Hi Guys,
I've a problem with my galaxy s, I must repair the phone by assistance.
But I've a coocked firmware installed....
How I can replace the original TIM firmware?
I've downloaded a tar file, by a backup maked by a italian user; so...How I can install this firmware??? I've traied by odin...but nothing...
Please, can help me??
Thanks
Use the Kies Registry Patcher 1.7.0.0 (Just Search for Kies Reg Patcher in forum) and then select the code you need.
If it's only one *.tar file you have to make sure that re-partition is not checked.
Thanks friend,
but I've tried with odin (without repartition, but the process don't go....)
Other ideas?
Kies registry patcher NOT Odin .
Use it to spoof update read the posts on KRP.
That fails one downgrade to Eclair via ODIN then try KRP for update again using your networks correct codes .

Not a clue what that means or is you would need to ask the supplier .
Original firmware comes from network and is not stock you either have a backup of your original rom or use kies to save it from original or find someone that can give you the network rom .

I'm trying....
Thanks
I'll update you
Nothing...I've flashed a jm8 (2.1 android), than I've used Key patcher with TIM id, but Kies tell me: This firmware cna't be updated.....
None cooked firmware at least .

Just wonder if that was a backup made using Clockwork Mod Recovery .
Whats in the tar file if you unzip it .
Clockwork shows 4 img files and one md5 file differnt file system for a rom .
Worth a try put it on your internal sd card and see if clockwork recovery picks it up .

Ok, friend
I've flashed a 2.1 rom..than I used odin with the .tar file (tim branded, only pda file, without repartition and without .pit file)
After 3-4 time...the flash was ok!
Really thanks for your help
Great job glad you got their in the end .

Hi, I got the JPY ROM from the thread in the general discussion, and any time i have tried to flash it onto my phone, the phone refuses to start properly. It just vibrates a couple of times and black screens.
I am using Odin 1.3 and PIT 512 for this as it says on SamFirmware.com.
Is this the ROM not working properly, or me doing something wrong?
Mate did you click repartition in odin?If you did then you SHOULDNT!!!!
Try to get in to recovery mod with the 3 button combo and make a factory reset if yo had NOT clicked repartition.
In case had HAD clicked repartition in Odin then i guess you ll have to download a foul stock firmware and flash it.Meaning a firmeare that has Modem and CSC files aswell and not only PDA file...
I'm just about to flash XXJPY and I was just wondering, do I have to unroot 'before' flashing the single file (pda) XXJPY or can I leave it as is..?? Does it make any difference..??
Thanks

nah you dont need to have it rooted to flash JPY.
I believe the JPY file in the general forum is just an upgrade / high level package which is why you dont tick repartition. Usually look for posts by Richthofen- hes the dude who converts it to mid level packages so you can couple it with a CSC and modem.
hi there same thing happened to me i updated this thru samsung kies im stock at black screen would factory reset make my phone work again? i need help please please please

I am already rooted so should I un-root before flashing or just leave it rooted..???
And also have SGS Battery Icon Mod installed, again does this have to be un-installed before flash or not..??
Can someone post a link to the right ROM that I can use to update using ODIN that will not result in existing data lost ? The one that I downloaded is a single tar file (Size - 298,890KB) that contains these files. If this is the right file, do i just specify the tar file in the PDA and uncheck repartition ?

Hi GUYES , I AM RAMIN ,from IRAN
I had a froyo , JPJPG on my samsung galaxy s. I just now downloaded 2.2.1 JPJPM (single exe file) and flashed using , pit512, and, odin 1.7, that automatically selected repartition mark. then using download mode( volume down+home+power), connected to pc,( while SIM card and memory card removed and pc antivirus was turned off,). Every thing was OK on Odin ,as you see in attached image, but after phone restart, there was a message on phone screen like this(attached image 2).
OK, so please help me to solve this problem.

bless YOu . this really saved me. Thanks again !! I am n00b and not sure what I am doing. Worked
Sorry guys for being a noob.
Story is my tab is rooted and flashed with the OVERCOME RC 2.0 GOLD rom from following alterbridge's thread procedures. Beautiful rom, no complaints.
However the screen has been acting up lately with the finger held down and screen shaking issue.
Ive searched and searched and have concluded its a hardware problem.
I need to flash back to stock for warranty.
For being the noob I am, I've downloaded the stock files....but I don't know how to flash it back.
Attached is a picture of a .zip file of the files inside the zip. Do I use ODIN to flash back? What are the procedures? What file is associated with which box in ODIN? Sorry I just don't have a clue. Or do just throw this into my tab's SD memory and update from CWM recovery mode?...
Do I use superoneclick to unrooted after back to stock rom?
I just don't want to brick my tab...Thanks for any help...
The stock ROM should be a 2.2 FROYO, and the ROM I'm on right now is on Gingerbread...if this makes any difference...
Use this guide first flash with odin it tells you how to flash with odin at the bottom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=894763
and after flash whatever froyo rom you want make sure you got the one that shipped with your device if its going back for warrenty again flash with odin and your done.
Edit dont forget the thanks button if this hellped you .
Thanks for the link.
So i have the .pit file for the PIT section.
No need for phone and csc section i assume.
But for PDA section i dont have any files available? From my attached picture. i only have a data.tar.gz file. Im not sure what that file is? do i just rename it to .tar??? please help
Sorry not sure on them files i think you can use heidmal with those files do a search on here for that
Anyone???
What do I use? ODIN? HEIMDALL? I need help please.
From overcome gold you will have to re-stock to froyo. Which means a repartiton with pit file + phone + modem files. You will need odin for this.
I would suggest flash back to a safe froyo rom first - as per jutleys link above. Then flash back to your original firmware version.
From the pic above looks like you have unzipped the full.zip. For Odin You need the full zip in the pda section, modem zip in the modem and the pit file in the pit section. Download full zips from roto's link above.
Then check out roto backup thread (shows how to restore using heimdall / odin). As i havent flashed back to my original firmware yet, someone else could advise better. I am assuming for stock purposes you need to put the original stock firmware zip into pda section of odin and leave everything blank and then flash away.
Cheers

Thank you for your response. I'll work on getting back safely to a froyo rom.
As for the picture, it is a pic of the content inside the full zip already. Should i unzip and enter modem and pit according? But what goes into the pda section?

That pic is from a firmware from samfirmware? It has the bootloaders in it so be very careful as flashing bootloaders can cause bricks or be protected ones. As i said before, i think you flash the full zip in the pda section and leave the rest blank i.e no need to unzip.
But do so only after flashing using roto safe froyo rom.
As for the files above, It might be wise to take out the bootloaders then rezip & flash but i would wait on someone with a bit more knowledge just to confirm this.
As long as they are the original files for your firmware, you should be ok.
Thanks for your help ezynow.
UPDATE: I've successfully downgraded from Overcome Gingerbread to Overcome Froyo now.
Now it's just a matter of getting my head wrapped around this stock ROM right. The order, and where the files should go.
Anyone else would like to share their insight? This is the file I downloaded, and this is how it is presented to me. I just need someone to help me sort out what is what.
Thanks.
UPDATE #2: Tried re-zipping and converting to tar file. ODIN failed. Re-zipped into tar again without the data.tar.gz file because I don't know what it is, and failed again.
I don't know what to do anymore. How do I get this to work?
bump
anyone?
UPDATE #3: Tried loading the whole .zip file from CWM. No luck.
Who's your service provider?
I sugest look for another stock rom here that is in the correct format i am sure i seen a post showing all stock roms somewhere use odin
Link deleted. It mentions to use pit file + full zip in pda section . Then says out of date.
Also did you check rotobbackup method thread - use heimdall and flash individual files from your extraced zip files. Assuming you can avoid flashing bootloaders you should only be a soft-brick if anything goes wrong and download mode still available.
Forget about using cwm for anything stock related.
Sum1 who has reverted back to stock surely can help out here!
p.s what was your original firmware version?
I have succesfuly downgraded from gb overcome gold to arabic froyo using the file from samfirmware. First try resulted in stuck at samsung logo but I was expecting that due to the ext4 partition. A cache wipe and factory reset in recovery solved that problem. Also I observed when going to recovery that there were errors in red that are coming out complaining of access problem to certain files. Since I am able to boot I then proceded to format the internal sd. After that I again flashed using the same arabic fw. No problems so far even kies sees my fw as the latest.
Here is the procedure I followed-change the files according to your fw version

Sent from my GT-P1000 using Tapatalk
Thanks a lot for the help guys.
I will try going to another stock firmware later this afternoon.
However, the firmware I really need is P1000MUGJJ7 (Bell's stock firmware).
The files I have in hand are apparently the files for this firmware, but how to restore it, I have zero clue. These we're sent to me by a member on this forum.
I think the member said that these were created from roto backup.
I have looked everywhere else for this firmware version but it's NOWHERE. Neither does samfirmware.com
So to sum it up, pretty much these are my only sources to play with, and just gotta make it work...
Please help and thanks again.

Please refer to the attached picture.
It's a pic of the contents inside the .zip file I was given.
Now I just need a solution as to HOW to use them.
Only the pit.pit file can be used.extract it and in odin load it under pit. then under pda load the whole tar file. then check repartition ,reboot and time.....start...

OK. So you are suggesting I take out pit file then CONVERT in someway the whole .zip file into .tar file for the PDA section, am I correct?
Now, I need a proper way to convert this file because I tried this using a converter I downloaded online. And after the conversion, the .tar files was double the size (over 400mb, original ~200mb). And flashing through ODIN using this new file didn't work. So what's the proper way to convert?
hi frnd i own a Xperia Neo V but here i am for my frnd he has did something wrong with his phone and its not booting up i can enter recovery/download mode i just want to knwo how to flash i9000
i have downloaded
Flashprogram Samsung I9000 + Pits
firmware version XAJW5_XEU from samfirmware
i have flashed 5830 and 5801 but i dont find odin to be similar as them
can any1 tell me how to flash i9000 and what pit to use cause i can see 3 pits in it
803
513
512
or a full procedure will be helpful
am just trying to help my frnd to fix his S1
you will need to have the galaxy S drivers installed on the computer they can be downloaded and installed as part of Kies or seperatly from a thread in the I9000 (SGS) section of XDA just search for "Samsung Drivers.exe"
As for flashing Phone put it into download mode and connect USB cable
If the file downloaded is a single file .TAR place into PDA of odin
if 3 file place PDA into PDA, CSC into CSC and PHONE into PHONE and flash.
Most GingerBread ROMs use 512 PIT check on samfirmware as to the suggested PIT file.
NOTE a pit file is not always required but cannot hurt. just ensure that repartition is not checked
what will happen if i re partition it.. will it format everything

re partition will fully wipe the OS partitions, not the SDcard partition but sometimes errors do occur with the SDcard.
The ROM on the phone does retain a copy of the PIT file and can access it during a odin flash.
it is very important to use the correct pit file for the rom or it will not boot
Hi all! Need help: i update firmware for my SG Note from stock GB 2.3.6 to stock 4.0.3 Indian , now i cant write any symbols cuz then i try phone show me "null" . USSD *#1234# - CSC Unknown. How i can fix it? Cant find anywhere CSC SER region.
Thx for help!
sry for english )
How did you update? PC Odin? If so then the CSC would be inside that zip, it's the cache.img, flash it with PC Odin and it should solve your null issue
rename the tar.md5 to tar then open in winrar or 7 zip etc and get the cache image
ie N7000DDLP8_N7000ODDLP5_N7000DDLP4_HOME.tar

Try with Mobile Odin, I believe it supports .img file since it has a cache field..
Copy the cache.img file to your sd card, open Mobile Odin and tap on cache and then navigate to where you copied the cache.img file. It should read it without issues
EDIT: Do you have root? Obviously you need root to use Mobile Odin but seeing you flashed a stock ROM I doubt you have root..
Try to find any ROM for your country that is not one file, there should be one that contains multiple .tar files, you'll find CSC.tar there. Sorry not helping very much here
