Hi,
My NC won't book (black screen). Have tried everything to turn it on, no luck. Maybe I have a corrupt boot partition.
Does some one know how I can get a log of the internal booting, when booting to nookie froyo (to have access to adb)?
Even better, could some one dump an image of his mmcblk0p1 (adb pull /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 partition.img) and send it to me, so that I can dd it to my nook?
EDIT-----
Sorry, I've just notice this is a double post, I thought the mods had deleted my first one. Very sorry!
Thanks
Try removing the SD card then boot.
Can you connect it to the computer and have it recognized in ADB?
No. Sadly I can't.
That's why I was hoping some one could send me a dump img of the nook factory partitions. That would be great...
Did you get this to boot?

I am having the same issue with rooted NCnot booting. Im not sure what happend I think it was something to do with leaving the SD card used for rooting in and my wife had powered it off and tried to power it back on with it in.
Boot from Nookie froyo on your SD Card, and repair with boot.img. Has been explained several times on the forum. You should find explantions very quickly..

try putting the dreaimg.nbh file via sd card reader then pressing camera and power together. I dont belive that it is paperweight just yet. But try that then hit me on gmail if you have further questions. [email protected] because this is the wrong area to post your thread in.

Requested for move.
If you can do home+power or power+camera, and boot to recovery or fastboot you're fine. If you can, do as what is stated above.
Thanks to dhacker29 for the orginal idea and script!

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY THING THAT HAPPENS TO YOU OR YOUR PHONE!
I will try to help as much as possible, but that does not allow you to hold me responsible for anything whatsoever.
Step 1. Download this zip file and extract it, putting all the files in a folder.
Step 2. Download the file "One-Click Fastboot Restore.zip" and extract it, putting all the files in the same folder as the one above.
Step 3. Run the .bat file and follow the instructions.
DO NOT FIX PDS PARTITION UNLESS NECESSARY! IT WILL WIPE YOUR MAC ADDRESS FOR WIFI AND BLUETOOTH!
(Found some typos, not serious. Will fix soon)
No comments yet? I take that as a good sign, I haven't screwed up the script!
What does this do? Restore a backup from fastboot

I'm also curious what exactly it does. At 140k it isn't replacing very much. Does it just fix files related to booting?
Didnt run it because I'm on linux and my phone is fine, but looking at the batch file, it automates flashing the stock gingerbread rom and restores PDS via fastboot.
when I run it, it gives me AdbWinApi.dll error. any suggestions?
I ran this for ****s and giggles and it returns everything back to stock AT&T 2.3 while giving you options along the way of what exactly you wanna restore to stock? webtop, system, pds, wipe data etc. works perfectly! makes life easier really! Phone booted right up after running no problems! Thanks!

It restores your phone back to stock AT&T android via fastboot automatically. It also gives you the option to *fix* your pds partition.
It's also an alternative to RSD

Pardon my ignorance, i'm trying to restore a bricked Atrix 4G for a friend. It gave error Failed to boot SVF 105:1:2 0x1000 after bad upgrade. Is it possible to use this as a solution? How can i find that out? and in any case, i have downloaded all files, what's the correct procedure to do this?

Well, been trying but haven't been able to do anything with it. I mean I never used it before and seems like it needs to boot into fastboot mode which I haven't been able to do.
Is in any way possible to make the phone boot into that via usb cable with this software? I installed all requiered software including drivers but it never detected the phone in that (bricked) state, not even once. The phone turns a green light when u connect the usb without battery in, thats it.
I haven't found any solution yet, only seen ppl saying to buy a new one. Is this brick really that bad that there's absolutely no solution? And it all seems to be caused by lack of SBK as ive read on the net...
Well if there's any good news I would like to hear them

Hi, so for the last two weeks i found this issue that's been killing me.
I run a P970 (Optimus Black) running always the latest NIGHTLY from CM10.1.
Two weeks ago I was updating the phone to the version "10.1-20130121-NIGHTLY" and everything went smoothly but after the reboot the phone wouldn't mount my SD card anymore. Mind you that I use a good SD CARD (Amazon Basics 16gb) and tried going into storage and mounting it from there. After several atempts such as removing battery, inserting SD and booting again I decided to check if my SD was corrupted.
IT WAS NOT! TAM DAM DAM!!!
I could access all of my files just fine from my computer.
Just to clear my mind I decided to format the SD card with SD FORMATER but it did bloody nothing.
After that, still holding on to my good manners I tried 3 other SD CARDS that I had laying around.
Nothing....
Now. It was personal.
I spent these last weeks and many aeons searching XDA and the rest of the internet for a case similar to mine and the closest I got, is a thread about a EVO 4G. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695243
Unfortunatly, my Optimus Black refuses to play nice and still hasn't shape shifted to a EVO 4G so we could all move along.
Does anyone has come to a problem like this one? Know how to fix it?
I have already prayed to the Elder Gods and all that it brought me were these horrible, horrible nightmares.
Please, help!

You should do a backup, so you can restore it if needed... although restoring it without a working cwm will be... hard to impossible i mean restoring it without being able to mount the sd card is pretty complicated... are you able to access the sd card in cwm?

Hi, can you please teach me how to flash a newer version without an SD card?
Thanks
Download the latest nightly in your PC
Put your SD in your PC
Copy the file to your SD
Put your SD in your phone
Turn on your phone
When is on long press your power button
Select reboot, select reboot recovery
From there you must know the rest.

I did! Thank you guys!
I was being incredible stupid actually. I finally managed to flash a new rom. There was some debris inside the SD Slot. I managed to open the smartphone out of its shell and remove it.
Thanks guys!
I'm an amateur ROM flasher and I usually get around a problem after a few hours of messing around with the device and forums but I am absolutely stumped by this one. After unsuccessfully trying to flash a few roms, I decided to restore my phone back to what it was because I backed it up only a few hours before. All it would load is a black screen with the status bar showing the time and no signal, sometimes allowing me to slide to unlock to my saved launcher with still a black background. Not only would it never get reception, it would reboot within two minutes. This cycled until the battery would die. I ended up deleting everything on the device itself in attempt to fix something, not thinking I would delete my back ups and then my ability to ever get my phone past bootloader or recovery. I can still do fastboot commands and change the recovery, but besides that, it's a brick. Any kind of help would mean the world, thanks!

It's not a brick until nothing lights up our charges. And since there is no sd slot, that's out. You have access to recovery, you're fine. Download a stable Rom and just like fastboot, do an adb push of the Rom like suggested above. Wipe data, caches, and format system before flashing. No worries. All its not lost.

This may not be a fix for HTC phones, but on Samsung devices, I've had to uninstall and reinstall drivers several times. Do and uninstall, run a registry cleaner, reboot pc, reinstall drivers, reboot, and try adb again. I used to do that every so often with my Samsung devices that wouldn't be properly detected by my pc. It usually fixed my problem.

No offense meant, but that information really needs to be in the first post. It could have made things significantly easier. We also really need to know what ROMs you were trying, because the problems you'r edescribing vaguely sound like you've flashed a GSM ROM somewhere along the line by accident, in which case you will need to RUU (and most of the guides are unfortunately pretty Windows-centric).

No offense taken. Unfortunately, a Mac is all I'm able to use at the moment. I'm trying to run CleanRom from the sprint htc one development section of this site, so I'm fairly certain it should work. My main problem right now is that using adb commands my phone is not recognized. Using fastboot, though, works absolutely fine to do whatever I need and recognizes my device. I've tried using twrp and clockworkmod recovery touch to sideload any zip file and just won't work. All it says after trying that is "failed to open driver control: no such file or directory".
Please do tell me if any other information would help you help me faster. I don't frequent forums so I'd imagine I'm quite frustrating to work with.

Greetings, I recently bought myself a nook HD and tried to install CWM recovery on it, but it doesn't take. No matter how many times I boot with the SD card, using the win32diskimager with CWM-6027 image being written. It just...doesn't take. Was 2.1.1 implemented to prevent the SD card from booting? Or is it something I've done wrong during the process (Currently lacking a Micro>standard converter, so I've been using my old android phone as a mount, could this be it). Please let me know! I really want Cyanogen on this locked down device! Thank you!

Yes, the android phone is the problem. You must mount it in your PC. And 2.1.1 did nothing to prevent boot.

New HD SD card booting (rooting) problem?
Well, I have a microSD card for rooting that boots fine in the two HD+ models I bought last June (I just verified this today), but will not boot in the new HD units I bought today.
So, something is different. I'm checking it out, but I thought I'd post this in the interim ...
Edit: Like an idiot, I _ASSUMED_ that because rooting procedures work on both the Nook HD+ and HD, that the bootable SD card is identical. Once I installed the CWM boot for the HD card, booting and rooting were seamless.
