How to update the official froyo 2.2 - Wildfire Android Development

Hi,
I have CM nightly and I would like to update the official froyo 2.2. If someone has found a way, please describe step by step what to do. Till now I am a little bit lost. Anyway, a clear solution will help a lot.
Thanks

Enable USB debugging on CM nightly...and then run the RUU (you can find it here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877091).
I did this way some days ago...

hello what next?

it was along time since i could have update my phone.
I have G1, and the last update i did was months ago, couldn't find the time to do it.
now i have two weeks off, i would like to update my phone.
i know that some of you will tell me search on the forums, i did but im confused:
my fw version is : 1.6, with cyanogen 4.2.15.1. the kernal version is 2.6.29.6-cyanogenmod.
i was looking around and understand that there is a new recovery i would need to install (i think i read it as amon ra???)
so to my question is what steps - more accurately, from where should i start update.
as i read on the forums there is kingklick & Cannon202 roms out. cause as i understand it cyanogen stop is support for android ( i read it on his blog - maybe im wrong).
so what steps should i follow in order to have a 2.0-2.2 update on my phone.
i dont need step by step, just if someone can tell me what kind of updates(files) do i need, in order to update my phone.
thanks for everyone who will be willing to help me
You don't need Amon-RA, it's simply preference. And as for 2.0-2.2 talk, if you mean upgrading to his most recent ROM's, read those development threads for instructions. It's pretty straight forward.
thanks for the reply
so do i need to upgrade inorder....
i mean do i need to upgrade first to 2.0-2.1-2.2 or can i go straght to 2.2 from 1.6?

[Q] Still stuck on 2.1 update

Hi guys, need some help, my wife's Droid doesn't allow me to update to 2.2, it keeps saying aborted.
1-Phone not rooted
2-Phone won't even flash Clockworkmod Recovery
3-used the official OTA
I need some help since some of the apps are updated to 2.2 the phone won't update them, thanks in advance.
I'll even take a method to root+2.2 together if there's one, thanks again.
You really should search before asking stuff like this.
Well, no 2.2 is not possible in xt720 yet. The kernel can be flashed. JIT and APPS2SD work too! even theming is possible.
Hope that answers your question.

[Q] Quickest possible method to Android 2.2?

After updating my new Optimus 4X to 2.1 by waiting on LG's official update it seems slow and hangs when coming back to the homescreen so since people here said they have no issues on CM 10.1 I attempted to read up on how to do it all but got lost amongst all the sticky threads and various downloads etc to try and find a reasonably easy way to update to android 4.2.
Is there a more simple way to do everything I need to follow to have my phone from the current 2.1 latest LG update to CM 10.1 with 4.2 such as a single step by step thread in plain english that even new users could follow or view in a video? (I have previously updated a Sony x10 via similar methods but can't fully remember everything)
Threads/Sites I looked at that left me a little confused included:
Root method for v20a (and probably later) firmware (Had also looked at a site with instructions to use Googles sdk kit and cmd.exe to run adb oem -unlock...)
Update firmware through flashing the kdz files (With Picture) Step by Step (liked the look of this but is it needed if we already now have up to 2.1? Then tried to get files from CM 10.1 official site which never made much sense using this method requiring KDZ files or can .zips be used?)
Official ClockworkMod ROM Manager Downloads (tried a download of these then the latest seen here as Nightly releases but wasn't too sure how to use them after reading their wiki took me to some more serious looking developer areas)
[JB][412][CWM] ClockWorkMod 6.0.2.8 (FREEDOM for EUR-xxx) (Just started getting confused by here)
If anyone could help explain what happens in this whole process it'd be greatly appreciated as I tried reading a lot but ended up lost, and if there is a fairly straightforward way to do it if it can be shared to help anyone else too...
If not does anyone know if LG are likely to fix the issues with homescreen freezing/slow icons loading (phone non responsive for a few seconds - there was a couple of threads here, one with a solution that never worked) or bring an official release of 4.2 or beyond and should I just wait till then or try to go back to a working 4.0.3?
All help would be appreciated to point in the right direction with all the right threads/guide sites/videos needed to follow please.
Root your phone. Unlock your bootloader. Install recovery with ROM manager or off the thread in your post. Use clockworkmod to install cyanogenmod. I will not explain more because I fear you haven't done enough reading and may run into problems. Do the things I said in that order, and read the guides thoroughly. All the info is already here

[Q] upgrade to cyanogen 10.2

Hello guys,
I have a samsung gt-i9000 with cyanogen 10.1.3 and a few days ago I had experienced some problems, the home button stopped working. I tried quite a few things, based on the info I found on this site and others (like factory reset), but no joy.
SO I thought to myself, better reflash the ROM, but to be honest, if I do that, I might as well install the latest one (10.2.1), and so I decided to do that, but before I start I have a few questions:
I had a look around but I couldn't really find a definite answer to the following questions, so I thought I might post here.
1)Has anybody encountered any issue on the gt-i9000 with the latest ROM?
2)Can I backup all my apps, upgrade the ROM and then reinstall everything from the backup, rather than downloadeing all the apps again? I have never done that before, so I am not sure if it is possible
3)I had a look at the cyanogen mode site and found the relevant info http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_galaxysmtd, but I was wondering something: occasionally on my phone a message appears
and asks me whether I want to update the ROM to the latest available one. I have always dismissed that, but I am thinking, can I do the upgrade from there without going through the trouble of reflashing
it (following the instructions above), or is it essentially the same thing?
4)In the instructions it says "The install guide assumes the Galaxy S is running Android 2.3.". Now, last time I have upgraded - from cyanogen 7 to 10.1 - I attempted to install directly 10 over 7 and things
went horrible wrong. I then reflashed the ROM to 2.3 and then installed cyanogen 10.1 and it was OK. DO I have to do the same thing again and install 2.3. first and then 10.2? If so where do I get 2.3 from?
Thanks
Sorry, can somebody move this under questions, just realized that this isn't the right place.

1) Didn't use CM, been on OmniROM
2) You can use Titanium Backup
3)Yeah, you could do that, update it via CMUpdater
4)Just before you install a ROM with a higher android Version, always wipe /system partition.
cool thanks!
