yap..best and stable..battery issue also fixed..
think we should not call it beta anymore..
where are the 2.1 ROMs? Telus Lite has definitely the performance to keep up with FroYo!

My thread for 2.2 mod rom only! Sorry!
vote for cronos 1.6
....................
Just wait ...
the MIUI Rom will become the best rom for the MS.
And once the official froyo for Milestone starts rolling this thread will become obsolete because new ROMs will emerge to take advantage of the new kernel.
Here's to hoping MIUI would come to the Milestone2 rapidly!
Eh I have not tried CM6 yet but I think Froyomod by luca is pretty darn good.
waiting for Miui to be more stable though

I know, but that's discrimination of the good ol' ROMS
kabaldan's work is the most impressive! Not to say other ROMs are no good but CM6 has everything working good in average with few bugs.
I might change my point of view if I decide to flash the new version of MIUI 26.11.10 though =)
CM6 (rock) , thanks kabaldan !!!
CM6 all the way...
Keep up the good work kabaldan!
CM6 is the best!
As kabaldan fixed the issue "Touchscreen not responsive or chaotic" for Kernel 2.2, vote goes to CM6.
I kinda like CM6 and MIUI...
Cm6 - Since its very very refined...
MIUI - Looks pretty good...might be my permanent ROM in a few months after major bugs are ironed out.
Well every stable 2.2 ROM is based on CM anyway, or it is Cronos(which also has a lot from CM again )
I prefer FroyoMOD, he has nice under-the-hood changes comparing to CM and is based on CM provided AOSP.
Second pure CM.
Third Cronos, also the great stuff from CM included, but also again as FroyoMOD alot of customazation.
Than HONO has only minimal changes to CM base, so basicly it is CM.
Than there is MIUI, which i havent tried yet, i think they base their mod on GOT 2.2.1 beta leak. Which is bad so i don't try it... I rather w8 for luca to add some great things from MIUI into his stable FroyoMOD Or for MIUI team to make the ROM more stable.
FroyoMod by Luca!

i went for nadalbak's CM6.
but still my problem with milestone's RAM is not solved.who knows which rom has the best RAM management.i keep deleting widgets from my homescreen but i still have aloy of app crashes on backgrounds and services
I just tried the MIUI from 26.11.. gotta say it looks promising but there's no comparison to nadalbak's ROM based on CM6 yet. Since his last built, I can harldy say if there will be a better ROM that could possibly exploit more of the Milestone's potential.
Vote for CM6:
-Long battery life
-Best performance
(ae tinhte đông thế )
My vote goes too for kabaldan's CM6 port. Fine work (hats down)!

You think we should expect a fully stable hc rom when the source is released?
I'm not sure why there aren't any ginger roms running on the nc,
Is anyone anxiously waiting for the source to be released so they can build the rom?...
I'm hoping it will come out next week along with the xoom... as ginger came out with nexus s.....

well the honeycomb preview v4 seems to be extremely stable for a sdk port(besides for a few minor bugs of course) but when aosp gets released honeycomb will be fully stable(after a few builds of course lol)
and if you want a gingerbread rom i read that CM7 will be released soon
CM7 is out and working
check the post "CM7 is coming" there is a post that links to how to do it. I have it running and it great for the first release. I will go to honeycomb though when it gets the kinks worked out. I just love the interface.
Hello!
I have nook color rooted (1.0.1 with autonooter).
But today I want to update my firmware and I don`t know which firmware is the best.
I want to flesh new firmware to eMMC and use it as main firmware on my tablet.
What do you recommend?
CM7 Nightlies
Best in my opinions, it has the tablet tweaks to.
Cm7 is the ONLY way to go and have your nook be useable
Sent from my NookColor using Tapatalk
I second the CM7 suggestion. But dont go for the stable release, either use a recent nightly or CM7.1 RC1. Otherwise you'll have a bug where the device doesnt go into sleep mode properly and wastes battery life.

I still have that issue on the latest nightly.
I've been using MIUI, and I think it's really good on this device!
Cyanogen seems like it's not optimized for such a large screen.

optimized in terms of performance or in terms of screen real-estate utilization?
I recommend dalingrins cm7 3.1 beta with OC kernel.
Been running it for months and have zero issues. Nightlys will be buggy as hell most of the time. Have mine over clocked to 1200mhz and it is super fast and stable with 2300 to 2600 qaudrant scores. As far as sleep of death, I don't have the issue as long as I don't let the screen time-out, I turn the screen off manually.

Do you have a link? My searching comes up with nothing but a kernel.
Just follow this guide,> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1030227 and in place of where it says download cm7 nightly use 3.1 beta instead. And use dalingrins OC kernel.
edit : here is the 3.1 beta rom > http://romshare.deployfu.com/downloads/172/33/update-cm-7.1.0-RC0-encore-2.6.32-beta3.1.zip
Isn't dalingrin's OC stuff included in the latest CM nightlies? You could step the processor up to 1200 MHz without replacing the kernel.
well you could flash a nightly with the oc kernel but then if you flash the 3.1 beta then it would over write the oc kernel.
[QUOTE=>DARKMAN
Nightlys are more stable than the stable releases now a days. I have no idea how you could come to the conclusion that nightlys are as buggy as hell. What you are telling him to install is an outdated beta that is much less stable than the nightys in my experience.

I meant in terms of screen usage. It feels weird, but I haven't ruled it out, I run cyanogen nighties on my phone and they're great, but the nook version feels like it needs some more work, especially compared to MIUI, I haven't really spent a lot of time with either. I've come to this conclusion after just a few hours experience with both on the nook and having used both on various other devices.
I have been running 3.1 beta for months and have zero issues, unlike nightlys. Wifi dropout, SOD etc.
Anyways, he asked for recommendations that is mine.
If you were running a ROM and having zero issues and great performance would you switch?

I am running the latest nightly and have 0 issues.

stable 7.0.3 LINK released 2011-05-08
release candidate 7.1.0 rc-1 LINK released 2011-06-27
nightly 148-169 LINK released every night
@ >DARKMAN<
when you say 3.1 beta, do you mean stable, 7.0.3?
i was confused b/c 3.1 beta seems like it should be 7.3.1, but i dont see that anywhere.
"stable", "rc1", "nightly" are terms for the custom ROM, in this case, the CM7.
What DM mentioned was the kernel (sets of drivers for CM7 ROM) not the ROM itself.
And I don't even know Dalingrin has this beta one.
Dalingrin built a Rom off of cm7. You can only get it from Rom manager. I linked to it in a previous post. Or google rom manager and look for it. It is a Rom.
Sent from my SCH-I510 using Tapatalk
Lots of info in here -- I recommend the latest nightly
http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?device=encore
All recent nightlies (not sure since which release #) include Dalingrin's kernel, so there is no need to flash separately, you'll just need to run the gapps installer if you're following instructions to get started.
Hello all,
I have tried EVERY SINGLE ROM on my mini galaxy for the past 4 months.
They only stable rom I found without unwanted FC is the Minimod X final.
It is so hard to find a stable non-stock rom these day while everyone ports the CM7/9 rom and changes it in some way.
Have you thought about that the CM7/9 rom is not STABLE enough to build on it ?
I wish there will be other updated stable roms that does NOT based on the buggy CM7/9 roms

CM9 is in beta stage, not only for our device, but as an OS in general so no question about that. as for CM7, hmmm, it may be buggy for you but not for all. kittenlinux build's and mebitek's builds are pretty stable for me. Also, that is the essence of development, resolve all unwanted bugs.
Thanks for your reply Kitrax. When I'm talking about instability, I mean a FC few times a week in a moderate use of the phone. When you say pretty stable, Can you use the build for a week without a FC ? The only one that stood up to this to me is the Minimod X final......

Yeah, I can use these ROMs without FC for a week. Well, that would depend on the apps that are force closing on your phone.
have you tried MORe rom? it's stable for me...
and about cm7, I think that's because it isn't the final release...
Thanks again kitrax and droid,
I just installed the latest kittenlinux rom, Since kitrax said that it worked quite stable for him (I saw that meibtek's rom has still some gps problem which was fixed in kittenlinux's rom).
I hope that this rom with the latest full Gapps will work as stable as i expect a rom to work.

Of course! It's still on the beta stage!
I think the baseband version you are using do some different effect.
Some baseband isn't good to some custom ROM.
i've been using the CM 7.2 RC1 since yesterday and it is stable up to now.
I've installed all my programs (premotedroid, Circle battery wodget, Extreme alarm clock, 3g watchdog), And up to now it didnt gave me any FC.
Hope it'll keep working stable. Will let you know whats up.
Thank you folks for your help and insights
i like squad's ROM but the CMobile is buggy! Long time no see him to fix this! (on madteam)
talking about stable cm
didn't you tried official cm for tass
I've tried the official CM 7.2 that came out few weeks ago, But didn't found it stable.
Strange, I was using a lot of roms too, and I experienced bugs and fc's only on few of them... maybe You just expecting too much from this little device, especially when you get a lot of fc's even on stock rom...

ICS/CM9 works extremely well on Milestone. But the one by kabaldan: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445209
Read first post, go to last page (or the one before last, there you can download newer files, a few pages back are also new google apps for ics).
As for hono - it is outdated and apparently buggy. CM7 RC2 is simply stunning. If you want it ics themed you can download theme from market and apply it using theme chooser. Hono used the one by Sonny Sekhon.
Regarding cm7 tweaks - it has ≈ just the right amount of tweaks to make it fast and stable.

Actually, the latest release by kabaldan (7.2.0 RC2) works great out of the box; there's no need for bizarre tweaks anymore. Try disabling JIT and Surface Dithering if you need more RAM.
I was using the last Cm9 nightly, but I have some problem to answer calls when the screen was on, and some problems with data.
So i decied to try the new version of Cm6. The last build is running much better, no bugs, and I'm using a ICS theme.
Try this.
