When I lock the device, it does not seem to lock the left side vol control toggle switch. So when I place it into my belt pouch it changes the Vol when I bend over and press on it. I have missed calls when the Vol has been changed to '0'. Is there some way to lock this switch?

I notice the RIM Playbook uses a edge-edge gesture to wake up the screen. Has anyone seen something similar for recent HTC phones (i.e. ones without a trackball/optical trackpad).
I'm wary of wearing out the power button, but also want to minimize power usage by not having the display on all day.
I use an app call No Lock which gives me the ability to wake the phone using the volume rocker. I figure you can get more wear and tear out of the volume rocker than you can the power button. I would love to see an app to wake the screen with a screen swipe.

No Lock doesn't work for me - probably because of the Exchange security policy.
A nice alternative would be swiping across all of the capacitive buttons to wake the screen.
Just enable this feature but it work only if there is some app still run such as music play while screen lock or notification led flash while screen lock that we can preess volume rocker to turn screen on.
Can we make volume rocker to act as the power button do ?
Is there any way to lock the ringing volume on this great phone? It's were annoying that it's keeps changing the volume on the side buttons. I have tried different apps to lock the volume none of them works.
Today I found out that the lower half of my volume button was jammed into the phone itself, the top half still sort of works.
I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how fix this or any replacements to use instead, at the moment I'm thinking of assigning the lock button to turn volume down and use a dt2w kernel instead.
Volume down button is not functioning, what could the issue be?? Even the screen adhesive has come off, does the battery need to be changed?
