Aosp Honeycomb rom - Nook Color General

You think we should expect a fully stable hc rom when the source is released?
I'm not sure why there aren't any ginger roms running on the nc,
Is anyone anxiously waiting for the source to be released so they can build the rom?...
I'm hoping it will come out next week along with the xoom... as ginger came out with nexus s.....

well the honeycomb preview v4 seems to be extremely stable for a sdk port(besides for a few minor bugs of course) but when aosp gets released honeycomb will be fully stable(after a few builds of course lol)
and if you want a gingerbread rom i read that CM7 will be released soon

CM7 is out and working
check the post "CM7 is coming" there is a post that links to how to do it. I have it running and it great for the first release. I will go to honeycomb though when it gets the kinks worked out. I just love the interface.

Gingerbreadness

So... been outta the loop for a while. Is there a working gingerbread for my cappy yet?
CM7 and a MIUI port based off of CM7. Both are works in progress. Been running cm7 for two weeks
Yeap, I'll definitely recommend CM7 if you have to use Gingerbread (and understand the problems with them and the risks of the flashing process). Nightly builds keep it running pretty stable for a beta.
You might want to get "in the loop" before you try to use CM7 as a daily driver. There are several very nicely modded 2.2 and 2.2.1 roms that work extremely well and have few if any bugs. If you just have to have GB, you'll need to read the CM7 thread and figure out if it's worth it to you.
Hopefully with the leaked I9000 version we'll see some good stable gingerbread roms in a while.
Thanks everyone. I've been running froyo since it was leaked, and it works fine, I'll just stay with that for now

There's an official froyo build. You don't have to run the leaked bull****. I would highly recommend CM7. It's cured my flashing addiction. The nightly updates are also sweet. It's really stable and fast for a beta build.

They haven't released the source yet so nothing is going to happen for the captivate until the source is released. Which most likely wont occur.

Android AOSP ROM 2.3

Really hoping for an clean and fast Android AOSP Gingerbread ROM for this phone. Such as Oxygen ROM for Desire. That would be great.

Patience, it will come. But it will probably take some time because we have to wait until we get a official gingerbread or a leaked gingerbread rom.

Why do the devs need for a AOSP a leaked Gingerbread before?
I thought the AOSP is compiled directly out of the source code?
we'll just need the drivers etc... cm might come soon
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
AOSP gingerbread only includes drivers for Google developer phones. LG 2x is obviously not one of them so you will need to find drivers that work on gingerbread first, drivers from froyo builds may or may not work and gingerbread drivers will only come after official gingerbread Rom is released.
I'm sure when the G2X gets vanilla gingerbread in may for t-mo us itll be ported over for you optimus 2x users

Thanks, forgot about that :-D
But i hope there will be a classic Gingerbread release soon on the phone.
This is the only thing i miss, except the hard-buttons (well, there is no alternative with either..)
Too bad the trademark that the P990 has gives us advantage on OEM drivers from the 2.3 rom package.
Doesn't anyone have some good contacts inside LG to push the drivers for 2.3 a developers way?
Interesting, that is where we vibrant folks are stuck at...gps drivers from Samsung !
this will suck when 2.4 comes out

[Q] CM9 official port?

So is the N1 going to get an offical CM9 port or is going to just be an unofficial one?
I've heard rumors saying it will eventually get official CM9. For now, though, use samuaz's CM9 build.
In high hopes that cm9 might be arriving anytime soon for our n1.
Fingers crossed

Unofficial

Well, there's a big difference in texasice ICS build and samuaz's CM9 build.

In the last "CM9 Progress Update" on the cyanogenmod website :
Our goal is to provide continued support to all CM7 devices back to the QSD8250 series of devices such as the Nexus One. I don’t want to make any promises at this time, but that is the plan.

So Nexus One should get an official release... but no ETA

HTC release ICS kernel source codes.

Finally they're here. Although only for Sensation's and One V at the moment. Hopefully this will help our awesome devs in their future releases. Here is a link for those interested:

Hopefully we don't have to wait much longer for a stable ics rom
Is our situation the same as the desire s? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1605341

Just have to wait and see I guess. I have been quite impressed with the latest ics releases though and the talk in the thread you linked seems positive.
xda recognized developer nexx is working hard to make fully functional kernel for desire s and other same models. We will get stable ICS before release

Yeah I've seen their cm9 rom by nexx and it looks like he is working really hard to make it stable with one v source code. Hopefully we get some of that rom too.

Hey does anyone remember how we got added to the cm builds last year? Sort of feeling like were out of the loop cm wise as we used to have our own stables and nightlies.

Say what?
They went down due to server relocation and now 7.2-RC3 is the latest. http://get.cm/?device=vivo
There isn't much point to have nightlies to release nowadays for CM7 as there isn't much to update. You can see gingerbread updates here:

In CM9's case we likely aren't going to get any updates until the official 3.0 kernel sources are out for one of the msm7x30's. HTC has 90 days to release it after they provide official OTA update. I believe the teams will prefer's USA/WWE RUU's, not the China stuff we have right now.
Desire S and Desire HD are closest cousins to us. When the kernel sources are out, they will likely work on coding with the proprietary camera files that comes with official sense 3.6 to make it compatible with CM9 / AOSP.
Most of the CM9 devices on there right now already have their official ICS kernel source available and stuff's already worked on/being touched up on. Samsung's ahead of the game at this point.
That is why there are Playground and IceCold for now, you can picture them as 'hacked' roms to use GB files/code to make it work with ICS.
