Simple Question about upgrades

Hello,
My Windows Media Player Key on my SX66 is mashed in to the phone and unclickable. Due to this key is used to open boot options when upgrading etc. is it impossible for me to upgrade? If so, will there one day be an installer or, er, something that can help me through the situation?

To my knowledge, there is no other way of entering Bootloader, so you're stuck!

Cingular 8125 im very new and want to update to new windows mobile

i know there has been a million post on how to update this phone to the newest windows but i read them and just cant make any since out of them if some one could put in easy directions for me to do i would be very thankful. it is a cingular 8125 unlocked and i have tmobile service if i update windows would i have to unlock it again? and i would also need help installing the i phone theme. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!! it would be great if there was a video i could watch on how to do it or if someone could explain it step by step to me like i said i am very new to this sort of stuff and can't make heads or tails out of the other post explaining how to do. PLEASE HELPP MEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No, you need to unlock your phone only one time before unpgrading windows.
Phone Theme... i don't know

Hi Every1 A HAve A Few Quick Questions!!!

Hi to every1, im new to the forum, to the MDA/Wizard/G3 World and Windows Mobile Pocket Pc Phones.
Ok i just got this Used (Second-hand) T-mobile MDA A.K.A. Wizard and i callled t-mobile US to find out what is the mazimun memory the this phones supports since i couldnt find any info in their site, they didnt have the info either. So if anyone knows about this phone, i would be more than pleased, also let me give you some info about my phone:
T-Mobile MDA (Wizard)
Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 Build 14955.2.3.0
Processor: OMAP850-195MHZ
IPL: 2.26
SPL: 2.26
GSM: 02.25.11
OS: 2.26.10.2
This is my e-mail Just in case any1 wants to contact me as to give me any info that cannot be given here, or guide me pointers, guides, tutorials, etc which all will be very much appreciated.
So Far i think i have a G3 Device, right?
I know that t-mobile told me that this device cannot be upgraded by them any more than WinMo5.0 because they just decided to make a new phone, but i have been reading in this forum and i found that this specific device can be upgraded to 6.1 or something like that, also with something that is called Flowcover, or coverflow from HTC is pretty hot, but the thing is that this is my 1st device this kind and i doint have insurance on itsince i got it prepaid for now, also i dont want to mess up my phone or brick it. im very good at following tutorials and step-by-step as long as they are clear and comprehensive.
My point is there too much info and too many threads about the same please can any1 tell me which 1 to follow, and which tuto is the best, and i will foloow it to the letter.
Please PM me or send me an email to let me know what u guys think and if i said something that i shouldnt mention here in the forum please admin feel free to modify my thread, and im sorry if i did in advanced!

Heres all you'll need
Since i was in the same boat as you were about 4 days ago, i'll help you out .
After I spent days asking people questions on a thread I finally found this website's wiki page: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard Windows Mobile 6 for newbies
It helped me greatly, it has ALL the information and steps that you'd need to flash your phone to Button 1.05, then CID unlock it, then flash to a IPL/SPL of 3.08. Then you'd be able to flash to windows mobile 6.1 or HTC coverflow, what ever you choose. Also, if you have a Vista pc it gives a step by step tutorial to how to make it so that you could do this on vista.(Also, WST[Wizard Service Tool] didnt seem to work on my Vista)
And yes, you have a G3
Hopefully that page will answer all your questions and this gives all the info you need.

Oh, Also Do i need to backup anything from my phone to the PC before i do any modification? like for safety purposes? i.e. like to revert it back to original state?
Also after i do this can i use it as if it came with Windows Mobile 6? and do i tell this to T-mobile? or can i use it with other service providers?
what type of applications must i get after this, WM6 or WM5 apps? and where do i get them cause ie been looking for games and IR Apps like remote control and cant find any?
sorry but i just have too many questions in my head, also do you mind sending me a PM or email with your choice of WM6 and which is more stable and complatible with Coverflow?

Yeah, there were alot of questions in my head when i did this too.
You don't need anything special for XP to do this. Just follow the instructions on the page I gave you and download the tools you need to flash your phone.
Also, when your doing this it hard-resets your device so any programs, contacts, stuff like that should backup all that stuff on your pc using activesync and just take note of the programs you have so you could put them back on afterwards, but the programs that came with your phone usually come with the rom you are putting on, so those you shouldnt need to worry about.
To revert it back to the state when you got it jsut put an official windows mobile rom.
Also, doing this voids your warranty with T-Mobile for the phone. And when you use Wizard Service Tool(WST) when you CID unlock your phone, you can also SIM unlock it which would allow you to use it with any carrier.
You can get any apps that are compatible with WM, i'm not sure where good places to get apps are yet, i'm still looking too.
I can't really help you with the choice of WM6 and which would be more stable with Coverflow because i dont use Coverflow, but right now i'm running Windows Mobile 6.1 With Manila 2D using Touchflow.(Shown in my sig) That can be found in the Windows Mobile 6 category of the Wizard forums with a lot of other great roms.

I agree, it seems hard to find a way how to upgrade your windows software to 6.5 or even the new 7.
I find it very difficult to get android yet everyone talks about... there is not website for it..its all hunting which is stupid. Not even torrents have them.

may be u can use 1 of so many roms here, just pick one, and enjoy your new winmo 6.5, if this is your 1st time, may you should read this one

There is an excellent thread in the ROM forum giving step by step instructions. Its a bit daunting flashing the first ROM but after you have done it once or twice its easy
only problem is there are too many ROMs to choose from
... and those pesky chefs keep bringing out updates

[Q] Flash my Orange Tattoo

Hi!
After a long thing, I want to debrand my Orange Tattoo as Orange have added a pile of their own steaming cack that is cluttering up my phone, as well as removing some of the useful features that should be available on there (Flickr, GTalk, GMail, Youtube).
I am a noob to this so please be gentle! I have read a lot of different forum posts about this and I must admit I am confused as to where I should begin.
1) Is there a way to do this without making a GoldCard as I don't have a card reader? I can however access my home network from my phone as I have set up file sharing on my laptop (this is how I have added some of the apps). Or, can I make the GoldCard from my Tattoo?
2) What is the best image to flash? I need my phone to be fully functional, just missing all the orange rubbish. Would a default HTC image work with the market etc? If not, I have found a MoDaCo Rom that I think might be ok...
3) I have found loads of guides on how to do the flashing, but is there a definitive noobs guide (key by key) on how to do it start to finish including the GoldCard creation if necessary?
4) I rooted my phone using a one click app but I'm not sure I trust it is working (can't delete the Orangeware/demo games etc)... can you recommend a "fool proof" method to get my flash etc to work?
5) I will be keeping my phone on the Orange network even after I upgrade it to something better. Will that still require the phone to be SIM unlocked?
