S730 as webcam?

Hi there, someone of you know a program substitute of WebCameraPlus, (I have tried to install it but does it seem not to work) with which to be able to use the smartphone s730 as webcam? Thanks !

You need install, webcameraplus 2.0
on desktop: start webcameraplus, and: tools/settings/language:english (it isn't work with any languages for me)
on device: start program. the front camera doesn't work, switch on: menu/source/2 camera
menu/settings/network: if you connect via usb: check auotodetect ip on
if using wi-fi, write your device ip adress. port: 2047
push start.
(it will connect. when u see nothing on desktop, push stop and start again.)
(sorry my bad english, i hope it was understandably)

another webcam question:
we all know that wings supports SKYPE and MSN.
is it possible to chat via MSN or skype (etc) on the HTC WINGS and use the internal (front) CAMERA, so that the other side can see you through the camera while having a MSN conversation?

are you sure? what a waste of potential. this internal camera could be used as real webcam for conversation via the htc wings on msn.... are you sure it doesnt work somehow? how do u know its impossibe?

this doesnt work on htc wings. it says there are some skin files missing from the windows directory.

Why don't you write an inquiry to the people of MS to embed the Microsoft Portrait in the WLM application, i did the same some weeks ago when I received my Orbit 2 (HTC Polaris)

messenger contacts and invisible text

hey guys,
i bought my mda vario 3 last week and i already have put a new rom on it
it has built in messenger and some more stuff
but is have a problem; it synched all my msn contacts (all 300 of them) into my contact list in the pda so when i call someone i have to search his number for like half a minute
so waht i did was delete al contacts one by one , but it also deleted all my contacts in msn on my pc !
so i have added some guys back but it stille puts the contacts in my list and i dont want that, how can i fix this?

when i type something i dotn see what im typing, when im done and click away i can see them , how to fix it?its every where in contacts, msn , internet

i also have a problem with skype: i have a connection with lets say wifi and i start up the program and after a while of loading in the splash screen it says that skype could not be loaded

Going to buy the x1, need some help plz

hi guys i'm new to this forum and i'm going to buy the x1 tomorrow hopefully, first i wanted a samsung jet but the x1 is way better because of WinMo, The keyboard and other things wich i really like.
there r few things that i'd like to know, and yes i did some reading first
1- is there any drawback that i might expect from the x1?
2- is it upgradeable to WinMo 6.5?
3- what is ROM development? is it changing the whole OS?
4- what r the mods or tweaks that i might consider to do first?
sry if i'm asking something that is answered somewhere else but i'm new to SE and WinMo so any help will be greatly appreciated

1) Xperia is great in many ways, and you would be investing in something that can last for a long time. Right now, there are no serious draw back to it, at least Physical wise. Its been a long time since it's initial release date, so I would expect Ericsson to have tweaked the structure for its advantage. The best part about the xperia x1 is that its very compatible, and can withstand many different types of ROMS
2) In short, yes, but only through ROMS
3) ROMS are to Operating systems as Phones are to Computers; or its the operating system of the phone. Yes, the operating system gets changed when you flash a ROM to your device (Mobile 6.1 is boring anyways). There are a couple ways of doing this, which you shoudl read up on, but in general, you hardSPL your device from your computer using a program (which allows custom ROMS to be transformed to your device), and then use the computer to run a customRUU, in which the new custom ROM is then transferred to the device. There are other ways of doing this, but you can research that yourself.
4) I recommend either Phoenix 2 or valkyrie 6.0, which are custom ROMS with a ton of tweaks already preloaded in them. Go to the ROM threads for more info.

is this process hard that i might kill the phone or something? if it is not easy like placing some files on the phone and enjoy, can i backup the whole thing so i can flash it back to the state which i bought it in? cause i'm new to the whole WinMo thing, also will it spoil the warranty? cause if so, i'll stick with mods on the normal WinMo 6.1 for a while.

Yep, you can either find a clean Win 6.5 ROM with nothing pre-loaded into it, or one with stuff pre-loaded into it. The process is easier than I first thought: just hardSPL your device, which an app does for you, and then do the same thing for ROMS, in which you dowload the ROm, hook up your computer to your phone, and launch the customRUU exe that comes with it. A lot of peopel might say its way more complicated, but this is generally it. Search hardSPL in forums.

nice, thanx for these useful info but i guess i'll stick with WinMo 6.1 for a while now, but i messed it up anyway tried to install mobidiv arabic support but it showed letters backwards so i uninstalled it and now i have no words in some certain places can u refer me to a working mobidiv multilangual support?

thanx so much for ur replay I installed the second one and it worked great, overall the phone is amazing I installed some programs like xperia tweak, and touchresponse, i have a lot of games with the phone but they r all demo i guess all the games out there must be paid for, I just have more questions,
1-what's a manila?
2-I remember I once used internet on a WinMo phone connected to a computer through USB, is it possible with the xperia? I.E. if i have a working internet connection on my computer, can i use internet on my xperia through this same connection via USB cable?
3-Flash support for opera?? I'm downloading Opera Mobile 10 and then try to play a youtube video and see what happens
4-Can u plz refer me to a good music player that has equilizer?
5-Despite the quality of the sound is very good but the volume is low, is there something to raise or boost the volume?
I know these r lots of Questions but i'll really appreciate if u answer

1- manila is another name for Touch Flo 3D, which is HTC's proprietary GUI. Since it's extremely finger friendly and easy to use, a lot of cooks include it in their ROMs
2 - sync your phone using active sync, there is a check box that will let you use your desktop's internet on your X1 as long as your phone is connected via active sync (sorry for being vague, i don't have AS installed)
3 - most cooked ROMs already have flash support for internet browsers. for stock ROMs, there are cabs around that'll give you flash (again, sorry for being vague, i'd been using cooked ROMs for more than a year and all of them have flash)
4- Manila has the Audio Booster app has EQ settings. You can also try windows media player, nitrogen, coreplayer... there are tons of music apps for WinMo
5- Look for the "audiopara" cab somewhere in the forum

thanx so much for these useful info., so is manila a .cab that could be installed, cuz i'm downloading a 33 MB file that is supposed to install touchflo panel it's a .cab i think.
right now i'm looking for a good audio player, and a divx player, BTW can I play Rmvb video files on the xperia??

I've installed the sound enhancer but I can't hear any changes when trying the different modes or even the different equalizer settings. Does it work for anyone or should I try installing it again?

Do you have HTC HD2? Do you have Windows Phone 7 on your Omnia? I guess you dont and since this is HD2 Windows Phone 7 thread that probably answers your question.
EDIT: Didnt realized you are using Omnia7 and not Omnia Sorry.

seems like they could be loaded on any wp7 using the chevron unlock and tom's .xap loader. But maybe I'm wrong.

i tryed with schevron and Tom XAP installer...the prog is istalled...but don't start!

Did you restarted your HD2?
After restarting mine none of installed applicatons are working, unless connect it back to pc and unlock it with chevron.

I suggest you quit beceause if I was HTC developer, I would not make a free pack for Sumsung....it needs to be paid first. There must be some "core" codes that doesn't match. It works on HD2 coz HTC received the payment when we buy it....

Hi, I think right now there is no way to anyhow affect the call progress other than htc's app attentive phone, which enables some special call features, but nothing like shake to answer
