Hello all,
I have strange problems while charging (wall charging only) my NOOKcolor: the touch screen is not responsive (either at all or very sluggish). On home screen I could launch programs, but not rearrange (drag), have to type very slow in order to get input, on lock screen cannot even unlock
If disconnecting the charger (from wall or cable from nook) it starts to work perfect.
My NOOKcolor is fully rooted, but the problem remains after un-root/factory rest.
Anyone else seen this behavior?
Any solution/suggestion?
Thanks,
Darky
Your problem is not unique and has been noted by many others. No fix was discussed yet though.
Mine doesn't do it. I saw on google it's one of the possible problems with a new unit. You might want to reflash to stock and exchange it.
I've noticed mine does it while playing Pocket Legends. If I have it on the charger, it will automatically tap-click on the screen when I'm using the joystick, so it starts to open all sorts of menus. So I pretty much can't play the game when charging.

When I use GPS navigation, after a while the screen becomes unresponsive, and the unit itself gets really hot. This happens both with the car dock and without, without car dock it just takes more time.
I contacted HTC's support and they arranged a phone swap. I'm wondering if I'm going to get in trouble with this, since my phone is rooted. I would like to understand if this is a real problem, or something due to the rooting process.
Anybody experiencing the same problem?
I have experienced the same thing with my phone when using GPS for awhile. To solve the unresponsiveness I just press the power button and press it again to unlock my phone and the screen starts to respond again.

I dont think it should be a problem with HTC if it is a genuine hardware problem and your phone wasnt treated poorly (dropped)
Hello
One night I was using the phone without doing anything special , some video watching . Phone went dark, tried to reboot. Blank Screen and the capacitive buttons flash. Left it to charge all night, in the morning it started but after I pressed the lock button blank screen but phone still working and receiving input.
Took the battery and SD card out left it for 30 seconds then started it again, Stuck at LG logo. Repeat , phone started ... Pressed lock button once then again to unlock , screen wouldn't start.
Used LG Mobile Update recovery tool to restore it ... Didn't solve problem. Sometimes it does not even start , just flashes buttons, other times it does without screen and last all works even the screen until first time goes dark , in the last two cases I can use LG On-Screen Phone without trouble, in doing so I installed a proximity sensor test app to see if it was causing my screen to not come back on , the sensor looked fine.
Facts:
1. Two day old Optimus Black p970, worked like a charm until stated problem
2. The app that checked proximity sensor showed the sensor to be free when my hand wasn't on it
3. The warranty laws in my country are idiotic so I would do or buy anything rather than send it so they can give me a new one in 3 months.
4. Tried another battery from another Optimus, fully charged nothing different.
5. Stock rom.
Do any of you fine people have some ideas on how to fix this? Thanks in advance
Hi there...
Sometime ago [1 year and a half or so~] I worked at a cell refurbishing facility [there were samsung, motorola and palm devices from sprint] and that problem you have was quite usual. Blank screen, still the phone is somehow usable like reciving calls...
There's this thing called "flex" which is the connector between board and display and that is what we fix, most of the time not even "fix it" just getting it in the right place...
This happen because of excesive use in those sliding or clamshell devices, in OB could be for overheating, you could try to fix it yourself or pay $20 usd [that's what it cost here]
Would that connector explain the fact that sometimes it doesn't start at all? hmm I am thinking now and I guess if it moves and somehow the phone feels it has not display connected it could fail to start... Anyhow thank you
actually yes, it could be only for the flex [some devices don't start at all when not having display or keyboard if there's any] but since our OB is not sliding nor clamshell type probably was overheating.
you say you have stock rom, well now I'm using CM7 but when I was at stock and after using the phone a few minutes it felt warm and some more minutes [like playing gunbros where you need to use both hands and a lot of movement] it was really hot and had to stop playing for a while.
what I'm trying to say is that because of overheating flex could have moved, but because of overheating too may have move something else, you couldn't belive the huge number of micro-things that reside in the board.
so if it's only the flex, it's an easy task to do, just unplug and plug again, but if it's something else it's quite hard to know just looking at it, you need to do some electric measures and stuff, the recomendation is to take it to a tech center or something

Hi there, got the same problem too with my optimus black. Screen goes flickering, shut down don't do any good, and the phone temperature is kinda hot. But in my case it work after I clean some cache and data in the phone storage through LG OSP. After that, the phone temperature back to normal and the phone screen back to normal also. I believe that in my case the phone is overheated.
hi today my htc one's screen stopped responding. i noticed after i plugged it in to charge and off a couple of times, now the screen is unresponsive. i cant swipe to unlock the phone or anything. if i wait a while and leave it to charge, it will work a little. hardware buttons work fine it's just the screen itself. anyone know a fix or the reason behind this? thanks.
Your explanation isn't very clear as to when the screen doesn't work.
I've heard issues with dodgy chargers preventing touch screen from working whilst plugged in.
If the touch screen doesn't work when no cables are plugged in, it's probably just broken.
There's a service menu you can get to with a touch screen test, I can't remember how to get there, but it also has a battery test if that makes it easier to search for. If that test fails when no cables are plugged in, it's time to get it repaired.
Hi guys, so I think I've identified what might be causing this issue but I want to see if this is specific to my device or Samsung in general.
When I'm using Google Maps in landscape orientation and charging wirelessly, the hardware buttons would have random phantom presses which causes it to leave navigation or open recent apps. I have a tempered glass protector and I thought that might be the issue but it's not. I've used two wireless chargers (one desktop and one in the car) to see if it's the charger but even with the desktop charger, I still see the bug.
Can someone test this out? Use any wireless charger and Google Maps in navigation landscape mode and see if it bugs out. It'll take a min or two to have the phantom press.

I just tested this and did not experience the issue. Here is my setup...
Verizon Note 5
Samsung Clear View Case
No Screen Protector
Tylt Desktop Wireless Charger
I am not sure how quickly or frequently you see the issue. I watched my phone for 6 minutes and nothing happened.
Please help
Charging:
Sometimes works fine, some other times it works for short period of time then the battery icon keeps blinking and I have to remove the cable and plug it again to get it back to work
Touch screen: the Touch is very weird and annoying, very laggy especially when I am typing or using two fingers in the same time.
anyone had these issues and managed to fix it?
the 2nd issue is a known fault some say is with the panel itself, using standard typing is the only solution right now and possibly ever.
thank you , hopefully there will be an update to fix this mess soon
