Hi Eveyone!
Glad to be part of the community. I have had an issue with the recent update from Vodafone of Froyo 2.2.1. Everytime I try to install it my phone turns off (as it should) then starts back up but only to the vodafone start screen. It never goes any further! I was wondering if anyone could point me in the direction of the manual install files for the 32B Htc Magic on Vodafone. I believe certain things are missing, including Live wallpapers, flash, wifi hotspot and some others. I really am stuck and any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks you all in advance

If you want someone to actually help a list of what rom you were running, spl, recovery, radio, overclock, etc would help..
right now sounds like you overclocked it too much but since you didn't give any details I can only speculate
Hi,
I rooted my phone with latest version of Unrevoked but have noticed some strange things with phone since.
Can someone please tell me how i unroot the phone?
I got a HTC Wildfire Vodaphone UK. It's only a few days old and it's causes power on problems since rooting, really desperate to unroot the phone.
I have only rooted the phone and NOT installed any roms or anything, after rooting the phone i made a nandroid backup, maybe i need to do something with this backup to revert phone back to how it was when i bought it a few days ago?
Thanks for any help really desperate to unroot
MR
There is no way to just "unroot". The only way is to reflash the phone with a totally stock software from a RUU package or similar. Search around these forums, and there are plenty of threads asking exactly the same thing as you, and these should be able to give you an idea of other people's experiences.
I am however, intrigued to find what "power on" problems you're getting. Are you referring to the bug that exists whilst charging the phone in an off state? Whilst you are rooted, before you go the extent of flashing an RUU image, it may be worth trying a custom rom (Wildpuzzle 2.1 is quite nice as a stepping stone from stock) and seeing if your bugs continue. Also, try updating ClockworkMod via ROMManager.
Hi,
The problem I am having is when the phone is connected to laptop and is set to charge only and I turn the phone off I cannot then turn the phone back on unless I remove the battery first and cable. I used the latest version of Unrevoked so thought I would have had the latest ClockWorkMod anyway. I have looked on the forum by searching. When you say RRU do you mean a ROM from somewhere like shipped-roms? As I cannot find a Vodafone UK ROM. I decided not to Install Wildpuzzle because of the current existing bugs. I still cannot find a thread that shows me how to unroot my phone so any help in finding a Vodafone UK RRU than can be updated like normal ie get future updates from Vodafone would be great.
Please can someone help? i did search before making this thread but could not find what i was looking for.
If there is definately no Vodafone UK ROM online somewhere maybe someone can tell me which is the lastest genuine ROM from HTC that can also be updated from HTC in the future ?
Is this the one i need below?
RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.37.405.1_Radio_13.53.55.24H_3.3 5.19.25_release_151892_signed
I see one on shipped-roms for Vodafone but has SPA in it so not sure if that means it's spanish. I am in the UK
Would rather a Vodafone UK one thou.
Thanks

There is an app "z4root" . In this app is an option to un-root. I didn`t test this function but I hope it works.
Maybe you need to install busybox before you can unroot. The easiest way to install busybox is to install the app "titanium backup" first than klick in this app on the "Problems Button" for auto-installing the busybox.
Hello guys. I'm newer here and I came in fornt of you with one problem (but biggest one). Today I tryed to fixlag with voodoo and S&G tools and something bad it's happend with my phone. Good day, I have a HTC velocity 4g running on ICS 4.0.3, rooted. Unfortunately, when i tried to view my recorded videos in gallery, it keeps on crashing saying "Unfortunately, view video has stopped". but i can record and take pictures with no issues, and also i discovered the stock music player also crashes, also saying " Unfortunately Music has stopped", can somebody please help me as this is very hassle on my part. I just bought this phone from a pawnshop. I tried hard resetting the phone 3 times but still the error appears, and also when i bought this phone it is already rooted. I hope someone expert here can help me, im a newbie in android. Thanks in advance for the help and god bless.

Get an ruu from HTC website and run it...
It will return your phone to stock and hopefully fix your problem...
Just make a back up of your media that you have on your internal sd

RUU = ROM UTITLTY UPDATE
basically a stock rom update for the a carrier/manufacturer
eg:
Official AT&T Vivid ICS RUU from HTC http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1564776&highlight=ruu&page=3
[STOCK] RUU_HOLIDAY_ICS_35_S_BM_ for bell mobile http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662390&highlight=ruu
If you have a Velocity, you probably don't have ATT.. so don't use that RUU. here are all the Holiday RUUs (http://www.filefactory.com/f/002b74e0f4775869/) (thanks @Football)
Oh i see, so I need to download a RUU to update my velocity? do i just need to connect it with the usb cable after downloading the RUU? Thanks for the help. Its really mind boggling for me to understand any customization or upgrading a phone. Thanks for the help

if i remember correctly.. in order to install a RUU
You must have a locked boot loader ( locked by default) , so you need to check if yours is unlocked , which I suspect it is since rooted.
I think u will also loose ROOT.
after you run the ruu , its easy to relock the bootloader and root
get familiar with the SUPERTHREAD and the hasoon all in one tool kit...
Hey there!
I recently found my old G1 in storage and I wanted to check it out and use it for a bit. However, when I boot the G1, I get to the Android splash screen which seems to free and then it moves to a blank screen and never progresses from here.
This is a custom ROM. God knows which one it was since I flashed this back in 2009. I can get into the HBOOT screen by holding Power and Camera. I tried using my WIndows 11 PC to ADB but it looks like it's no longer supported. If someone could assist me in getting this thing to boot I would be eternally grateful. I don't want to flash a new ROM since I want to check out the old stuff that is on here from my youth!
I can provide as much information as needed for the assist.
Thank you!
