Each time I connect my Galaxy S (I9000) on my computer it shows the message that my device can perform faster...as if my Galaxy is running with USB 1.0.
I've used two different cables, different USB ports...and nothing happens.
Using the same USB cable, with another device, it do not shows the same message so I'm thinking it might be a problem with my Galaxy S or with the USB drivers that I’m using.
Also I tried with another computer (Linux/Ubuntu) and the speed it is as should be, a 600 Mb video takes about 2 min to transfer.
I've been using KIES but has the same problem...tried to install the driver aside KIES and the same result...I did a little research and it seems that I’m the only one with this problem...
My computer (Windows 7) does recognize the phone I can use Mass storage, kies, but the transfer rates of files are between 500 KB/s 300 KB/s...600 Mb video takes 15 min!!!...I have reinstalled over and over the USB driver and the same result.
I will appreciate any help

using Darkys 8.0 Rom.
Its because you are connecting with Kies. If you connect as a mass storage device it runs quicker.
Even connecting my device as a mass storage (Selecting from Settings/Wireless and Network/USB Setting and selected Mass storage...my computer reconigze it as a USB 1.0

When I plug my phone into my computer with my USB cable it is not recognized. I have tried multiple computers to see if it might have been the computer, but this did not fix the issue. I also tried a friend's Hero with my computer and his connected fine...so it must be my phone.
I have also checked to make sure that Disk Drive is the default option when plugged in via USB.
I have also made sure that USB Debugging is on.
I have restored to a stable Nand backup with still no luck.
I am on Fresh 2.1.1 with the latest Sprint radio.
Any help would be much appreciated!
I have previously used my Galaxy S with Kies and Odin. Had some mtp / USB problems previously which I sorted out.
At the moment, if I plug the USB cable into my phone, it only charges. I have searched the forums here and followed the answers such as; uninstalling kies and usb drivers and cleaning the registry etc...
I have also unmounted and removed the external sd card and reformatted the internal sd card. I have the latest version of Kies. Windows 7 simply doesn't notice the phone being plugged in. It doesn't even say unrecognised device. Just does nothing
Any help would be appreciated.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate and my phone is running a froyo ROM that i got on XDA. I think it is JPK but not certain.
I know you have seen a number of similar threads, however I would appreciate any help you can give me.
Thank you.
Edit: I also did a factory reset.
Edit: I uninstalled windows media player 12. I can now connect only in mass storage mode. Kies mode gives error "USB Device Not Recognised".
I cannot mount internal SD card as USB storage device.
When USB debugging is inactive I get "MTP Application connected" screen and at the same time Windows tries to install MTP USB device drivers with no success.
When USB debugging is on I get "USB connected" notification, Windows sees SAMSUNG_Android device and when I press Connect USB storage button on the phone Windows fails to install the drivers for the SAMSUNG_Android.
This happens on PC where I used to mount my phone before. The failure started after I installed Clockwork recovery and backed up the phone to SD.
I did not installed custom ROMS, only root and recovery.

Is there any way to connect via usb as normal rather than as MTP on the NOTE. On MY SGS II I can connect the USB cable, and then from the drop down menu just select connect via USB and bingo both cards appear
I've looked in settings for USB connection but all i can find is the choice to swtich between MTP and PTP.
Which rom are you on ?
@Galaxy Note™…
why do you want to use uass storage mode? MTP is better in my opinion
Mass storage mode is quicker, so better if you are transferring large files.
I leave it as MTP most of the time though as you can still use the phone and access the files on the phone (except when you transfer a file and then it has to do a scan again).
If you are on GB, go into Settings>Applications>Development and enable USB debugging. It will then connect in mass storage mode.
If you are in ICS, Settings>More>USB Utilities>Connect storage to PC
how much faster? personally, safe removing the device in windows, and stopping of sd dependent applications cause too much trouble.
i usually use samba to copy files. which is even slower
Flashable zip to get USB mode on LPY here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26015958

Hi there
I've just bought a USB 3.0 PCIe card for my PC (mainly to speed up transferring blu ray rips to external HDD) and I can't get my phone to connect to it in file transfer mode. It just shows up as an unknown MTP device in device manager. FYI the card is an Inateck entry level jobby.
I've tried:
- uninstalling, reinstalling Xiaomi PCSuite, xiaomi flash tool, google adb drivers
Is the MTP driver specific to the USB chipset? Anyone got any ideas?

Windows 7 Ultimate, 64 bit, and the phone connects fine to the onboard USB 2 sockets, it's just the new USB 3.0 card that I'm having trouble with.
