MY PHONE EXPLORER ,
yes , above does not require root and is a good alternative in taking screenshots.!
Unfortunately ,to be able to take screenshots of device ,you must install application , on pc and phone and be connected to pc ,but hey, it takes screenshots perfectly ,no problems !!!
( NB. remember your correct drivers, must be installed on pc eg..same " DRIVERS " as for HTC SYNC ..including adb drivers etc. ,so make sure your
"usb debugging"option is ticked on phone ,for pc to install all relevant drivers
MY PHONE EXPLORER ,according to me is better than the stock HTC SYNC, ( it also sync phone contacts etc to pc.You can copy your .apk's etc to and from device and so much more, etc .
MY PHONE EXPLORER , has an option under .. MENU (on pc )/ 'Extras " /LOAD SCREENSHOT .( you can then save screenshots directly to pc ! )
Remember ,your device must be connected to pc
NB.
even though ,you have sorted your screenshot issue out ,
i post this info ,as i know ,that there is misconception that there is no screenshot application/"method "in taking screenshots , for unrooted phones ?
This alternative, is better than no screenshot abilility!
why don't use DDMS from the sdk ... no root needed !

Hey thanks, I always used to use My Phone Explorer for backing up and didn't realise that it had that new feature of taking screen shots. I'll look into it and may even use it instead as I love that program!
DDMS from Android SDK. No need to root.
is there a screencapture that records? so you can make little films sorta thing
Screen shot HTC Desire (HD)
There is a way !
here is the easy how to all you have to do is press two buttons!
HOW TO:
from elliotbeken . com
To screen shot just hold the lock/unlock button (top left of the phone) and then press the home button (bottom left of the phone)
No sure if it makes a difference but i have USB debugging ON.
The screen shot is then saved in the photo gallery.
Phone info:

Andriod ver: 2.3.5
HTC Sense ver : 3.0
Software Number: 3.12.405.1

Just use the "standard" printscreen (long press vol down button + power button (simultaneously)).
Or change the contrast of your PC monitor.

here you go sir. im only giving you this one because the 6 button version always seems to put my phone on vibrate when i dont want it. so heres the one that works. it will not mess your phone up. install to the phone. enjoy.
Thanks
Thank you very very much!
I've never done this, how do I install?
Move the .cab to your phone - use File Manager on your phone to browse to where you put the file - run the file by clicking on it
I installed the cab, but I dont see anything different...do I need to change any setting after installing? Will this give me the weather on the Today screen?
reset the device
reset then go to settings, today, items, and select the correct plug_in.
I did that, and have the HTC plugin checked...just wondering what im supposed to be seeing...anybody have a screenshot?
What about the weather...How do I get that?
Yeah here it is,
Ignore the watermark, couldnt find a handy/free screenshot
anyway for weather, if you want your own city its another story.
There is one good tutorial for that on the forums, just have to look
*edit whoops images didnt go through, let me crop them

Just select a different theme for the today screen.
I want to try this on my new AT&T Tilt. But can it be uninstalled? In case I change my mind? In the past, I downloaded one of the HTC Home Plug-in CABs from this site, and I had to hard-reset to get rid of it...
quick question, what plugin are you using to show the state of the connections (phone, wifi and bluetooth) ,I don't recognise it

WIRLESS TODAY PLUGIN
:] you guys should really try the cabs duttythroy put together
HTC Home with Contacts
I downloaded the HTC Home cab listed in this string and it appears to work just fine. I need to tweak it (i.e. - add more cities to the weather file as well as add the programs on the program screen), but what I really miss is the Conatcts screen ... the one where you have 9 pictures that are one touch dialing in that tab. Does a .cab exit for HTC Home with the four tabs instead of the three?
I ran the 6 button on and 8125 and HATED the fact that it arbitrarily changed my phone to vibrate mode. But I'd really enjoy the contacts tab.
Thanks!
Battery Bar ...
I also downloaded the .cab listed in this string for the battery bar in the header (for lack of better term). I placed it on the phone and ran it, then the phone rebooted ... nothing. I executed the .cab a second time, was told the previous version would be uninstalled, it installed and rebooted again ... nothing.
I picked the QVGA version of the bars, not solid. I may try solid next but I can't imagine that would correct any issues. Just wanted to post that it didn't work for me.
Hi,
with the hidden softreset button and the need to pull off the back so slippy ;-) , i tried an old soft that i was using with my kaiser:
psShutXp , google search ..
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=280010
the darkside it was a little tiny for the Diamond2's big screen,
but there is vga version:
developper:
http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1033538&postcount=2
skin's:
http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/users_skins.htm
but if i try to replace the skins in the /program files/psshutxp
folder (two gif's) it doesnt change anything
EDIT: i figured it out, some skins spelling were incorrect
extract from the author manual
For VGA version, 3 gif's files in a skin.zip:
psshutxp_skin_vga.gif - checkmark (24x24);
psshutxp_skin_rus_vga.gif - russian dialog (440x280);
psshutxp_skin_eng_vga.gif - english dialog.
so the VGA black spider skin i chose
http://ppcsoft.narod.ru/english/vga_skins.htm
had
psshutxp_skin_enD_vga
instead of
psshutxp_skin_enG_vga
useful anyway.

I don't get this. If the phone is in such a state that you need to access the reset button at the back, then surely you're not going to be able to reset the device using software since you won't be able to get at that software. And if the software's working well enough that you can run a program, then why not just hold down the power button for a few seconds and switch it off and then on again that way?

sometimes windows you know ;-) , needs a reboot, it's not frozen but, one application is working wrong, perhaps the memory is eaten and not given back
i encountered many times worries with my gps(cold start) on my kaiser and that helped, i have not enough recoil to know if it will be so needed with topaz.
nb: there's also an autoshut off, suspend, timer
i must confess also while driving but hush

So has anyone tested the program mentioned above for soft resetting the phone?
I manily need to soft reset the phone after installations (like .net CF 3.5) and don't like the idea to remove tha back cover every time (since it will get loose).
When i installed HD Tweak, it installed even HD Soft Reset.
And it works to reset our Diamond2

Why on Earth would you want to install and use an application to do a soft-reset?
Holding down the power button, switching off the phone that way, then touching the power button to turn the phone back on, does the same thing as a soft reset anyway.

Yeah, that was what I was trying to say. I don't know why people want to install a separate application to do this when the device can do it out-of-the-box already.

just saving the on/off button's life(you have to press it twice), i have received my diamond since 4 days
and i had already softreset at least 20 times for soft install which requires a reboot and several times for example device.exe, shell.exe crashing or touchflo worries.
so i dont like removing the back too often when i could it do by software. And after all if you have no use of it dont install it ;-)

many thanks gtrab. top notch as always. did you ever get around to porting across the F series icons to wm 6.5?? i had them on my X1, i certainly miss them on the x2! i think they all worked apart from the signal icon.
regarding the F series, it is a LOT of work: it took me more than 40 labour hours to edit thee DLLs with all the selected icons from forum members and some original icons
new icons especially require a lot of time
but I am getting bored of the icons and I may do it all again
REGARDING the interface shown in the shots, its SPB professional panel
It comes preinstalled !!!
Very customizable desktop-like idea of moving interactive items around
This works a treat and saves having to click all over the place to find out the battery level.

regarding the F series,
even when all other icons seem to work, they were cooked over WM6.1 DLLs, so the original WM6.5 DLLs are overrided and replaced by the older OS ones
you may not notice it, but some system bugs may arise when running old OS DLLs (6.1) under a new OS (6.5), that's why I don't recommend using it under WM6.5 even when it does partially work
yeh i get what u mean. i only tried it for a few minutes, when i saw the signal icon didnt work i removed it.

sounds great!!! but how about X-series? i already wanted to do it myself, but for 6.5.x there are some icons missing. and so far i've been too lazy to make them... (as that includes reverse-engeneering)

Go to the first post/page of this thread and download the SDKCerts.cab and the SEX2BAtteryEnhancer.cab.
Using your computer and the micro USB cable that came with the phone, hook up the USB cable to the computer and the micro USB to the phone.
Gain entry to your memory stick on you phone using the software on your computer and put the SDK and SEX2Battery cabs on the phone memory stick. You do not need to create another folder for these cabs.

This is a Pure and Fast Android AOSP Froyo 2.2.2. This is for people who recommend EXT2 build for the speed and this build's speed is like a Nexus S. Using Neopeek's EXT2 Android Installer. I suggest you to open all apps and sync your account with Google on the first boot and then reboot your device for the best speed. I have installed all Google APPS in it and all are up to date. First boot will be slow so after the first boot reboot it for optimal speed. Also Fixed some Bugs. This build is fully ROOTED and SuperUser is installed.

THANK YOU!
Hello,
Thanks for a new rom!
Is this more or less the same as the FAT32 one or are there any other changes? Like are the hardware keys still freezing and so on?
,Olle
somehow already an hour gone i hang for countless times haven't able to see how the desktop looks like
Sim unlocker?
Been using it heavily for 2 hours now and everything works so far - no freezes...
Have a problem though, coming out of flight mode W-LAN connects right away (great) but the dialog for me to input my SIM code doesn't show. Does anybody know how to bring this up manually? I see no other choice but to restart my phone for now which is a bit frustrating in the long run
Also, locations like Sweden and other smaller countries seem to have been stripped out of this one, a bit annoying to not be able to set location to Sweden but I gues I'll live
,Olle
works great, thank you =)
works greats thanks
i can only receive calls by the physical button? there is no option in the screen
whats the battery life,
is it like 10 hours or less?
good rom, but 3d is still slow
I'm testing this rom and it's amazing!

My hardware keys still froze after a few hours.
It is a very good rom and i have no freezes until 10 hours.
Only one thing, the wifi power is not so good like in winmo.

cannot open that page....
great rom, but still seeking for Chinese font display solution.
I recently broke my display and I'm now left with a not so nice black screen. The touchscreen still works : I can feel the haptic responses and I can respond to calls by swyping my finger on the screen. I want to use screencast to perform diverse actions but the problem is debugging is OFF. I'm looking for either one solution :
- step by step screenshots to guide me through debugging ON
or
- turn on debugging externally. I've read several threads about this but no one seems to know whether or not it's actually possible to turn debugging on without touching the phone, so I thought I'd ask it here.
I'm currently on KingDroid ICS ROM Notemania v5 (rooted) and I have CWM v5

Nope, don't have a pc monitor neither. My laptop is currently the only display I have.
I believe usb debugging works in recovery whether it is enabled or not. Anyway I have uploaded the procedure using screen shots, Hopefully you can get it right.
Start pressing home, Then locking the device - We can start from how i did it now
press home, swipe anywhere on the screen (if you have swipe to unlock lockscreen?)
press menu button, tap the screen just above the menu button, This will touch the last option under menu (which is settings)
now, Do a big scroll right down to the bottom, and touch the screen about half an inch above the home button. this will take us into developer options,
Now touch the screen about half an inch down from the FFC (front facing camera) this should tick the enable usb debugging box
Click in the middle of the screen, slightly to the left and this should select Okay !
refer to the pics as a guide.
good luck !

Thanks a lot! Debugging successfully activated! But I had to try at least 20 times before doing the whole thing right.
PS: yes debugging works in recovery no matter its status, but for an unknown reason, I can't stay more than 5 minutes in CWM. The phone always ends up booting by itself.
haha well im glad you managed to activate it whilst blind, Ive seen numerous failed attempts by other users with similar problems lol.
did you get what you needed to do, done ?
Yep. adb pull was very helpful. I'll see later for the rest.
