is the new for gingerbread incoming server
993 port and SSL
android.smtp.mail.yahoo.com is the new for gingerbread outgoing server
465 port and SSL
Hope this helps someone.
I'm trying to set up exchange email on LG Optimus 2x, the phone has Android 2.2.2.
I'm getting the error "Account Verification Failed" I've gone through all the settings, and tested the account I'm trying to set up to verify it works ok.
What I need to know if anyone can help me with this, what is this error telling me, is it a password problem, SSL certificate or something else.
It seems to be connecting to the server ok, and it's not like this is the first android connecting to this exchange server so I believe I've covered all my bases.
I've spend a bit of time working on this problem so any help and suggestions are much appreciated.

From the error message it seems like its a password failure.
If it is a security issue, you might want to try pushing Email.apk w/o security or try out Enhanced Email from Marked.
Hi,
i had the same problem, ended up installing email.apk and been receiving email happily ever after!

Been using shaftys Email.apk for some time, but as he developed Enhanced Email and put all the updating in this I figured i would support him in his work and bought the APP. Can recommend the paid app!
Is anyone else here on 2.3.6 with their Note (Rooted and CWM Kernel also) having problems with Exchange email?
I use a hosted exchange provider for my email, and have seen this issue before with Samsung (and some HTC) devices where Exchange Activesync just doesn't seem to work. I had this issue before with an AT&T Galaxy Tab I had tried a different ROM on to enable the phone radio in the Tab. It would never sync email, but the stock ROM would.
I know the account was added to the Note correctly, because I didn't get any error messages during setup, and I also got the prompt to confirm the security configuration change (to allow remote wipe, etc). The device also shows up correctly in the mobile device listing in Outlook Web Access in my account.
Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this, and what you did to fix it? Not really interested in a 3rd-party mail client like Touchdown, etc. Would prefer to use native apps.
Thanks, please advise.

If you want it for gmail, try this.
Go to Email - entre gmail credential - select manual setup - select exchange active sync - keep user ID n PW as it is n add m.google.com in server field, finish setup with rest of as per your desire
Thanks, but I am not interested in Gmail. I have already added a secondary gmail account and it works just fine.
I am trying to get a true Exchange (Corporate, of sorts) email account working. It kinda acts like it wants to work (I am seeing some Exchange calendar entries) but no emails or contacts yet... <sigh>

Mine is working fine. It sync my email with the exchange server. Im using Rocket ROM.
Using exchange exclusively also (hosted server) never had a problem. I tried with stock, then 2 different cooked roms. All worked perfectly. Am on latest rocky now.
Sent from a biga$$ Galaxy Note using XDA premium
Exchange email pushed OK, but calendar push never
Outlook email is pushed correct, but calendar never. Which application do you use for view/sync exchange calendar ?
Hi,
I would like to setup work mail on my phone, we have exchange 2010 and I'm using the stock mail app for HTC one. I know someone else in the company that also has a HTC one, and they are working fine using the same app. I have copied the settings and the exchange accounts look the same on the server.
ONce I enter the details, it will ask me for a certificate authenication. I accept this and continue to choose which folders I want synced. Mail, Contacts, Calanders etc. Once I've done this and finish the setup, it takes longer than usual to setup and after about 30 seconds replys "Failed to setup account. Please try again later".
This makes no sense as its already got the correct details and I'm connected to wifi.
Does anyone know what this might be? It should work because a colleague has the exact same setup and phone lol.
Any help would be great!
Andy
