Hi,
Always after flashing a new custom rom the market downloading all my old apps
it's boring
I test a lot of apps and I don't want them back when I flash a new custom rom
Can somebody help me ?
Before you flash a new ROM uncheck the "back up my settings" options under privacy in the settings, or sign in using a different account. The apps are linked to you account, so every time you sign in, you will get all your apps again when using the back up settings and your account.
i've tried to uncheck the "back up my settings" but it's not working and i can't use another account because my contacts are linked with me google account
1. Reset the phone to factory settings.
2. Don't enter your Google credentials in the Setup Wizard.
3. Complete the wizards.
4. Go to Accounts in Settings.
5. Add your Google account.
This should prevent the re-installation.
I use a similar method, don't use the setup wizard and when in the OS start gmail and enter your details.

Hi All,
I've just flash the Pure Google Mod ROM to my nexus one but I found that the Google Apps are missing and when I press "add account" in "Account & Sync", it gives a Exchange account but rather a list of choosing. Any ideas?
Using ClockworkMod Recovery, for your information
U also have to flash google apps after flashing a custom aosp rom.
u can download gapps here > http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version#Google_Apps under CM7 is the one u can use for gingerbread it also works on other roms withouth google apps.
i advise to wipe the rom, maybe reflash it after that flash the GAPPS. so first rom than google apps. hope this will help good luck
Why is it when I install some ROM's after you enter your Google account info it starts automatically downloading all your apps? If going back to stock it never does, have to do it all manually.

That is not the experience I had when I flashed the official 2.3.5/Sense 3.0 RUU. As soon as I entered my Google account info all of my old apps started downloading.
I think it's because of the privacy options selected. So add the account later after installation is complete and after unchecking the privacy options and then add the google account.
Oh god I hate that crap. It's an app called mydownloads.provider in sense roms I believe and cyanogen mod has their own version of it. It's tottally up to the Rom dev weather or not its implemented in the Rom. Using titanium backup that thing is like aids when you don't have your data counter backed up before it starts downloading 100 mb of old apps. It won't run until you launch the market and accept the user agreement however so if you quickly run to "my apps" and hit cancel all it'll abort.

I made everything you said but the point is that i cant reset my password.
There is a forgot password option which shows up on the bottom, I believe.
You can select that and it will ask you to authenticate via your Google account, which then allows you to login.
You can then change / remove the passcode.
Hi:
My N7 in San Francisco and my sister's N7 in New Mexico can no longer download from the PlayStore. We get the following error:
Update for xxx could not be downloaded due to an error. Error retrieving information from server. [RPC:S-5:AEC-0])
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Tom
Same problem in Germany with Galaxy Nexus and Android 4.1.2!
I think it's a global Google Play problem.
Found a lot of this posts in different forums today.

Do you have the 3.9.17 version? Open settings/apps/downloaded and open Google play and check version. While there clear data, force stop and reboot. Did you both do ota update, or did you both flash the update? We have 2 N7's, mine rooted and both of ours got the Ota at the same time. Both play stores work perfectly. Heck I didn't even loose root on mine.

I have version 3.9.16. Tried to clear data, stopped and rebooted the phone. After that Google Play asked for terms agreement but the error still exists.
I posted this in another similar thread...
That commonly happens for stopping and clearing data of Google Framework services. Also break Push Notifications in some cases.
Fixes:
1. Clear data and cache of Play Store or
2. Remove and re add Google account and worst scenario do a
3. Factory Reset (then you can restore backed up apps but without data to minimize further issues.)

Go to Settings. Underneath account hit Google. Tap your email address. Go into the menu (three small squares in top right corner) and tap 'Remove account'.

just Clearing the data of market place and force close it didnt do the trick
so i removed google account, rebooted and added google account again, it worked! :good: without factory reset
I am also having a similar issue, however, i have tried removing and re-adding my daughters gmail account, i have cleared the cache and force stopped the play store and i have also done a factory reset. While doing the factory reset does initially resolve the problem, shortly after the second or third download i get an error message advising that it could not verify my account details, it then comes back with the 'error retrieving information from server[RPC:S-5:AEC-0]'. What i have noticed is that the device is not registering itself against the gmail account as when i sign in from my laptop it does not show the device in the list when trying to download an app.
device - A13MID
Android - 4.0.4
baseband - 1.5
kernel - 3.0.8+
any other information you want i can get but id appreciate any help i can get as my daughter is getting kinda upset she cannot install any apps on her new tablet.
(last resort would be to return the device but that will cost me greatly as it was shipped from china (was ordered through amazon).

Since you were comfortable wiping the device I would recommend downloading the fastboot files and manually flashing them through the boot loader. Go to fresh 4.2.
Now there is a commonality between some of these stories I've heard. How old is your daughter listed on the account? You don't have to post it lol I'm not a creeper, but if she is underage I wonder if it causes issues... Just some random thoughts.
Is your N7 GSM? Because it shouldnt have a baseband

1)Try clearing data app+ cache of playstore.. if that doesn't help you
2) If u have "freedom" app installed.. then uninstall that(some users reported this)
3) Lastly,if you have any adblocker installed then restore your original hosts files from it....
4) reboot
5)playstore must work
If you feel that I've helped you in any way,,please hit the thanks button

He meant to remove your Google account and add it back. Go to settings, scroll to Google, click your account, click the three dots at the top right and remove account. Then go to playstore and sign in back. I'm sure that's what he meant.
