[BETA] JK6 power menu options test - Vibrant Android Development

Thank you for your testing, this file has been removed, updated, and released in the themes and apps section.

Will it work on a non-deodexed jk6? Or is deodexing a must. Will flash as soon as I know...then reply.

it has to be deodexed, sorry. don't know how to mod a non deodexed rom.

Alright....will pop on a de-odexed rom and check it out.
Had issues w/ blackhole (noted in that thread), but love where this is going!
Flashing new rom now...will report asap!

Having "E:Missing bitmap indeterminate" issue and cannot mount cmr.
*sigh* will try again in a bit. Anyone else checking this out?

I have a working JK6 reboot menu, i posted a flashable here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=874310
I havet tested it on any roms besides my own, but it should work just fine (on my way to work so cant test)

[REQ] Blue Minimalism v1.3 Theme

[REQ] I was wondering if anyone would be able to port over Blue Minimalism v1.3 for the fascinate it is currently working the Epic over a deodexed rom. I have tried to install this theme file on my fascinate the way it is and I just get never ending boot loops....
Since I'm a noob on this forum I can't place links yet to show you what I'm talking about so if you just go to the search field and type " Epic [THEME] Blue Minimalism v1.3
there is the following files that would be great get ported over
Blue Minimalism v1.3.zip [theme]
Blue Minimalism v1.3.1 lockscreen mod.zip
Blue Mini Dialer v1.0
I would be willing to be a tester for anyone willing to work this port for us fascinate users
Thanks!
I could see about doing this for you but not having one I would need a tester. Let me see about a de-odexed rom to use as a base and it should be no problem. If anyone that has a Fascinate wants to do it thats cool too because they can actually test it themselves which speeds the process up.

Nice, I'm at work so if nobody has taken the project up by the time I get home I'll check that out. I'm guessing the mods I made should be the same but I will still need a tester to be sure.

Hey Raiderep,
Your theme is so sweet, That would be so killer if you would rework the frameworkd and system files etc what ever needs to be done for this theme to work on the fascinate.
As I stated in my request I'm more then willing to work with you and be the tester of it. I'm some what a noob with this stuff and everything. However I'm comfortable with root, CWR I have mulitple backups stored to go back to as well. I have tried this theme that way you worked it for the Epic and ended up in never ending boot loops. Just pulled battery went into CWR and restored a back-up. Not really sure the extent of testing that maybe your looking for but I sure I can do it.
I'm currently running a de-binged google experience deodexed rom that is called Super Clean Rom the dev behind this is jt1134 and it is smooth and fast no fc's anymore and is fully deodexed. Not sure how to PM since I'm a noob on this forum I'm not allowed to do much, and even tried to PM and it wouldn't let me. Anyway I'm ready to work this when ever you are.
Thanks,

This is the latest release right? Just want to be sure. If its flashable as is then I might only have to change the update script. Does this flash in clockwork?

I will need a tester for sure as I only have an epic. As long as you have a clockwork back-up, which it sounds like you do, then you should be fine. There is always risk doing this kind of thing so the usual applies, I'm not responsible yada yada...the worst you might have to do is flash with odin if you guys have that ability.
I got the DI01_Deodex_CW from frostman89 to use as a base so I am hoping this will work over any deo-odexed system on the same os release. I'll get some done tonight and need a tester. Stay tuned

Sounds good, Yes I understand all the yada yada.... Bla Bla disclaimers So I will be up for a few more hours. Let me know what I need to do first... I will start with Flashing back to Frostman89 deodexed rom. At that point not sure how you want to send me the flashfiles to start testing since I'm a noob not sure if you can PM me or what?? Let me know, and I will get going on this as soon as your ready Thanks again for your help getting this over to us fascinate users.
>> I have got to get my User name changed on this forum... lol
Well I have the dialer and settings done but its weird not testing myself. Let me do the two frameworks and have you test that before doing the battery mod. I can just post a media fire link here and remove it later. Give me another half hour or so.

Can I remove out the bing stuff and load up the google experience apps real quick or wait on it?

Thats shouldn't be a problem. I am having second thoughts on this whole thing but I'll give you what I got so far. I really don't feel comfortable theming a phone I don't have for testing on. There are differences I wasn't expecting in some of the image types and without something to test with I don't even want to mess with them. Sorry if I jumped the gun on this but I'm sure someone else with a fascinate will carry on. brb with a link
Ok I have very little confidence this will even work as I don't know how the update scripts work on fascinate and had to guess. I doubt it will even flash but I suppose its worth a try since I put in some time and recovery most likely will reject it
Hope your back-up is handy if it does flash and makes your phone look funny...good luck

If you want to PM me with the link of what you have so far that would be cool if not that's cool too!
Thanks again for you willingness to jump in and at least take a stab at it.

This is just a re-posting in case others want to try this out. It needs to be flashed over a de-odexed system or rom and preferably Frostman89's deodexed rom as that is the only one its been tested on by DroidX007. Might do more tonight but no promises and anything new will be subject to testing by any willing folks with a fascinate, I know DroidX007 will if he's around
http://www.mediafire.com/file/pcm2pf291vowo4x/Fascinate Blue Mini Beta.zip
As usual the risk is yours and I am not responsible for ill effects to your phone YMMV
edit: I think DroidX007 flashed it in clockwork recovery but I'm not familiar with how you guys are doing it with the fascinate. Hopefully he will chime in and tell us just to be certain.

Yes... clockwork recovery is what I've been doing with this theme as its a flashable file like many others that we have been using as in frostman89 remix nextheme and others.
First off Many thanks to the hard working dynamo Raiderep that was kind enough to work his epic theme for us fascinate users.
** Now on to my finding testing this partial Blue Minimalism
- Clockwork flashable file ( flash zip file only over the following Deodexed ROms that I have tested)
*** Did Nandroid back-up of each of these deodex Rom's listed below with this theme flashed over the top and then after reboot went back into recovery for each back-up and restored them to make sure they would still boot up and work ( Test successfull!!)
- Frostman's DI01 deodexed Rom ( tested and works!)
- Jt1134's Super Clean DI01 + AOSP apps (tested and works, no FC's)
Jt's Rom is clean of Bing and enhanced with Google along with adw launcher as second choice to the Sam touchwiz launcher ( tested and works, no FC's)
** I have added back in the puzzle lock.zip replacing the stock andorid 2.1 lock screen that Jt added in to his Rom by default. Shown in screen shot
If for some reason you have boot loops or fc's trying going back into CWR and wiping data and cache and reboot... I didn't run into this, but just be aware that you may need to.
Also As with everything we are not responsible for any thing that may happen to your phone installing this theme... Just a basic disclaimer as you all would expect
Please provide feedback as you try this theme and remember its a partial theme in more of beta form for now, and this will help as Raiderep will hopefully continuing to work thru the next phases of this killer looking theme!!
I have attached another couple screen shots using Jt's ROM with Adw launcher shown.
Cheers!

Nice, glad it worked. Nothing liked theming in the dark, thanx for testing this DroidX007.
Here's the link for the battery mod update for further testing by others if they want: http://www.mediafire.com/file/6yei3sc2ypzuc74/Fascinate Blue Mini Beta - Battery mod test.zip
I think I'll start an official thread for this if a few more can confirm its working just to be safe...
No Prob... I can only imagine what it must be like to theme in the dark.. lol
I agree an official thread is a good idea especially it may even drive that many more users to look at since this thread has been named [REQ]... I think you would even get a quicker response for more user as well by starting an official thread. Anyway just a thought
Cheers

[ROM] GothicKangedFroyo Based somewhat on JK2 *11/10/10*

Here it is again. The one and only GothicKangedFroyo ROM! I have implemented a couple changes from the first version of the ROM. The basics are the same, but the framework is different. The framework mods that I did are only the start of them, the more I learn about how to edit the framework the more changes I will do. I warn you I am teaching myself how to modify the framework, but don't worry the only things I will post here are going to be ones that I know will boot up when flashed and won't soft-brick your device.
Features
Based on Eugene's MacNut_R10
Supports bootanimation.zip
Working WiFi Calling - Sometimes it hanges when starting so may or may not be fully working
Working GPS
Touchwiz removed expect for Dailer and Contacts
Multitouch Keyboard
HTC_IME Keyboard (themed)
ADW Launcher
Launcher Pro
Launcher2
Custom Framework (semi-complete if anyone would like to help drop me a line)

How to Flash my ROM coming from Voodoo
Actually this is fairly simple, but I will explain it. Create a blank file using a text editor and titled it disable-lagfix, remember you have to have it completely blank nothing in there for this to work.
After you have finished that delete the extension from the file and place it on your internal SD Card in the folder entitled Voodoo.
Reboot Your phone, and you should hear the little voice on boot that explains that voodoo is being disabled.
After Voodoo is disabled flash away.
This ROM does not include the Overclocked Kernel, but you can easily flash it over from Eugene's thread. The purpose of this ROM was to kang different things that I liked from other ROMs so don't hate the fact that somethings are the same as other Froyo ROMs out there.
I will give credit where credit is due though, Eugene for providing an amazing base for Froyo ROM development, Cyanogen just goes without saying, GamerCore for the idea of including the MIUI Browser, and Vazguard for the Fluxed Theme. Anyone that I may of missed I am sorry, but thank you none the less.
Many many props goes out to my beta team,
Vachea, _MichaelAngeles, Ray Walters, and OgreRocks

Mirror for RC2
DISCLAIMER: I ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR BRICKING OF YOUR DEVICE WHEN FLASHING MY ROM! IF YOU HAPPEN TO BRICK YOUR DEVICE WHILE FLASHING MY ROM BECAUSE YOU MAY OF FORGOTTEN TO DISABLE VOODOO LAGFIX DO A SEARCH OF THE FORUMS AND THEN YOU WILL FIND YOUR ANSWER. IF BY CHANCE YOUR NAME IS MICHAEL ANGELES AND THAT IS YOUR THING TO COMPLETELY BRICK VIBRANTS ALL THE TIME, THEN I CAN DO NOTHING FOR YOU EXCEPT SIT BACK AND LAUGH. I MAKE NO IMPLIED OR EXPRESSED WARRANTY ON YOUR DEVICE BASED ON IF YOU FLASH MY ROM. I AM NOT GOD I CANNOT BRING THE DEAD BACK TO LIFE, BUT I MAYBE ABLE TO HELP WITH A DEAD VIBRATOR.

Gothdroid got a few questions for you:
1. in both of eugenes roms and simbionix's roms i see a couple common problems people are having: gps, data, internal or sd card problems; since this is based of eugenes, are you having the same problems? anyother problems?
2. does this wipe internal sd if coming from 2.1?
3. do we flash from clockwork recovery (not odin correct)?
4. anything else we need to know about flashing this or setting it up?

To download from 4shared on your phone switch the web page to classic view and make sure ROM Manager is installed.
If you have problems, open astro. Go 2 pref. is an option 2 check that says allow all downloads in browser, check that. You will then be able to download from 4shared. This looks awesome dl'ng now........ Thnc

In my beta tests of the Rom, I hadn't noticed those types of issues, has been running smoothly for me so far...
I hadn't seen any issues with data loss coming from 2.1, but that seems to happen randomly, so backup just to be safe.
And yes It's a clockwork flash.
I generally, with roms on the vibby, let it sit for about ten min after first boot without touching anything, then reboot before using.
Has run great for me so far.

I really do not know, that us just how it was in the galaxy s i9000 forums, if you want you can try it without that and reply back if it works or not.
Okay, perhaps a stupid question from someone who hasn't used a gingerbread ROM yet. What the heck are the "rainbows" that we're talking about?
Rainbows is when the screen totally ****s up looks like tv noise and some colors inbetween
has anyone tried this yet?

well i flashed it without using the odin and it booted but everything is loop force closing so i cant do anything
edit: just realized that u forgot to wipe the caches
edit 2:couldnt reboot in to recovery so i just odin'd and am now in the process of flashing. will post in a few minutes the results
EDIT 3: following the OP is the best way to flash this rom. it booted perfectly with the rainbows in about 2 minutes. Swype needs to be changed to a version that works for the vibrant. Haptic Doesn't work on Home button either. the volume doesnt seem to be as loud as it should either
EDIT 4: everything seems to be working so far. im going to see how this rom fares with the EDT OC kernels used for Asgard instead of the Lidroid kernel in the morning

EDT can speak for themselves, but I think their intention is to not be posted for download on XDA. To my understanding they don't care what one individual does with their work to be used strictly on someone's own personal phone mixed with other roms or anything else you want to do on your phone.
But they're clear that they don't want their stuff distributed via others on XDA.
Not trying to troll, just trying to make sure people aren't scared to use in general the good work EDT puts out, although a post already mentions that the kernel they tried from EDT had some compatability issues with this rom.
Re: rainbows. I don't recommend being intimidated to flash a rom because it has rainbows. This is what it means, when it boots up instead of some animations you'll get a static screen that doesn't show any of what should currently be showing on the screen. You don't really need to see the screen while booting anyways so that isn't a big deal.
What you do need to understand is that you wont be able to see recovery mode because you'll just see a rainbow until you hard reboot the phone so that it starts up normal. There are two ways to address the lack of recovery - just don't worry about it and use ODIN when you want to leave this rom, or if you need recovery then use a work around. To work around it either flash a different kernel to access recovery or use something like screencast to see your phone's screen on your computer. You'll have to do some reading before you understand how to do these work arounds but at least they're there.

Use baksmali and smali to decompile it and then do what he says.
I use ubuntu for that
I get the android.policy.jar and open it, then i drag classes.dex to the desktop
I go to terminal, cd /home/coldflid/Desktop (cuz it's there were i have classes.dex and baksmali and smali)
then enter ( i use baksmali/smali 1.2.5, but if you use another version, change the name for the one you use)
java -jar baksmali-1.2.5.jar classes.dex -o androidpolicy
Then a folder called androidpolicy will be created with classes.dex decompiled
Modify any files you need to mod and then in the same terminal
java -jar smali-1.2.5.jar androidpolicy
an out.dex will be created, rename it to classes.dex and drag it onto android.policy.jar, overwrite the old classes.dex
Good luck

haha okay. imma remove any mention of them from the post
I've been running the rom for about 16 hours and have experienced no hiccups. It's really fast and stable. Vlingo works great as well as the sgs2 lockscreen.
there are only 3 bugs in the entire rom. GPS of course, no haptic on home, and the CWM Tweaks app doesn't work. there's no percentage battery mod either.
p.s. for those that care the Quadrant score on 3 consecutive runs were 971, 1016, & 1027.
How the hell did I miss this?
Looks great Ali, gonna try it out when I have the time.

Thanks for the review, one question, did you try this without booting jvh with odin first?
@Ali1276; Im going to fix the haptic feedback. Give me a little bit and I will post it up the jar file for ya'll.
Can anyone post the No bootloaders Odin JVH, I was trying to delete the Bullet kernel off that because I did not know I had that on there, and then it messed up big time.
Thanks

init.d support
4 way reboot
removed the null signal icons for 8013

Use CWM
Make a backup first
Wipe your stuff
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
mounts and storage/ format /data
mounts and storage/ format /system
mounts and storage/ format /cache
advanced/ wipe dalvik cache
Repeat a couple times for good measure

Smaw! First off, thanks! But I flashed your rom and I can't obtain root access. Checked SuperSU and it says that the binaries aren't installed. Could you possibly upload a flashable zip patch to get root back? Thanks!
EDIT: Actually, it says the SU binaries are installed but SuperSU cannot install it.

[DISCONTINUED] Lum's debloated, deblurred stock JB ROM with inverted GApps [V1.2.1]

Discontinued. Just use Mentor's ROM instead!
The aim of this ROM is to remove as much annoyance (e.g. blur and bloat) as possible from the stock ROM while making as few changes as possible. By default it is aimed at GSM users, my attempts at adding CDMA back in by a patch did not end well (no data) so I'm just concentrating on GSM now. The CDMA patch is here if anyone wants to have a go at fixing it.
Current Version: V1.2.1
Download links:
>>> MAIN ROM V1.2 <<<
>>> Patch to V1.2.1 <<<
Make sure you flash the patch immediately after the main ROM, before booting!
Changes from stock are:
Removed about 200MB of useless apps
Removed all Verizon apps, including those needed for CDMA to work.
Added the following inverted GApps, replacing the blur equivalents where applicable:
- Email
- Messaging
- Google Talk
- YouTube
- Exchange
- GMail
- Camera
- Gallery
Disabled QE spyware (much faster boot)
Disabled MotoCast CDROM automount when connecting USB cable
Added international APNs
The following blur apps are still present:
Calendar
Contacts
Launcher
The blur versions of the calendar and contact apps aren't really that bad, and are proving problematic to replace. The launcher is easily replaced with any launcher from the Play Store. I left the stock one in place as it works well with webtop.
What's working?
Hopefully everything!
What's not working?
Setup Wizard crashes at the start, but frankly who cares, I will remove it completely in 1.3
CDMA
Sending MMS (doesn't work in stock for me either - use Handcent if you actually use MMS)
This is not a kexec ROM, it will only work if your stock ROM is the new JB OTA. If you are still on ICS or Gingerbread it will not work. Kfazz is working on a flashable update to convert stock-based ROMs into kexec, I will add that update when it is ready.
I have gone with inverted GApps because this phone has a pentile screen, black apps use less battery than white ones. I also personally prefer them.
This is very much something I'm working on for my own use which I have decided to share. I am sure that MyFishBear or Olegfusion will eventually come along with a much better done ROM at some point in the future, if they do then I'd encourage you to use it, but for now this works for me, maybe it will work for you too!
Help needed:
If I install the stock calendar app, instead of the Moto one, it refuses to sync and force closes if you choose select calendars to sync.
Someone in the USA to make a CDMA patch that actually works!
These are not bugs in the current ROM, they are enhancements I'd like to make but don't yet know how. The calendar does work fine in this ROM and it is intended primarily for GSM users.
Install instructions.
All users: Ensure that your stock rom is the JB OTA, then flash from within Safestrap in the usual way, immediately followed by the patch
Note that there is no superuser.apk in this ROM. You can install either SuperUser or SuperSU from the Play Store.
Disclaimer: If this ROM causes your phone to explode I am not responsible.
Changelog:
V1.0: Initial release.
V1.1: Disabled QE, disabled MotoCast CD, Fixed broken phone.apk.
V1.2: Added international APNs, Repackaged as a flashable .zip file.
V1.2.1: Patch to fix broken phone and contacts apps on a fresh install.
Thanks:
MyFishBear - This ROM is based on his deodexed stock ROM.
Olegfusion - For the info on how to remove QE and MotoCast
Hashcode - For Safestrap, of course
Reserved

Replaced the following blur apps with inverted GApps:
- Email
- Messaging
- Google Talk
- YouTube
- Contacts

- GMail
- Camera

Disabled QE
Disabled MotoCast CDROM automount
I have not been able to replace the following blur apps:
Phone - However it works fine and looks deblurred due to having a stock Contacts.apk.
Calendar - Stock one crashes trying to sync with Google.
Launcher - Stock is still the best option if you use webtop, and it's really easy to switch to another launcher anyway.
This is not a kexec ROM, it will only work if your stock ROM is the new JB OTA. If you are still on ICS or Gingerbread it will not work.

Help needed:
If I install the stock calendar app, instead of the Moto one, it refuses to sync and force closes if you choose select calendars to sync.
CDMA users: If someone tells me which apks are required to make CDMA work, I'll bundle them into a separate file as I kept backups of all the stuff I removed.
These are not bugs in the current ROM, they are enhancements I'd like to make but don't yet know how. The calendar does work fine in this ROM and it is intended for GSM users only. Do not attempt to use this ROM if you are on Verizon!
Download link: http://d-h.st/s12
Install instructions.
This ROM is distributed as a safestrap/TWRP backup file rather than a flashable ZIP. To install, extract the ZIP into the TWRP directory on either your internal or external SD card, then from within safestrap create (or delete and re-create) a new ROM slot, then restore this backup into it.
Patches needed after install: I noticed after uploading that I'd screwed up and included the wrong Phone.apk, but do not want to re-upload the whole thing as it takes literally an hour to upload. I also figured out how to get rid of motocast and QE when the upload was nearly done.
Please download and unzip this file to the root of your external SD card and after restoring the back up, but still within Safestrap do the following:
Go to Mount and tick Mount System
Go to Advanced, File Manager and copy the following:
- Phone.apk into /system/app
- init_mapphone_cdma.rc into /system/etc/rootfs
- init_mapphone_umts.rc into /system/etc/rootfs
Exit the file manager
Go to Advanced -> Fix Permissions and run that.
Go to Wipe and wipe cache and dalvik
Sorry about that! I'll upload a new version either tonight or tomorrow.
If you are uncomfortable copying the files from within Safestrap you can also copy them from a terminal inside the ROM itself. Things will start crashing once you replace Phone.apk but a reboot, fix perms and wipe cache/dalvik will sort it.
Standard disclaimer: If this ROM causes your phone to explode I am not responsible.

I'm going to need input from others on that. I have literally no way to test on Verizon.
I'm going to see if I can dig out olegfusion's back to CDMA patch and study it tomorrow. It's hard for me to tell which of the huge amounts of VZW crap I deleted are actually needed for the phone to work.

It's still using the stock launcher, but it's easy enough to install Nova or Apex and set it as default. Just install your preferred launcher from the marketplace.
The reason for keeping the stock launcher is because people who use webtop are best off sticking with the stock one as it's the only one to properly handle the resolution chances.

I'll have a play with it, but I figure that putting in any given launcher, somebody is always going to want a different one so figured I may as well leave it stock since they're so easy for the user to replace anyway.
I'm currently uploading V1.2, now as a flashable ZIP, so those of you who haven't downloaded V1.0 may want to hold off. It'll take me an hour to upload this.
Also testing a flashable ZIP version of the CDMA patch. Will update the OP soon.
