[Q] contacts problem in x1 - XPERIA X1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

in my x1 im not able to see the name who is calling me, even i saved their number in my phone,
but i guess the problem is the number is saved in both phone memory and sim card,
that means when i go to contacts i see the names repeated one with simcard symbol and other contact symbol.
if this is the problem any one tell me how to use one phone memory or sim memory in contacts.

This could indeed be the cause for your problem. Programs like xperia tweak or sk tools allow you to choose whether to show or not to show sim contacts. You should give it a try.

while in contacts go to the menu button and then filter, it will allow you to choose how you want the contacts to be seen either from the device or sim card.

my problem is +e before country code
how to resolve +e before the number .. m using the same sim in MY p1i there is no "E" but when i placed same sim in X1 it shows "E"

Wrong phone number displayed

3 network recently prevented me using my payg sim so I switched to O2 and transferred my old phone number. But the phone still displays the number which came with the O2 sim card. Is this hard wired into the sim card or is there any way I can change it through the registry, or whatever?
Any help appreciated
What do you mean by "The phone still displays the phone number which came with your O2 SIM card" ???
Where does the phone display it? Make a screenshot but xxx out your phone number for privacy reasons!
Isn't the Phone Number set in Settings, "Owner Information"?

Mine does exactly the same, if you go to Sim Manager it displays the original sim number and not my tranfered one. No great shake though, unless you dont know your own number.
But just found that you can change this.. In Sim Manager go to Menu_Tools_List of Own Numbers, then edit voice line 1.. Job done.

That information you can edit yourself. I am not surebut I do believe it is somewhere under SETTINGS -> PHONE ...

Most cool. Did that restarted, after removing sim + battery, and voila it worked. Never noticed 'Sim Manager' before. You would have thought that Settings the more appropriate place for it
Most obliged - I like to be tidy/organised Knew this was the place to ask

G1 Problem

Hey Guys, Need a little help!
Ok, I bought a G1 from eBay (I know I know bit risky!). Recieved it today, put in my Sim card (Orange UK), and it's opened up into the setup (login to gmail blah blah time settings), got into the phone mode, but it's not picking up any network on my SIM card
I can get internet (After inputting the APN settings..)
I have looked on the "About" status, and noticed the telephone number is: 07********58622#
I don't know where the 622# is coming from, because it isn't my phone number!
I go to the Network Selection, Choose Orange, and it says "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network"
Any idea's?
when you call your number does your phone ring? and can you place calls with your real number showing up? if yes then i see no problem
Nope, I can't ring out, and I can't recieve incoming calls.
That number is on your sim card, not the phone. It shouldn't effect service though. Infact Mine was 00000000000 until a few months ago when some app wouldn't work because that number wasn't correct. Call TMo and say "google phone" when you get someone tell them you need your sim card updated.
Hi, thanks for that information, bit I have tried it in another g1 and everything worked as normal. Guess it's a hardware fault or a IMEI block
I have the same problem, and I don´t find de answer

[PROBLEM] Sim manager V6.47 - error

My Diamond (not long for this work as I'm going to kill it soon) is erroring when I try to copy phone contacts to sim card.
Steps covered are
menu -> contacts to sim (wait a week)
ensure all are checked
Save
after a short time it comes up Error, Bad Parameter.
I can transfer some contacts if I select a few but some seem to get this error up and I dont understand why. Cant see any pattern with the numbers, no characters in the number, no odd names compared to the ones that do transfer etc.
Obviously I could do it with active stink but I'd rather not have to go and get a laptop from my mates (apple here )
cheers
Stuart

[Q] How to delete messages from sim card?

Well, here's the story:
Every time I get a text message from my voicemail (and only from voicemail) it is stored on sim card, not in the phone memory. When I delete it, the sms disappears (which is pretty normal) but then mysteriously reappears after a soft-reset (which isn't normal). When I use my sim card in a different phone I can delete the message for good (it doesn't show up again in my TD2). You know, asking friends to lend me their phone 'cause I need to delete an sms is a bit weird.
So, the question is: is there any way to delete the sms from sim card PERMANENTLY without removing the sim card from my phone?
I had exact same problem with my TD2.
Raised it with Orange UK support, they could not fix it so eventually sent me a new sim which fixed the problem.
Thanks for advice. I'll try to convince Telfort to change my sim then, free of charge Hope it works.

Sony SOG01 Simlock Or...(please read the thread)

Hi all. I hope someone can help me with my phone.
I have this phone and I have problems with it. The phone was bought from another person, not in a store.
It does not connect to the mobile network and cannot connect to the mobile internet.
It is fully operational, all functions work (except for the sim card), the phone connects to wifi and connects to the Internet. When connected to a computer, it is also completely determined.
You ask, "So what's the problem, take it to repair, they will replace the SIM card module and everything will be fine"
The problem is this. The SIM card is fully defined in the phone. When installing a sim card, a reboot is triggered, the operator is determined in the settings menu (I am from Russia, therefore my operator TELE2, the sim card was bought specifically in order to exclude the old generation of sim cards and also a possible simlock to my other operator), but when you click on the sim card menu, calls and SMS the buttons are grayed out with the caption "temporarily unavailable" (if necessary for understanding, I will change the language of the phone and provide all screenshots of the system) and they cannot be clicked.
Also, in the engineering menu, in the simlock button, opposite the Network subset inscription, there is the number 5 and it is marked with the letter X. This means, as far as I know, that there is a lock on a specific operator. But after a hard reset, the phone does not ask for any codes to enter.
This is my question, how can this be fixed?
Will flashing the phone to global rom help?
I gave the phone to a service center (not a Sony branded center, we don’t have one in our city), they told me that software setup was needed, but there was only a chance to restore the phone.
Maybe I need root access and find some file in my phone?
Please help me.
P.S. I don't have the best English, so sometimes I can't understand you, please don't get mad at me)
P.S.S. I created this topic in the questions section. I'm sorry if I had to go to the firmware section
