I have a Sprint Hero running Fresh 2.4.0 by Flipz and I am trying to put stock Sprint 2.1 back on the phone. When I go to push the software on there it says the phone is not connected to the computer. But I can charge the phone and move stuff from the sd card I can do everything but put the software on there. Can anyone help I am trying to sell the phone to get a EVO
Are you using the RUU? If so, close it and try the following code in adb:
adb shell reboot oem-78
This will boot into the bootloader with RUU mode enabled. You should just see the HTC symbol. Then run the RUU again and it should find the phone.

im trying to unroot my hero so i can start fresh but its not letting me
I've been able to do it before...like 3 times i think, by running the .5 RUU thing and plugging my phone in and itll go back to stock 2.1 ROM with no root
now when i do it, the screen says "Waiting for bootloader (xSeconds)" and then my phone stays on the black screen with HTC on it and then it says to make sure my phone is plugged in and then i have to do a battery pull to get it back on...
someone help please!!
also, i have tried doing a nandroid backup and it told me to run nandroid-mobile.sh or something like that. i dont know what the problem could be :|
well, i just wiped EVERYTHING, including the memory card and then i put a nandroid backup from when i first rooted my phone and restored it and it went back to that no problem, so i decided to just update it to the .6 ruu or whatever so that i can take root off like that and maybe then id bae able to flash back to .5 again
but no. that doesnt work neither. After it downloads the update, it boots into recovery (im using the 1.6.2 one from clockword mod) and said something like "E:\verification failed(49 files)" and soemthing else that i dont remember.....
SO i just decided to run the .5 RUU again because i was hoping that it mightve been the ROM i was using and thought "well, hey, this is from back when i first rooted it, so it should work like it always did" but im still getting that same message where it says its waiting for the bootloader and after 90 seconds, it tells me to check if my phone is plugged in, which makes no sense to me since it reboots itself as soon as the thing starts
helppppp. i have a new hero coming in tomorrow and i was gonna restart this one and use it as a test hero, but it looks like im getting kicked out of the rooting scene i liked my wifi-tether and OC'ed kernals and all the different ROMs with random themes that people like to put out :|
check your usb cable, and you may need to uninstall your htc drivers and reinstall
the usb connector that goes in to the phone is breaking off i guess you can say? like the wires are showing, but it still works great...like it picks up my phone and i can access ADB and my sd card and stuff, thats why i dont get why its not doing it
i just got my new hero and ima start fresh with the htc sync and drivers and see if i can downgrade this one into .5
i just download htc sync from their website and plug the phone in with USB debug on to get all the drivers installed right?...im sorry for the noobiness..
Hello,
My Inc S was rooted for awhile now, and it was having a few problems, So I decided to try and get S-ON... Well I got my RUU But I don't have Fastboot nor ADB connection. I do have HTC Sync on my PC. And when I was going to put ARHD back on my phone, I found out that I have no Recovery installed! And I can not try and 're-root' because I have no ADB!
My Question is: Is there any way to install a Temp root straight from the phone, or is there any way to get my ADB connection back?
EDIT: I forgot to say, The phone in the bootloader still says S-OFF
EDIT2: Hey guys! I somehow got my ADB connection back and fix the problem! So You guys can close it now!
So I accidentally deleted everything on my phone (including all the backups on TWRP) because I'm a dumbass. It says I have 'no os installed', so I'm currently trying to adb push a Rom or Stock RUU into my phone, but I can't because my pc isn't reading the HTC Drivers.
When I turn on my phone, I'm stuck in the HTC boot logo. I can still access the bootloader/recovery, though. So basically, I'm stuck and I don't know what else to do to save my phone :/
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. :good:
I'm pretty sure I've seen a couple similar posts...try searching all the Sprint HTC One forums
..maybe this will help... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2257338

You HAVE to find drivers that work for your computer. Once you can get adb working you have to adb push the Rom to to the sdcard directory and flash regularly.
Obviously back up...again.
Or, second option is to download to RUU. I'm pretty sure that would work... Don't you probably want a second opinion on that one.

I would put the phone in fastboot mode make sure your conected to the internet and your computer should automatically start looking for the latest drivers and install them...once that step is complete i would download a rom and try installing again...hope this was helpfull
I bought an unlocked htc one m7 that workd with my carrier.
I then go home to find out the google play store wont open no matter the steps i tried to get it to work.
Clearing the cache, restarting ect. Accessing android file transfer. Nothing worked.
I called htc and they told me to call google. google told me to do a hard reset. When i did that. i went into twrp mode, which is when i realized the phone was rooted. I then did a complete whipe of absolutely everything. Wrong move on my part.
I should have done factory reset within the normal bootloader screen itself. However i did, and i deleted the OS accidentally and the phone doent say its rooted anymore. When i do a restart twrp asks me if i want to root my phone as it is not rooted and i think teh SuperSU has been removed as well. However, on the normal bootloader options screen from holding teh power button and the volume down button it still says unlocked and tampered on the top.
Anyways, my question is. I am trying to either flash a stock jelly bean rom (my preferred software) onto the phone, or just lock teh bootloader and flash the RUU.
My phone connects to my pc and says fastboot usb. My computer doesnt recognize it through htc sync manager ect. But it says that.
What do i need to use ADB sideload on my mac?
Do i have to install ADP and SDK tools on my mac? How do i use teh terminal commands, what is the process?
Should i just relock the bootloader adn install the RUU?
Can i instal a previous verson such as the 4.3 jellybean original software for the htc one m7 through a stock RUU?
Will installing the RUU give me the latest version of OS for the m7? Cause i want jellybean.
Please answer each of these questions with as much info as you are willing to give. That would be greatly appreciated.
Will post pictures if requested as i have another htc one m7 i can take pictures with, i am first time posting so not sure how.
I know that this is a dead phone and support was dropped along time ago. I program alot of android boxes using custom firmware. This is my first attempt on a phone so I used an older phone I have kicking around. It is a desire 626s. I am Canadian so our phones are on different carriers. My phone is locked to Bell.
I know that there was a HTC stock RUU upgrade to marsmellow. First off the HTC website dropped their RUU file update for the desire 626s. If I was able to find it even does anyone know which one would work on my phone?? I have a feeling that it might be the Sprint one cause they list Virgin mobile and I know that Bell Canada runs Virgin in Canada or that they are just using the same towers.
I was unable to find any real custom roms for this phone. I tried the cooldroid rom but it didnt verify thru TWRP so I didnt know about trying to install it with unclicking the verify button.
Ive managed to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP on this phone thru research on this site.
I found this thread about unlocking the phone yet im having an issue im hoping someone can help me with.

Where exactly do i use these commands? I tried where i have the fastboot and adb files at. ( I had an issue with fastboot I ended up downloading the abdwinapi and adb files seperately and placed them in the folder i had fastboot in cause it never installed properly) I tried opening a cmd window in my phone directory but it didnt work. Is fastboot suppose to be installed on my computer or my phone? I managed to use it on my computer with my phone hooked up to get the data to unlock my bootloader but no other commands work properly.
I cant figure out what i am doing wrong that thread that i was looking at has been closed cause this phone is so old.
Even if you could just point me to a thread to help me figure it out would be appreciated and thanked.
