Hi All,
I was attempting to perform the 8 failed boots unrooting trick and it worked to get the update started but now it is just endlessly rebooting and running the update again.
Anyone know how I can fix this? I can't even turn it off without interrupting the update process.
Maybe try interrupting it with nooter? Then go back to holding the volume up and the power?

me too! what was the fix?
Have you tried the 3 button data reset? Hold down the N key, power button and volume up button.

Tried that, it goes through the factory reset process just fine, but on reboot goes right back to the "down arrow" install screen
I'm trying to get putty.exe to work (thinking boot count is stuck at 8)- but getting a "network timed out" error and it's unresponsive.

I hate when that happens!
Ok, I got it working, Thanks Bu By.
My solution
I was stuck in an infinite bootloop that drained battery to the point to the Nook not booting.
After a full charge, I used a Nookie Froyo (0.5.6) card to boot.
Then, re-enabled ADB in Win7 and then reset the BootCnt file to 8, forcing an update back to 1.0.0
THEN, ontop of that I had to do the 3 finger salute to wipe /data.
After that, I was very careful in adding my hacks back in there one at a time to make sure I find the reboot culprit.
I've been running 24+hours without reset. ( My suspicion is that something in the autoconfig script is causing issues so I removed some of the code before running the batch file)

I dont know how to get out of this loop or to go bak to recovery manual mode. Please Help. Any chance we can fix this
Thanks
Pull your battery to get out of the bootloop. Then press and hold home while pressing the power button. That should take you to your recovery, where you can wipe and reinstall CM7.

EDIT: I am late to the party, nvm.
I did what you said. When i press power and home button the only menu option i get is 'Clear Storage' to which i pressed yes and 'Menu reset' which i pressed yes. it reboots and back to the loop. Back to loading CM7 and 'touch to begin'
The party is still on. As said installed CM7 with Gapps for CM6 accidentally and now stuck in endless bootloop. Trying to fix it. First suggestion hasnt worked so far
OK so you don't have a recovery (I'm guessing you tried to use rom manager = bad idea). Do you have ADB?
I think I do but have never used it ir dont know how
Is there any hope of recovering the phone or is it just better to get a replacement from Sprint

You need to pull the battery, press volume down + end button (at same time) in order to get to the bootloader. You should then see the skateboarding androids. Press the home button to get into recovery and wipe/format boot, system, data, cache (just to be sure) and then reflash and flash the right gapps.

I doubt sprint would even look at it, let alone fix it or replace it, once they see that you rooted.
Also, I've flashed older gapps with cm7 and didn't get loops. My guess? You forgot to data wipe before installing cm7.

Thank you so much. That finally got me into reboot. Now waiting for reboot with fingers crossed Thank you
Well something went wrong and for all you guys out there with Sprint. They did replace my phone. All i had to do was call and tell them that I was at their Service center to fix the phone and those guys couldnt fix it and it is stuck on the boot screen. But i think i will manage to salvage this before my replacement arrives
Lessons Learned
So the big lesson here is when you need to get into recovery press the volume down and the home button simultaneously and your home free. Thanks to all who helped
Update - Issue Solved
So i did mange to get into recovery and wipe everything off and reinstall cm7 again. Now i hope to flash the right gapps and ill be in gingerbread heaven

If you have a sprint hero, that is actually not correct.
hold home and press power = recovery
hold vol down and press power = bootloader
I don't know what's up with your phone, and I'm glad you fixed it, but if I were you I would reflash a good recovery image just to be safe. Also, make sure when you're getting ROMs you get them from a thread in hero cdma and use the gapps also linked in the OP of that same thread (don't use rom manager IMO). Always flash from recovery and follow the correct steps, that way you should not run into "issues" again. Also, my best encouragement for you, is to search and read. Happy flashing
If you have big fingers, pressing the power button can sometimes press the search button or back button, often causing you to boot into bootloader instead of recover.

Yeah, I have to use my thumbnail which will eventually chip off the paint or whatever it is on the button.
Ha. I actually place the phone on a flat surface a press the buttons.
Root/Hack-Mod_Always*
Hold down the HOME button and then hold the POWER/END CALL button til the phone screen comes on and that should boot you right into recovery if you're having problems with the volume down method

I'm running streak droid honeycomb. I did a factory data reset through the settings menu and the device reboooted, appeared to be resetting but no I'm stuck on a screen with the android character and a triangle with a red exclamation.
I rooted and installed this so long ago that I'm lost. I mostly mess around with my phone. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Did you try to get into recovery after charging it? You could reflash that way or nvflash it again.
But WHY THE RUM?!!!
Follow the instructions here:
Streak 7 Flashing Guide
to get into Recovery Mode. Then select option 3; "Factory Reset (User data and Internal tablet storage".
That'll get you back to bone stock assuming all you really did was root it. Done this a bunch of times. It'll work.

I hope it's alright I jump in...as I have the same problem. Stock HoneyComb 3.2 not rooted. Would boot up fine, but was unable to get into recovery or fastboot so performed a factory reset through privacy setting and now stuck on the logo. I was (don't know now able to see connect using nvflash but unable to locate any clear instructions on how to flash a ROM (either a new one or stock). Hence the factory reset.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks...

NVFlash back to 2.2 using this link: http://d-h.st/iXc
After that using its stock recovery, using the factory Update.pkg, update to HC again. All can be found using links from this starting page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Dell_Streak_7

Thanks wptski.
Using nvflash I got back to 2.2 but the problem remains that I can't boot into either stock recovery or fastboot in order to install an update.pkg.
I can connect in AXP mode but haven't found any instructions of how I can use it to perform an update or install a custom recovery. It's a problem on the tablet - all the drivers are installed on pc and I've never had any problem in the past, as long as I could get the phone into recovery or fastboot. The symptoms are soft keys light up, battery light flashes 4-5 times and then it shuts down. I can boot up normally into 2.2
I should probably find another forum for my 'new'/old problem...as I'm not stuck at Dell logo anymore :silly:

Okay, to get into the stock recovery and /or Fastboot mode you are holding the up/down volume button and the power ON button at the same time, correct? It does take a 2-3 seconds for either to come up on the screen.
You can't installing anything from APX mode or get into recovery mode from it either.

Correct re: stock recovery/fastboot - lights flash shuts down. I can get into APX mode, that's how I got 2.2 on it. I can't find instructions though on how to do anything else with APX - like get into recovery mode The link giveen provided me in another post has a prewritten batch file I used - so my thanks goes to the author.

Have you tried to NVFlash 2.2 again? From your other post, you were on 3.2 before so I'd retry the NVFlash again, at least. It seems that you got into stock recovery mode before so the buttons did work before although I have heard of them getting stuck with both ON.

Thanks so much for your help wptski!
I re -nvflash'd 2.2 with the same result....successful flash and can boot into OS. Still unable to get into stock recovery or fastboot. The buttons don't feel stuck - but? Can I use nvflash to get anything other than 2.2 on to it? This all started with wanting nothing more than a 'simple' root Since I"m broken, any chance I can use nvflash to to get TWRP and ICSB4 on it - nothing to lose at this point
Another thought: would moving to a linux machine open up more possibilities?

Here's a test to see if your buttons are stuck since you have the NVFlash drivers installed, with the S7 OFF just plug into your PC, if you hear the normal audio sound when you plug in something into your USB port, they are stuck. Not sure if it would boot normally with stuck buttons.

Pull out the battery, put it back in and then press power while holding the volume up key. Let go of power button like 2 or 3 seconds after the logo pops up. You might have to try it a few times to get it right.

Ok guys. I installed the update named "C6603_10.3.1.A.1.10_Orange FR" with Flashtool. It went well during the process. Then it restarted. After restarting it started showing the Orange boot image. And when it booted completely something came up saying NFC update failed (00006). And then it started restarting every minute. I cant even restart the flashing procedure with this thing just restarting. Cant go in any setting it will just start restarting. And there is not network signal on the top right side as it shud be showing.
Please Please tell me anything helpful with which i can atleast go back to 4.1.2 and get the hell out of this problem.

Hello,
can anyone help me. My HTC phone m7 just had a count down and then shutdown for it self. It then began to reboot over and over and it never gets pass the HTC logo.
I tried:
1. going into the splash screen, but i reboots even when i do that. It happens so quickly i can't select fastboot, factory reset or anything.
2. Holding it close to a bring light and hard reset.
3. Waiting for 48 hours.
4. leaving the battery to drained and then hard reset.
I can't remove the battery. and when ever i put the phone to charge it keeps rebooting over and over.

If it's in bootloader mode it should be fine. In order to run the .exe file your phone must be in bootloader mode. You managed togo into bootloader, so there should be no problem. If that .exe doesn't solve your issue, than it's safe to say it's a hardware issue
