[Q] HTC Pure Touchscreen Continuously Miscalibrated? - Touch Diamond2, Pure Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've loved my Pure from day one but from week two or so, I've had a seriously annoying problem. My Pure will be perfectly fine one day. I'm talking about this touchscreen being epic accurate, I can type like a mad man on roids. But after a while it's like it miscalibrates itself randomly. It's like I'll type up a long email no problem, stuff it in my pocket, and when i pick up i'll hit one part of the screen and it'll click somewhere 1/8" above or below it. Absolutely no reason it would be doing this. I'll clean the screen and recalibrate and sometimes that'll resolve it, for a little while. Then some time later, maybe an hour, maybe a day, it'll do the same thing. A little above or below what i am pressing. It's driving me mad, I can't figure out what is going on.
So now it's time to consult the pros, any of you seen this before?

sir,
i feel the same problem ,if you get any idea then please share with me. my mail id :[email protected]

Whats wrong with my Diamond :(

hey guys
have been a reader more than a poster on this awesome site..
but i have run into some trouble :/
within the past week, everytime my phone gets slightly hot, the screen alignment goes totally out.. like really out..
for example i manage to open the notes app..
if i tap the extreme left side, the draw tool will draw in either the center, or even far right.. its extremely frustrating.
Happens mostly after a phone call, using gps, or plugging phone into usb/charging..
im using Panosha's 2.2 full
Radio .05
I have tried loading the original HTC rom that came with the phone... no difference..
any help would be greatly appreciated
oh, and i do re-align... 10-15 times a day..
when the phone is cool, it runs like a dream

When you have the same probs with the htc original rom, then it has nothing to do with a cooked roms :-(

exactly what mine does
even right after a screen re-align
sigh

if anyone may have a solution.. please let me know asap.. as i will try taking it in on saturday
thanks guys
damn, mine does the same from time to time!
does anybody have a solution?
did a replacement fix the problem?
unfortunately i havnt had a chance to take it in yet, but i have logged the problem with my service provider..
the problem occurs alot more when i used panosha's rom/s
with the default (and now alphazero) the problem seems less frequent, but definitely still happens..
happened badly yesterday when i used gps to get my girlfriend to a casting, but switched on car A/C and after 5 minutes it was cool again *shrug*
its really annoying though
will let u know when i finally get to taking it in, unless u get there first
Hi there, I have the exactly problem what you had. Whenever the machine is hot, it becomes mad. Any solution could be reslove the problem?
It really sounds like a hardware issue... When you return the phone to the store please flash back to the original stock rom (for warranty purposes )
same problem
i am getting he same alignment problem.i do it many times a day but still tapping somewhere on screen taps the other way.very difficult to dial phone numbers

i dont think its an hardware issue,as after i align it works fine for few hours and then i have to align again to make the taps work acurately.........i have heard there is a cab file for it.if any one can post it here.........................or make a cab file so that clicking it makes the alignment as it was default with the new phone
It is a hardware issue. the screen somehow (usually when carried in front pants pocket) will get pressed and SHIFTED. Then screen pushes against the side-cover and this fools the touch-sensitivity of the screen. Try yourself - try to shift screen to one or other side, and directly after it will be better. it's still a service matter though. Send it for repair.
This is a known issue. You need to exchange the unit for a new one.
hey guys...
so late last year i took the phone in and it spent 3 weeks at leaf (HTC distributer here is south africa)
i got the phone back, turned it on in the store.. and guess what... still screwed..
i threw my toys to say the least and got a brand new phone..
the new phone was 110% up until 2 weeks ago..
it started doing the same damn thing (to a lesser extent)
i have found that its a connection problem..
the touch pad is very all over the place if used normally (so basically its unusable)
but if i hold down the top left of the phone(pushing down just above the start menu) with my left hand and use my fingers on my right.. the phone works perfectly again..
does anyone know how to fix this?
its so frustrating, especially knowing im going to be without it for 3 weeks or more again
hmmm ...
i heard that the radio-part is for managing the curcuits.
try an other rom.
but i cant give garanty, i hard it only.

screen problems?

i got my td2 just about a week. yesterday suddenly the touchscreen didnt work at all anymore! i was taking some pictures and then it stopped to do anything on the touchscreen. i rebootet the device few times but no go - even removed the battery but didnt work anymore. then i left the device a few minutes without battery and when i tried it again it worked. this scared me a little... because without touchscreen u are really lost with this phone.
ohwell.. i hope this doesnt happen again. but i actually got another strange thing here:
if i look into the screen from the side.. i can see a strange glimmer sometimes. it looks like oil in water... it does glimmer a little and its not visible all over the screen but the part does even grow. i noticed this yesterday and it was like 5cm long and 2cm width. but now its almost on the full screen and it looks like the effect when u press on a LCD screen really hard. but it appears without doing anything.. does anyone have that too on his TD2??
same problem here. its the device of a friend. one week old. but we didn´t managed it to bring it back to life again...
no we will try a hard reset.
battery was out for ar least 30min wizhout success.
even noticed some glimmer at the screen. hard to describe. like liquid between sreen and screen protector.... but only on those parts were we tapped on the screen...
no we try the hard reset - i´ll report how it worked.
somebody else with that problem here?
ok we tried a hard reset - no success. screen is dead. no way to setup the device. no reaction of the touch screen. will go to the o2 shop tomorrow and bring it back...
wow.. at least im not the only one. my screen is working again but the glimmer didnt go away. also today appeared one more defect on the screen - it looked like the protection plastic is moving, but then after some tapping on the screen it went away again. very strange!
the glimmer looks indeed like a liquid between the screen and the protection. sometimes its almost not visibe and sometimes its really good to see. i wonder whats going on here..
hey i just found something out!!
my screen has something like little bubbles under it when i do touch it on a certain area. when these bubbles are visible.. my screen does not work anymore!! then i can clean the screen a while with a tissue or my tshirt or whatever and the bubbles go away - as soon they are not visible anymore the touchscreen works again!!!
im tryin now to give that phone back and get a new one. i dont even have that phone 1 week!!
I have a Diamond2 with the same frozen screen issue. The screen just did not react to any tap. Soft reset may put it back to work again, but the symptom repeated after some time. Even hard reset cannot rectify the problem. It is hardware defect. Fortunately it is one week old and still within the one-to-one exchange policy and I can take back to the shop I bought push for an exchange. Having email HTC and they just ask for service check and refuse to exchange a new one. If you conduct a Google search of freeze screen, you may locate a lot of touch screen issue but only very limited solution. I suggest you to have the device exchange than going to repair.
Does it look like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2557175#post2557175???
Hi, I am experiencing the very same problem. Touchscreen stopped working. Taking out the battery for 5 minutes fixed it. But there is a oily liquid now beneath the screen. My device is 5 days old, this should not happen
Taking it to the shop on monday.
we tried everything but without any succes...
today we gave back the phone. it was within the one week limit. but there is another limitation: 15 minutes airtime! i said to the guy in that shop: when he can show me the airtime, we keep the phone - because than the screen seems to work again... )
but no problem they exchanged it against a new one! good service, very customer friendly at o2!
I encountered this one day after getting my unit. I got a replacement. It seems two layers of the touch screen is "stucked" together. Use scotch tape to lift up the area and and the touch screen responds. But the next time you press on the screen it will get stuck again.
So get it changed.
wow
what a great idea... never ever thought of that... *lol* but when you buy such a sophisticated mobile it looks very unsophisticated to lift your screen with scotch-tape everytime you tapped on the screen...

kinda yes. but not that big and after cleaning phone with a tissue it goes away. i will get a replacement in a few days.. hope this doesnt happen again - but shop told me it seems that there are a few ppl with that problem on td2!! :-(
ok i did get a replacement now and all is fine again. but i think i know what caused the problem.
actually i had the phone always in my back pocket of my jeans. this is not a very good idea when you sit down. the phone gets some pressure on the screen and my screen actually was lowered into the case a little bit. you can see this from the side. that did cause the air under the screen and also the oily liquid that sometimes appeared. so i think the screen felt into the phone case and this was causing the problems. my new phone does not look like the screen is lowered - its totally flat. so i will take more care and not using back pocket of my jeans again to put the phone in

I hope you are joking... I mean one can't be serious about carrying a touch screen device in a back pocket of his jeans. Are you even surprised about what happened to it? In fact I'm rather surprised you got a warranty replacement. There is a thing called User manual that comes with the device a it is saying 'Always remove the device from the pocket of your trousers prior to sitting down'. Yu are really lucky indeed you got a replacement....
well aint a mobile phone made for putting in the pocket? this is not my first phone and i never had such a problem even with a touchscreen phone. its not like i did sit on it with full force or something.. just had it in back pocket during cardriving. you can easy do that with any other phone without breaking it...

that's exactly what's it's not - it's a pda phone and it kind of makes sense to treat it differently from normal mobiles which can withstand all sorts of abuse. also if they ask you specifically not to do something because it can damage the device - and you do it and then you are surprised it happened. it's written there for a reason. they surely know that for many people it will be their first pda phone so they don't have much clue how to treat it...

Random Rom Request... :)

Hi all...
I've not really posted before so, first of all, "Hi!! " *waves maniacally*
While I know there is no best rom and they're all different, I was wondering if anyone knew of a rom that didn't need the Touchscreen??
The reason I ask is that recently the touchscreen on my X1 has been having random fits of deciding it no longer works... i thought it could help to re-flash a new rom, but when it started back again it comes to the screen alignment setup page (forgot about this) and i'm stumped, since the touchscreen won't work right now...
Know it might be a random question, and probably unlikely, but any suggestions would be great!!
probably not...
but seeing as your x1 seems to be, well, broken, you should really get it repaired, before it just goes completely kaput!
Hi,
If you leave in Holland i can fix your telephone you only need to order the part, and bring it with your telephone and i will repair it for free! Did this before with different sony ericsson phones so got some knowledge of it.
Greets,
wouter
your ribbon cable has probably worn away ( a common problem)
My touchscreen didnt wanna work when the keyboard was out for some reason lol. I sent it for repairs and they fixed it in under 48 hours. Quite impressed i was.
same reason! ribbon cable was worn away. happened to me too, unfortunealt took SE a couple of weeks (due to a postal strike perhaps)
See... that's the weird thing... I thought it was a physical hardware thing, but after loading the new rom, eaxch time i turn the phone on, there's a screen before the align screen setup that says "tap to setup windows", and when i tap that, it progresses to the next screen... It's like it's sort of working but it depends on the screen it's on??
Thanks for the kind offers, but living in ireland myself, so might just tackle it myself as a home-repair... if i can pinpoint the problem...
Happy St. Patrick's Day zac! Let's get hammmerrrrrrrrrrred!!

[Q] Ok there goes the Digitizer

Hey guys,
I have a samsung Galaxy Ace and I have been really happy using it. It is the best budget phone out there till date and it's a completely satisfying experience. However I hit a major bump past week when I accidentally dropped my phone and the screen (digitizer) just cracked like a thin ice. The touch sensitivity of the phone was still as smooth as it was before the crash.
I promptly went to my mobile repair expert and got the digitizer changed. The buttons and screens seemed to work with a little resistance which wasn't a deal breaker. However I found a couple of more disturbing niggles on the phone.
1) The touch seems to have a mind of its own. Especially so when I have to use messaging or whatsapp. The keys, are not accurate. "How are you today?" comes up like "Hpw are ypu tpday?". The spacebar and backspace buttons are hyperactive. One touch and the phone keeps adding spaces crazy number of times or just deletes the whole sentence. That's really annoying.
2) Whenever I place a call, the display goes blank (which happens when you place the phone near your ear, anyway). But the display doesn't come up even after it's kept away from my ears. So technically I stare at a blank screen and pretty much can't do anything if I have to cut the call or put the phone on the loudspeaker.
For an android lover, especially an ace lover, this problem can be pretty disturbing. I am thinking of going back to the expert and have him check it. But I want to know if this is a problem with the digitizer or a hardware of the phone has given up. Here's a shout out to all the Android Gurus to shed some light into my predicament.
regards,
Vivek
Check out this section somebody already reported the digitizer problem and how to simulate that

[Q] HTC Desire 510 Keyboard problem

Hi guys!
I've bought an HTC Desire 510 3 weeks ago and..it was amazing, but..after couple days I discovered that my keyboard makes a strange behaviour: Sometimes if I want to type a message, if I press A as an example, it understands k, L or everything like that, far away for that letter. In other days, I press backspace, it keeps writing random letters
I've calibrate the keyboard many times, but it won't stop doing that.
I don't have a custom ROM, it's 100% non modified.
What should I do? Should I take it to a service or something like that?
clean your screen off real good. Mine does the same thing when the screen is dirty, seems this model of phone has a very sensitive screen.it also seems to do it when the screen gets really cold
Thank you <3
