Hi everyone, I am reading about ROM Manager in other Devices' forums and I was wondering what ROM Manager does exactly and if we can use it to our Milestones.
Is there a guide-tutorial about ROM Manager somewhere perhaps?
Thank you for your time.
I don't believe there is any ROM Mangers that currently work with the Milestone.
A good explain of a ROM Manger is "ROM Manger" (lol?);
http://www.appbrain.com/app/rom-manager/com.koushikdutta.rommanager
Thank you for your answer DannyDroid, I guess we continue to do everything through OpenRecovery.
But it would be very nice if we could update our ROMS throug an app like ROM Manager. Just imagine having installed a PPA (for example a kabaldan's PPA) and everything being update through ROM Manager and a WiFi Connection..!)
Although we don't have a ROM manager type-software for a Milestones. We can still update via OTA via WiFi if the cheft has cooked such support in (see my Miui thread post).

i would like to do the same thing with the last WWE 1.31.405.5 rom.
where can i find the radio patch?
and did you used the same sudo apk?

Thanks for this rom.
The only modifications are the ones pointed out in your description?
Also, could you point out how you cooked this rom? I'd like to get into it myself.
Thanks!
if you open the zip and look into the meta directory for the update script, there we can see how he does it
i was only interested in fixing gsm ringtone bug which is fixed in this release, rom was cooked with basix android kitchen found in chef central section.
i dont have time to do more
Thanks for the rom, it works great! Multi touch in Google Maps
Thanks m8. Great job Been wanting to try this rom since I saw it was released. Nice to see you rooted it so we can all benefit from it
Keep up the good work.
....
How much space is left on the internal memory after a fresh install of this ROM? Can anyone tell?
I don't recall, but somewhere around 90-100 MB I think.
I've installed a few apps:
-adobe reader
- aldiko
- allocine
- androcarbu
- anysoftkeyboard
- astro
- calculator
- chompsms
- copilot
- gtasks
- hungry
- lamppu
- listen
- mytracks
- mybackup pro
- remote+
- slidescreen pro
and updated everything. I have 78 MB left.

Yes, root remains, and no A2SD included.

I have the same problem. Dunno if there's a solution. It connects fine but can't open any pages. It worked fine with custom tether.edify and rodriguez rom.

Same here, but wired works, and it seems like the 3g issue with arrow up is solved with this radio.

You need to install a GSM rom.

Hi guys
I am trying hard to flash my phone with the latest stable Cyanogenmod (7.1)
But I am facing some issues..
Here is what has happened so far:
I have tried a couple of times now, but every time it just hangs on the blue LG startup logo..
Please explain this to me, as if I know nothing at all. (I feel this way)
So here is a list, of how I think I should do:
1: Reflash with Nvflash, so the phone actually becomes bootable
2: install Rom manager (It is not available in China) but I have an .apk So now I install File manager from market, first.
3: Root phone
4: startup
5: start Rom manager, run "flash clockwordmod recovery" select "LG/T-mobile G2X" (Is this the right one?)
6: Choose "reboot into recovery"
7: Choose Factory reset-> Wipe cache and install zip from SD (First CM7.1 then Gapps)
8: Reboot (This is where it hangs on the marvellous blue LG logo)
I think I might be doing something wrong regarding the Recovery (No. 5 or 6)
But please point out what I might be doing wrong..
Looking forward to yoyur assistance

You did it wrong by step 5 you have to choose lg optimus 2x and not lg g2x of t-mobile
Sent from my LG-P990 using xda premium
Thanks tekingenc for a very fast reply.
I just do not have the option for the optimus 2X.. Is my clockword old?
I am in China and Clockworkmod has been blocked (Not commenting on that) on the market. So I am using an APK for installation, via File manager (Astro is also blocked)
Any clue as to where I might find a version that includes p990?
Which version of Rom manager do you have?
The latest is 5.0.0.6
Take a look at Rusty's method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1327599

You don't need it, it's necessary only if you want to root the stock version

7.1 is too old, maybe you should try to flash the latest Temasek build, is pretty stable.

Thanks. I just want something really stable. As you've guessed I don't know a lot about these things. I just wanted something that was a bit more responsive than the stock, provided from LG (I can't believe hos slow it is) Which made my p990 feel as fast as my HTC Legend..
Its probably better to install a ROM via the CWM console instead of using ROM manager .. Specially if you have differently mapped sdcard mount partitions.. But then ROM manager isnt that bad
::::

CyanogenMod is nothing more than a custom rom for your phone. You can change your rom after you've rooted your phone. A rom is more or less the software what runs on your phone.
You probably got your O2X fresh out of the box with a stock (crappy) LG rom on it. Well, my advise is to change your rom because sooner or later you'll find out that the stock rom is really bad.
You don't 'have to' change to CyanogenMod, because this is obviously your choice. There are many other custom roms in the dev section like MIUI, or improved stock roms. You just have to read the threads, look at the screenshots, read the reviews and make up your own mind.
i updated my G1 from cm 5.0 to cm 6.1.0-ds
kernal 2.6.35.9-cyanogenmod [email protected] 2
now i have no market, gmail, maps etc. i flashed gapps , reflashed the rom, tried everything, all i get when i tap the market widget is "the application market(process com.androidvending)has stopped unexpectedly please try again
when i use rom manager it says i need to upgrade to pro via the market ( i have purchased pro) but obviously i cant,
i have searched the forum but cannot find any info, so please excuse me if i have missed any,
ps, any help would be appreciated as this is only the second phone i have rooted( actually it was rooted when i bought it, i just wanted to update the rom, my first root was a vodafone 858)
please be gentle with me
use the gapps in this link (cm6 tiny)
http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-mdpi-tiny-20101020-signed.zip
instructions here

Yeah CM5 has different Gapps than CM6
But really...why CM6? It's super slow...
Try CM7 or Froyobylaszlo...or stick with CM5
If cm6 is slow.which of the two suggested would be best.I'm looking for something easy to cut my teeth on.
froyobylazslo is a great rom
before you flash you need to meet the requirements
search the 2708+ thread

Hey I was confused by that as well when I flashed CM 9 on my Samsung Galaxy S2 The solution to this problem is simple. Go to this site on your phone and download the Google apps (Including playstore) that correlates with the version of CM you are running. I was unable to leave a link in my reply because I am new to this site but a simple google search of "Gapps" will take you to the "Goo.im" Site where you can download the google applications. The site also features an app (APK file) that will allow you to download the apps straight to your phone.
To open these files you must flash them in clockwork recovery mod. I hope this helps. Take care.
