NC wireless tether to htc evo? - Nook Color General

This may seem like an obvious question but is there any problem wireless tethering the NC to a rooted htc evo using wireless tethering? I ask because I read that the galaxy tab could have a problem with doing this and I want to make sure I can do what I want to before I but one

I am evo rooted on CM6 nightlies.. wifi connected perfect on my first try...

Sweet! That's what I needed to know thanks

I have an Evo, rooted with unrevoked3, installed wifi hotspot app from Google Code...no issues whatsoever.

[Q] Tether infrastructure mode

Hello All,
I am going to purchase a Wi-Fi Motorola Xoom, and I would like to tether my Droid so it can have internet, however, there is a problem. The Droid Wireless Tether app from the market will only do ad-hoc on the Droid hardware, but Android devices cannon't connect to ad-hoc, so I was wondering if there was a hack to enable wifi infrastructure mode. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
I have a Viewsonic GTablet and had the same problem using wireless tether with it and my Moto Droid. The fix was on the GTablet end so you will probably have to wait till the Xoom tablet is out before a fix/work around is developed.

Like mmracing said you are probably going to have to wait for the xoom to actually come out, or wait for a root for the xoom and the devs to come up with a infrastructure hack that will allow ad-hoc
I would also like to broadcast non-adhoc wireless with my Motorola Droid (Gen 1 - Original). I just picked up the xoom, and cannot see my wireless. Any progress with this?
Guess we're going to have to wait for the bionic or thunderbolt to be able to tether?

[Q] (Q) how to make wifi better

Ok I tried the motorola Atrix the other day. And I saw that it comes with a better wifi app or signal receiver. I would like to know if some one knows how to make our wifi better or flash custom the atrix wifi app, to see it works better. I have a VIZIO router at home the Inspire just reads the VIZIO signal which runs at 2.5ghz And there is a option to run VIZIO HD which runs up to 5.0+ ghz. But the only device that ever read it was the Moto Atrix, sadly it isn't mine. Although I like the Inspire mutch better. If any one knows I would appreciate some suggestions. I'm doing my own research if anyone interested.

What Charge death/wifi issues?

Hi
I see a lot of references to the charge death and wifi connectivity issues. Could someone directive what exactly is happening? I installed cm 9 .6 exactly add directed by team cm. I have not noticed either of the problems people seem to be discussing. Lucky I guess but I'd like to know none the less.
Cheers

I have personally had a lot of problems connecting with DUAL BAND routers (5Ghz and 2.4GHz). I have a Cisco e3000 and CM7 & CM9 both seem to be not so happy. I just set my Touchpads to use a different single band access point I have and they seem to work MUCH better.
router issues
I was using a belkin dualband n600 router and had no issues whatsoever after upgrading my broadband my ISP supplied me with a virgin super hub (netgear) and had nothing but problems no matter what I did, changing channels did nothing so disabled the router function and reinstalled the belkin one, my touchpad running classicnerd connects every time on the 5ghz mode, oh and my wife's touchpad had the same issues.

usb-otg + 3g dongle possible?

So i am very much enjoying the N7 but somewhat missing the 3g on my old galaxy tab. Sure I can tether to a phone but i was wondering, is there any chance that plugging a 3g dongle into usb-otg cable will work on the n7?
Thx
I doubt it. I don't think there are drivers for the device to talk to an external 3g modem.
Look here.

I'm planning on using mine by either tethering my phone or one of those little portable wifi/3g sharing things "pocketwifi"

Nfc HTC one m7

Does nfc work on the HTC one m7 ? I'm running viperrom 6.2.1 with the elemental x custom kernal . I'm trying to switch it on now but it's not turning on so I'm not sure if the m7 itself has the feature for it or not

I would say no. Many different roms and nada. My wife and daughters are always transferring pics and video that way on their galaxy phones. Mine had never worked once. Feels like a waste for a great phone...
NFC works fine for me.
I'm running Sense 6 on my HTC One.

You can't transfer files from the galaxy to your phone without turning off the s-beam on the galaxy. The way Samsung made it was to make the NFC activate wifi direct and connect the two phones and transfer the file via wifi direct, I think they patented it or something because google decided to go with the Bluetooth way instead of wifi direct. Since the two methods use different methods of sending files they conflict with each other resulting in nothing happening. What I use to transfer files with NFC is super beam. It uses the same idea of s-beam so it utilizes wifi direct so it's a lot faster than Bluetooth

Aha... Knew there was another reason to dislike Samsung. But thanks for the info.
